We're only one movie into the new Star Wars trilogy, but Star Wars: The Last Jedi is just around the corner. Before you know it, Star Wars 9 will be here and this new journey will be over. But that doesn't mean characters like Rey can't show up in future movies. However, Daisy Ridley says that she's likely done with the character following the conclusion of Star Wars 9. Say it ain't so, Daisy. Here's what she had to say about it in a recent interview when asked if she wants to play Rey again after Star Wars 9.

We’re heading towards the end of the line, ladies and gentlemen. Well into November now, we’ve only got a few films left to see before all of the contenders will be known entities. As such, it’s a perfect time for an Academy Award predictions update. This is also the time of the year where multiple updates in a month seems appropriate, and in fact, necessary. The race is constantly evolving, which makes any prediction made a month ago completely obsolete. We’re not quite at the weekly point in the year yet, but that’s not too far off, frankly. Before you know it, the big morning will be upon us, and then it’ll be on to Phase Two. Some things reflected here include Steve Carell going Supporting for Battle of the Sexes, as well as Chappaquidick being pushed to 2018. There’s also the fallout of...

“I was literally shaking.”
That’s how Kim Zolciak-Biermann describes the moment she learned about the frightening dog bite that nearly blinded her son.
The 39-year-old mother of six documents the aftermaths of Kash’s bite on Friday’s episode of her Bravo reality series Don’t Be Tardy, and People has the exclusive first look.
Kim retells the story of what happened as she and husband Kroy Biermann drive Kash to one of his follow-up doctor appointments, just days after the April 22 attack.

Megyn Kelly is opening up about the firestorm of sexual misconduct, harassment and assault allegations simmering throughout the entertainment industry — and her own firsthand experience.
In a new interview with Deadline, the former Fox News anchor — who was with the network for 12 years before moving to NBC this year — addressed the sexual harassment she allegedly endured at the hands of the late Roger Ailes, former CEO of Fox News.

David Deutchman says he has held more than a thousand babies—and counting.
For the past 12 years, Deutchman has visited Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta twice a week to hold and comfort babies in the neonatal intensive care unit—earning him the nickname “ICU Grandpa” from staff and parents. Even if he gets vomited on occasionally, the 82-year-old says the experience has been nothing short of rewarding.
“It is very gratifying, not just because the babies are crying and you help them to stop crying,” Deutchman, from Atlanta, Georgia, tells People. “There are a lot of benefits to that warm...

Your emotions are in a heightened state thanks to the long hours and the story you're telling. You're closed off from the outside world. You're collaborating on a labor of love. Before you know it, you're falling in love on a film set. It might just be one of Hollywood's oldest clichés—and many fizzle out before the film can even hit theaters—but for a handful of lucky couples, the romance unlocked while working together on a movie as director and actor can last a lifetime. If they work it right. Jennifer Lawrence and her mother! director Darren Aronofsky are the latest director-actor couple to rise up unexpectedly after working with one another, and as their head...

With titles such as Ark, The Long Dark and, of course, current popular-kid Player Unknown: Battlegrounds proving so successful with PC gamers – it makes sense that indie game producers are putting forward their own survival-genre offerings. Here, having taken inspiration from the infamous John Carpenter horror film The Thing (1982) we have the arctic expedition from hell.
From a slightly rushed intro we learn the characters embarked on a rescue mission to the arctic, unaware that their colleagues were already irretrievable. The helicopter crashes after the mysterious appearance of a bright light and the game begins. This will perhaps be the only bit of storyline you follow. From the creepy loading screen music, the buffeting noise of the wind and the surprisingly detailed graphics, Distrust successfully builds an atmospheric landscape within the game. With the short tutorial giving nothing away as to what enemies you will cross during game play – the...

Two in one month? I know, that’s not something we normally do while still in the summer. And yet, here we are, looking at updated Academy Award predictions. The Oscars may seem off in the distance, but there’s only four full months of new releases left in the year. In a few days I’ll run down the best of the first two thirds of 2017, but it’s the final, still to be seen, third that will make or break the year. That’s what I’m still speculating on here. This is truly the final moments of calm before the awards season storm begins. Before you know it, precursors will be chiming in and the race will be taking shape. Next month will see huge turnover with the fall film festival season creating new contenders, turning previous ones into pretenders, and upending the race overall. As such,...

