Howie Mandel’s Alevy Prods. and Core Media Group have signed a first-look deal for Mandel and Alevy to executive produce scripted and unscripted TV and digital projects. Mandel and his Alevy partner Mike Marks currently executive produce the TBS hidden camera series Deal With It. Mandel previously worked with Core president Marc Graboff at NBC, where Mandel hosted Deal Or No Deal, earning an Emmy nomination, and continues to serve as a judge on America’s Got Talent. “Over the course of my long-standing relationship with Howie, I have come to appreciate him as possessing that extremely rare combination of being an incredibly talented performer as well as a smart, savvy producer,” Graboff said. Howie Mandel is more than ready to start a new year by presenting new "Mobbed" scenes.

The comedian-actor-producer's Fox series, in which he shows the organizing and aftermath of flash mobs for various events -- some joyous, others potentially heartbreaking -- makes a big return this week, with two of its five new episodes airing both Wednesday (Jan. 2) and Thursday (Jan. 3).

"I'm really excited about it," Mandel tells Zap2it. "I have a production company and we do a lot of shows, most of which I don't host. I just shot another pilot for another network, but 'Mobbed' is a show that I love, and nobody's as excited about it coming back as I am."

We now finally know who the Gossip Girl is (spoiler: It’s a boy!). Last night’s series finale of the CW’s Gossip Girl posted across-the-board season highs. It was the show’s most-watched (1.51 million) episode and highest-rated in adults 18-49 (0.8/2, up 2 tenths) since April 2011. In 18-34 (1.1/3), it was Gossip Girl‘s strongest performance since September 2011. With a Gossip Girl retrospective special at 8 Pm, the CW posted its most-watched Monday night (1.41 million) since January. In the 9 Pm hour, the network outrated ABC and NBC among adults 18-34 (1.1/3) and women 18-34 (1.8/5). From 8-9:30 Pm, the performance finale of NBC’s The Voice (4.1/11 in 18-49) was up 8% from last week, when it aired from 8-9 Pm, and up 8% vs. the performance finale of the reality series’ previous cycle in May. Howie Mandel has defended Take It All against criticism that the gameshow glorifies greed. Take It All has proven controversial because of its White Elephant-style emphasis on contestants stealing prizes from one another. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Mandel insisted that the gameshow is a fair representation of society. "There's been an open discussion about people's greed. We're putting up a mirror to who people are," he said. "But I don't know if we're showcasing greed or gamesmanship." Fast National ratings for Monday, December 17, 2012.   While "The Voice" dominated the first half of Monday primetime, a sneak of "1600 Penn" and the Howie Mandel dud "Take It All" dropped enough that "Mike & Molly" and "Hawaii Five-0" were able to help CBS win the night in the key measures.   On The CW, the series finale of "Gossip Girl" didn't draw massive numbers, but it drew the show's best numbers since April of 2011, even coming close to topping Fox's low-rated airing of "Happiness is a Warm Blanket."   For the night, CBS averaged a 3.1 rating...

His latest endeavor, NBC's Take It All, serves up surprises of both ilks as we watch contestants win, and then attempt to steal, prizes from one another in a supersized version of White Elephant.

Tonight brings the final episode of the special showing, and to mark the occasion ETonline caught up with Mandel to find out what he thinks game shows say about our culture, what has surprised him the most and why he'd never be caught dead as a contestant.

ETonline: Did NBC come to you with Take It All, or did you approach them?

Howie Mandel: I took it to them. My first recollection of wanting to be in show business was watching Allen Funt. I loved Candid Camera. What I loved was seeing real people in awkward situations and seeing how they'd react. It opened...

Zap2it: As your week-long game show "Take It All" wraps up, do you find its limited run has been a big part of servicing such expensive winnings as a hovercraft?

Howie Mandel: The issue was that we wanted to give away big prizes and tons of money. They're giving it a push, in the hope that if this event works -- and I believe it will -- this is just the beginning.

We're keeping our fingers crossed in the same way as our "Deal or No Deal" experience, and everybody who was on that show is back. I'm partners with all the same people on this, like the other executive producers, our casting people and our set designers. It's the same team, and we feel like we have found the next new-and-improved game.

Zap2it: Do you have concerns about the game possibly losing some of its luster...

It was another great night for the CBS comedies and dramas: All four series were up in the key adult demo versus last week, starting with The Big Bang Theory — which not only averaged a mighty 16.7 million, but notched a 5.4 rating/17 share in 18-49, according to early numbers from Nielsen. It was the No. 1 show of the night in viewers and the key demo.

Two and A Men was also first in viewers (13.5 million) and adults 18-49 (up .2 percent to a 4.2/12). Person of Interest averaged 14.2 million viewers and a 3.0/8 — up a slight .1 — while Elementary averaged 10.6 million and was up .2 in 18-49 (2.3/6). Overall,...

The NFL-adjusted finals are in, and ABC’s Scandal this Thursday night wound up drawing 7.14 million total viewers while scoring a 2.4 demo rating, dipping four percent and a tenth from last week’s series high.

On CBS, per finals: The Big Bang Theory (16.8 mil/5.4) and Elementary (10.6 mil/2.3) rose two tenths in the demo, Two and a Half Men (13.6 mil/4.1) ticked up one tenth and Person of Interest (14.3 mil/2.9) was flat.