Last month, Neill Blomkamp premiered a new short film Zygote through its experimental features from Oats Studios. The fan community definitely wanted more.
The story for Zygote is fairly simple about two survivors in the near future at an underground mining facility--trapped with this hideous, most terrifying monster made out of human limbs. As a cross with The Thing and Alien, it is a face-paced, heart-pounding twenty-two minutes of non-stop action.
The short film stars Dakota Fanning and Jose Pablo Cantillo.

Snoozing the alarm (about five times)? Celebs are guilty of it, too. Those 10 more minutes of beauty sleep take away from the time reserved for getting ready. Before you know it, you're running late. Not to mention, you're rushing to get yourself together. On days like this, there is no time to create a hair masterpiece. And, unlike the stars who have hair pros on their payroll, you might not have a clue about what to do with your tresses. Enter: a simple ponytail or braid (you know, the lazy-girl look). But, just because you're running late doesn't mean you can't achieve a hairstyle that is both cute and efficient. Having no time to style your strands may seem like a bad-hair day...

Four years after “Venus in Fur,” Roman Polanski returns with an adaptation of Delphine de Vigan’s “Based on a True Story,” a stylish but ultimately stiff collection of old tropes about writers and their audience, fiction vs. reality, and the Other that becomes you.
Offering little in the way of fresh material and mixing together influences such as “Misery,” “Single White Female,” and Polanski’s own “The Ghost Writer,” this sophisticated French/Polish two-hander is at least a good showcase for the two lead actresses — while the pairing of Polanski and “Personal Shopper” director Olivier Assayas, here solely on scriptwriting duty, does not quite deliver on its promise.
The story of a successful Parisian writer Delphine (Polanski’s wife Emmanuelle Seigner) on the verge of starting her new book, the film opens on a point-of-view shot of the author facing a sea of admirers at a signing event. Beneath a well-constructed facade of control,...

Photographers Aimee and Jenna Hobbs specialize in birth and family photos, and they started to notice a troubling trend — the moms they photographed started to remove themselves from the portraits with their kids, or ask if they could be photoshopped to look thinner.
“There is enormous pressure in our society to bounce back and maintain this image of perfection…the right house, the right clothes, the right hair, and on and on,” Aimee, 34, tells People. “We understand that. But, existing in photographs for your kids, not just for today, but for ten, twenty, fifty years from now is so important.

Guy Ritchie doesn’t make movies the way he used to. His breakout feature, 2000’s wild crime comedy “Snatch,” was made for $10 million over the course of less than a year. As Ritchie has moved away from such indie-minded features and firmly into the blockbuster world, that part of moviemaking has been lost to him. He’s a blockbuster guy now, but that doesn’t mean he’s not still pushing for his own creative vision.
“When I made ‘Snatch,’ it was a year from beginning to end,” he said in a recent interview. “Three months to write it, two months to shoot it, three months to edit it, bosh! This is three years later, this movie.”
He was talking about “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword,” Ritchie’s bombastic big screen take on the early years of Arthurian legend, starring Charlie Hunnam as the man who would be king.

With all of the excitement about Marvel and Netflix's upcoming The Defenders mini-series, one thing that hasn't really been explained (so far) is who the team will be fighting. We know that legendary actor Signourney Weaver will play Alexandra Reid, a character created exclusively for this series, and not based on an existing Marvel character (as far as we know, at present). The recent trailer also revealed that Daredevil's former lover and vigilante partner, Elektra, has returned and engages him hand-to-sword, during one key fight sequence.
With just over three months until the debut of The Defenders, it's about time we started getting a little more information about Elektra, Reid, The Hand, and whomever else is in the mix as antagonists.

Put down your food and drinks ladies and gentleman, the newly released red band trailer for The Little Hours is full of flying female hormones of the religious kind, who would have thought a bunch of nuns could be such brazen hussies?
The trailer starts innocent enough with sweeping cuts to Father Tommasso holding mass, to a Nun sitting quietly in her room partaking in a little embroidery until a poor farmer greets the nuns only to be greeted with a tirade of obscenities before the heavy laden foul-mouthed rap soundtrack kicks in, not as out as place as you would have thought for a period piece.
Before you know it, the talk of sex explodes into lustful thoughts and actions as Dave Franco’s Massetto is introduced into the convent as he goes into hiding.

By now, it’s certainly no secret that Harley Quinn has become one of DC’s most popular characters in recent years. Since her debut a quarter century ago on Batman: The Animated Series, she’s built quite the cult following. But given the success of her solo comic book along with appearances in various Arkham games and the Suicide Squad movie, said following may have ballooned to numbers that are starting to rival that of Batman’s.

There are many questions I was expecting to ask of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. How have Nintendo expanded beyond the increasingly regimented boundaries of their second flagship franchise? How will our hero, Link, fit into a world of Witchers and Far Cries, which have perfected their open worlds over the past decade? There was one question, however, I was not expecting to ask: Is this the greatest video game ever made? For a hundred-hour game, the broader story is simple. You, Link, wake up after a century of stasis, to find that the world of Hyrule has fallen to calamity – namely, Calamity Ganon. Hyrule Castle has been subsumed by his swirling horror, and you are asked (by a mysterious Old Man, of course) to make your way there to find Princess Zelda. Along the way, Link must re-gather his memories. Lots of people seem to remember him,...

Yana: Yep. Bellamy, unfortunately, was in the position of breaking the equal group vote, but it made sense for him to choose the way he did. Not only was this a reflection and a development of his The 100 Season 3 conflict, but this also just made sense.

Roan has only been the king for nine days and people are already trying to kill him.
The 100 Season 4 Episode 2 found several of our characters dealing with the harsh realities of being a leader – Clarke, Bellamy, and Roan all had to make tough, if not virtually impossible, choices.

This was a stronger installment than The 100 Season 4 Premiere, largely thanks to how well-balanced the action was between Arkadia and Polis.
The show occasionally struggles with making the Sky People drama and the larger grounder political drama equally compelling. But the two plots worked in tandem to great effect during "Heavy Lies the Crown."
Let's start with the Polis portions, which were more self-contained and less sprawling.
The hour opened by introducing us to a brand new character named Ilian. The young grounder (of the Trishanakru clan) seems poised to become an important figure.

While the party takes place in an open lawn, InStyle is well aware of the dangers of walking on grass in heels! In order to avoid any accidents, a wooden floor is also built with a white tarp on top.

This is a recap of the second half of Nashville‘s two-hour Season 5 premiere. For a recap of the first hour, click here.
The folks of Nashville are one sorry bunch as the second half of the two-hour Season 5 premiere gets underway. Rayna is sorry Deacon doesn’t see things her way. Deacon is sorry that he can’t just do things Rayna’s way one more time. Scarlett is sorry she can’t seem to get out of her own way when it comes to loving Gunnar. Gunnar, in true Gunnar fashion, is sorry — but he’s not quite sure why.

In pacing, mood, and form, Certain Women is undoubtedly a Kelly Reichardt film (and we’re glad), but those who can make that distinction will be all the more likely to spot some incongruities. For one, it’s an omnibus film that takes the format and its possibilities very seriously, in turn giving its incidents an added tension – so it is when there’s simply less time to linger. It’s also set outside her beloved Oregon, a state she’s done more for than any working filmmaker, or perhaps just any filmmaker, period.
This became the crux of my interview with Reichardt, who I’d spoken to when her great (and perpetually under-appreciated) Night Moves opened in the spring of 2014. Now seated in a midtown hotel, we had a largely off-the-cuff conversation — short story: I wasn’t supposed to speak with her during the press day, so I just...

With six seasons under its belt across various networks, series creator Dan Harmon now believes that a Community spinoff movie is inevitable.
Word comes by way of Polygon, who quizzed Harmon about the immediate future of Greendale Community College. We know that, in a world where the likes of Veronica Mars can stage a comeback, the scribe-cum-director refuses to rule out a spinoff movie based on Jeff, Abed, Annie and the rest of the crew.
And here, Harmon revealed that everyone is firmly on board for a fully-fledged feature film.
“We live in a world where Veronica Mars happened because fans were excited about it. The Community fans have riled for this movie. The cast wants to do the movie. I want to do the movie. It’s going to inevitably happen.

[Guest author Christopher Lombardo of Really Awful Movies celebrates Canada Day by looking back at three backwoods Canadian horror films.] In the ’70s, Canadian tax loopholes spurred growth in domestic horror films, providing a more reliable low-cost means of recouping one’s investment in a frequently fickle business. A few, like Martin Scorsese’s favorite The Changeling, were critical darlings, while the bulk of them were regarded as cheap government-funded trash. A prominent Canadian critic famously called Cronenberg’s Shivers “an atrocity, a disgrace to everyone connected with it” in a jeremiad titled “You Should Know How Bad This Film Is. After All, You Paid for It.”
Luckily, for those of us invested in such things artistically if not financially (unless you count our tax dollars), we got gems such as Happy Birthday to Me, My Bloody Valentine, Black Christmas (1974), and many others.
The “tax shelter” era, in addition to straight-ahead slashers, also gave us lesser-known films that exposed class divisions—punishing urban interlopers who lacked the necessary survival skills to thrive in the wilderness.