CBS eeked out a win on Wednesday with another strong showing by Criminal Minds — up 3% from last week to a 3.1 rating/8 share in adults 18-49 and 11.9 million viewers, according to early numbers from Nielsen. Survivor: Philippines — which featured the better-late-than-never booting of Abi-Mara the grump — was down 3% from last week to a 2.8/8 and 10.2 million, but it still won its timeslot in the key demo.

CSI earned a 2.2/6 and 9.5 million, down 15% from its last original two weeks ago to post a series low.

Fox was a close second Wednesday with its two-hour edition of The X Factor, which was down 7% from last week.

Parenthood hasn’t had a great season — by the numbers, at least.

The NBC drama is down 14 this fall compared to last year. Yet even though the network ordered a shorter season this round (there’s only four episodes left), the family drama has performed well enough to probably earn itself a renewal for next year. Tuesday night’s hour will help. Parenthood had 5.7 million viewers and a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49, up 11 percent from last week. Christmas specials seem to be taking a hit this year. ABC’s broadcast last night of the 1970 stop-motion Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (1.7/5) fell 23% from its December 1, 2011 airing. On the CW, A Muppets Christmas: Letters To Santa (0.4/1) cratered 56% from its November 30, 2011 airing. (Last week, CBS’ Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer was down 28% from 2011.) With The Voice scaling back to one hour last night, things went back to the way they were on Monday before the hot NBC upstart came along — with CBS on top in adults 18-49. With no ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, CBS also won the night in total viewers, the first time the network has done so in both measures this season. CBS’ fast nationals were likely slightly inflated by an NFL pre-emption in Houston, but its margin of victory is large enough to secure the network its first No. 1 finish this fall. All of CBS’ shows are currently running ahead of last week: How I Met Your Mother (3.3/9, up 6%), 2 Broke Girls (4.0/10 at 9 Pm, up 14%, and 3.9/9 at 9:30 Pm) and Hawaii Five-0 (2.7/7). With NBC reducing The Voice to a single hour last night, CBS gave viewers a double-helping of 2 Broke Girls 9 p.m., pushing the network into first place.

Broke Girls topped out with 11.8 million viewers and a 4.0 rating, rising 14 percent from last week. That helped push Hawaii Five-0 up 17 percent to easily win 10 p.m. with 10.4 million viewers and a 2.7 rating.

How I Met Your Mother opened the night with 9.05 million total viewers and a 3.3 rating, up 10 percent and two tenths week-to-week; leading out of that, a Big Bang repeat did 10.4 mil/3.3 (up some 50 percent from last week’s Broke Girls rerun).

A 9 o’clock double-pump of the 2 Broke Girls then did 11.8 mil/4.0 and 11.5 mil/3.9, improving upon the show’s previous numbers and Mike & Molly‘s, respectively. Hawaii Five-0 capped CBS’ evening with 10.4 mil and a 2.7, up 11 and 17 percent.

Howie Mandel is back on NBC with a new game show tapping into the spirit of the holiday season. "Take It All" seems to be inspired the by the concept of the white elephant gift exchange, though this culminates with two participants having the chance to ... take it all!

The premise is simple, following the traditional white elephant gift exchange. Participants can choose a new gift, or steal from one that's already been opened. At the end of each round, though, the one with the least valuable gift is eliminated. Then, when it's down to two, they have the big choice. They can choose to keep the gifts they got, or "take it all."

If both choose to keep their own gifts, then they do just that. If both choose to take it all, they both walk away with nothing. If only one chooses to take it all, then they get everything,...

This week, "The Voice" gods spared us a two-hour show and gifted us with a peek at Nicholas David not just without two pairs of glasses, not just without cataract sunglasses, but without any glasses at all.

But before we get to a de-spectacled St. Nick, Carson Daly informs us that only one contestant will be eliminated on Tuesday night's results show and the news has Nicholas doing some sort of chicken dance. For fans of the cluck-tastic move, worry not, it resurfaces.

Howie Mandel has a new deal in the game show realm.

Seen in recent years as a judge on NBC's "America's Got Talent," the comedian stays with that network as he returns to contest hosting -- which brought him "Deal or No Deal" success -- with "Take It All," a holiday-season event that runs each weeknight over one week starting Monday, Dec. 10.

The premise may seem familiar. "When I pitched the show, I knew it as the 'white elephant' game," Mandel, also an executive producer of the show, tells Zap2it. Then I found out a friend on the East Coast called it 'Yankee swap.' Howie Mandel knows NBC's got "America's Got Talent" again next year, but he doesn't know yet if it's got him for it.

And not by his own choice, the comedian maintains. "They haven't told me yet," he tells Zap2it. "I would love to be there, and I will be there if they ask me."

Of the other most recent "Talent" judges, Sharon Osbourne has left the program, and Howard Stern's future with the competition also is yet uncertain.

"If it was up to me, yes, I'd return," Mandel says, "but it's not up to me. It's up to NBC, so we'll see what they do. I had a great time this past year. I love Howard and Sharon, and I know them beyond show business. It was great to sit on the panel with two friends, but that is show business: You never know what you're going to do tomorrow.