Ancient Egypt - a land of pyramids, colossal statues and unconvincing scorpions. Did you know that, in the time of the pharoahs, gods lived among ordinary mortals and could transform into huge, fire-spouting robots? Director Alex Proyas’ Gods Of Egypt may have been demolished by critics when it appeared in the Us earlier this year, but it’s certainly educational.
Proyas previously brought us such dark and moody delights as The Crow and Dark City, but Gods Of Egypt is completely unlike anything he’s made before. It’s big, it’s camp, it’s awash with CGI which varies in quality from shot to shot. In style and tone, it belongs in that same odd category of action fantasy films as Louis Leterrier’s Clash Of The Titans...

Barely six days ago from the time this article prances across the interwebs to be posted to my little corner here at ComicMix, I will have once again broke bread with our ol’ E-i-c Mike Gold. Mr. Gold was in town (Chi-Town) for secret business. I’ve long since learned to stop asking for details, as when such a query is prodded Mike is prone to drum up a story with no fewer than seven name drops, and four blink-and-you’ll-miss-it delicious details about someone famous in comics. Before you know it, the subject has been changed, the barbecue brisket has hit the table, and you’ve completely forgotten your original question.

What’s this? A new horror anthology centered around a myriad of holidays and helmed by some cats I really dig (I mean, c’mon; look at that list of die-rectors up there)? Let’s see if this one is going to be more treats than tricks, or just an overstuffed and overcooked turkey!

It’s about the time of the year that every mainstream Edm artist redoubles their efforts towards putting out a progressive house anthem that will dominate the festival circuit. This week, Dzeko & Torres have offered up a formidable candidate in the form of their Hellberg collaboration, “Care For Me.”
After all, “Care For Me” follows the main stage formula to a T. A memorable female vocal is underscored by house groove just soft enough for fans of more sophisticated styles not to dismiss it right off the bat.
Before you know it, though, an incendiary yet euphoric synth lead carries you above the cloudy canopy illustrated by the verses for several measures. Dzeko & Torres and Hellberg left no room for filler in this track, with each measure serving a deliberate and calculated purpose.
It stands to reason that “Care For Me” by Dzeko & Torres and Hellberg will find its way...

Jimmy Fallon brought his “Tonight Show” back to the City of Angels last week where he was joined by guests like the cast of “Fuller House,” Oscar nominee Bryan Cranston, the hilarious Vince Vaughn, and more. To help him commemorate the week that was before heading back to New York City, Fallon had a very special guest on Friday night’s episode: none other than the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award honoree (and Backstage cover subject) Carol Burnett! “I can’t believe that our week in L.A. is actually coming to a close,” Fallon begins before crooning his way into the first verse of Burnett’s trademark “Sign Off.” Fortunately, when Fallon gets a tickle in his throat, Burnett is on-hand with a glass of water—which she promptly tosses in his face. Before you know it comes the time we have to say, “So long!” Watch the video below.

Snickers' Super Bowl commercials have become a thing of legend. And the big game just wouldn't be the same without a new one. Today, we get our first look at the latest edition in this long-standing Ad campaign. And it doesn't disappoint. The TV spot features two very big, albeit very different Hollywood legends.

Despite being a remastering of a 2007 Nintendo DS title, Dementium Remastered is full of surprises. Renegade Kid’s latest game manages to blend two genres, horror and first-person shooter, that seem like an awful fit for a Nintendo 3Ds title. Thankfully, my weariness was unfounded, as the talented indie studio has managed to largely pull off a difficult task. Even if it might feel better suited for other platforms.
Dementium makes a statement right from the start with an incredibly strong opening. The player wakes up in a dark blood stained hospital, armed with nothing but his sanity. The lighting of the hospital makes it impossible to see more than a few feet in front of you, which leads to uncomfortably stumbling around the terrifying area. The startling sound design managed to spook me from the very beginning, and the disturbing noises coming from my 3Ds speakers constantly kept me on edge.

When the Overlord franchise made its debut on consoles and PC nearly ten years ago, it had a certain charm to it that you weren’t going to see in any other action role-playing game at the time. Praised for its thoughtful humor, strategy, and engaging puzzles, it was hard not to find something to enjoy about the title. Even its sequel, Overlord 2, added to what the series does best: taking the reins wreaking havoc on anything and everything, alongside your ever-destructing team of minions. One of the problems with the newest Overlord installment, Overlord: Fellowship of Evil, is that it just stops being fun.
