Best Saudi Movie to Date

The movie was genuinely funny and creative. The director really took care of this project, everything from dialogue to references are refreshing in Saudi cinema as it's original and feels Saudi unlike previous movies we've seen in the past. Saudi movie to the core. I laughed so much and that's a first in local movies, only egyptians managed to do that before and that says a lot. The music, my god the music was so good and very representative of both our different local cultures and the mixture of ethnicities that we've lived with here in Saudi from egyptians to sudanis to pakistanis. Telvaz11 are pushing the boundaries of Saudi cinema, a must see!

Why 'Sattar' Deserves a Spot on Your Must-Watch List

One of the aspects that stood out to me in "Sattar" was the character development. Saad's journey from a struggling individual to a wrestler was depicted with great depth and authenticity. The film beautifully portrayed his struggles, both physical and emotional, and showcased the transformation he undergoes throughout the story. This character arc added a layer of relatability to the film, making it easy for the audience to connect with Saad on a personal level.

Moreover, the performances in "Sattar" were commendable. The lead actor portrayed Saad's emotions and struggles with conviction, bringing the character to life on the screen. The supporting cast also delivered strong performances, adding depth to the overall narrative. The chemistry between the actors was palpable, making the interactions between the characters feel genuine and believable.

The cinematography in "Sattar" was visually stunning. The wrestling sequences were choreographed and shot brilliantly, capturing the intensity and excitement of the sport. The use of camera angles and slow-motion shots added a dynamic element to these scenes, making them visually captivating.

In terms of the screenplay, "Sattar" had a well-paced narrative. The story unfolded at a steady pace, keeping me engaged and invested in Saad's journey. The dialogue was well-written and helped to develop the characters and their relationships. There were moments of humor, drama, and even some unexpected twists that added an element of surprise to the overall plot.

So, if you're looking for a film that will inspire you and leave you feeling motivated, "Sattar" is definitely worth adding to your watchlist. Get ready to embark on a journey with Saad as he fights against all odds to fulfill his childhood dream.

Highly recommended

Very funny movie, the suspense, the relationships and the drama is strong and I was very impressed as the movie made me laugh, hold my seat tight and It seems there was flying ninjas cutting onions on some scenes as my eyes were dropping.

My problem with the movie is that I can't really take hogan seriously with his over acting and the fact that he is Ali G ripoff it's completely unoriginal and unnecessary, secondly is Khairallah using an older caricature which also felt they were out of imagination.

All in all, the movie is great fun and would highly recommend everyone from all ages to see and enjoy.

Funny movie

Just watched Sattar and it was a refreshing and hilarious Saudi film, Ibrahim Al Hajjaj nailed the role of an underdog chasing his wrestling dreams with charm and humor. The mix of comedy, culture, and unexpected emotional moments made it both entertaining and meaningful. The production quality and wrestling scenes were top-notch. A great example of how far Saudi cinema has come-funny, inspiring, and very relatable. Highly recommended for a good laugh and feel-good vibes. The character development was spot on, and the film carries a strong message about believing in yourself no matter what. I would love to see a sequel.

1-The story line was confusing and not convincing, the plot wasn't really interesting, i felt that some scenes were overlapping and unordered. I think that if it was more serious and had more drama scenes it could've been way better. 3/10

2-The comedy in general was good and fun, I was entertained by the main characters in this film, nevertheless, some actors were not funny and so cringy to watch.7/10

3-the music mixing was good in regards of choice, bad in regards of the volume, I couldn't hear what were they saying in some lines.5/10

-Overall rating is 5/10, an average film to watch, it's one of those movies that you should watch with your brain's shut.

Average Movie

Here's your review with all special characters removed (e.g., punctuation, symbols):

---

Just an average movie Not much to say about it really because it is very mediocre but a good effort from the actors With more investors the industry can flourish and bring more quality it will take time and efforts to reach there

By mid 2023 it reportedly earned around 107 million ranking at the top of the Saudi 2023 box office calendar illustrating a notable shift toward locally made films beating out Hollywood blockbuster

Strengths Ibrahim AlHajjajs performance His comic timing and physical commitment including a 15 kg weight loss make Saad a charming relatable underdog akin to Simon Peggs

Energetic fight choreography The underground wrestling scenes are physically intense creatively edited and visually dynamic a highlight for action fans

Cultural authenticity Producers emphasize real Saudi settings vernacular dialogue and localized music particularly the use of Sheilat tracks during key entrance moments

Fun supporting characters Ali Hogeen offersp comedic reprieve while coach Abdul Khaleq adds gravitas and mentor energy

Weaknesses Predictable structure The underdog sports formula is familiar New opponent introductions tend to drag pacing and female roles notably Saads fiance Falwa are underdeveloped stereotypes rather than fully formed characters

Visual and musical limitations While the Sheilat songs energize scenes the background score is sometimes generic The cinematography feels serviceable rather than stylistically elevated which may disappoint viewers expecting more polished visuals

Artistic critique Some film critics question whether Sattars commercial explosion equates to artistic innovation arguing it added little to the artistic evolution of Saudi cinema despite its entertainment value.

A Hilarious and Heartwarming Saudi Comedy

Sattar is a refreshing surprise from Saudi cinema-a comedy that blends slapstick, heart, and local culture in a way that feels both familiar and new. Directed by Abdullah Al Arak and starring the ever-charismatic Ibrahim Al-Hajjaj, this film takes us on an underdog journey that's as ridiculous as it is inspiring.

The story follows Saad, a regular guy with a not-so-regular dream of becoming a professional wrestler. After his life hits rock bottom, he finds an unlikely mentor in Ali Hogeen (played with infectious energy by Abdulaziz Alshehri), who helps him chase his childhood dream in Riyadh's underground wrestling scene known as "The Pit."

What really works here is the balance between humor and heart. The film leans into absurd comedy-complete with over-the-top training scenes, bizarre opponents, and ridiculous finishing moves-but it never loses sight of the emotional core. Saad's struggle is real, and his journey feels genuinely uplifting.

Ibrahim Al-Hajjaj delivers a standout performance-funny, vulnerable, and relatable. The supporting cast brings their own charm, though some characters feel a bit exaggerated at times. The soundtrack is energetic and culturally rich, mixing local rap and traditional styles to great effect.

Sattar may follow a familiar sports-comedy formula, but it does so with originality and pride. It's culturally specific without being alienating, and it brings Saudi humor to a broader audience in a way that's entertaining and accessible.

For fans of films like Nacho Libre or Dodgeball, this is an easy recommendation. It's not perfect, but it's bold, fun, and full of heart-exactly what Saudi cinema needs more of.

Great funny movie....the story is mixed between action and drama which both make it great awesome movie...I enjoyed the charterers a lot they made me laugh each time. I was hoping the ending would be more interested, like adding a part that could be starting new part of the movie, all over I give the movie 10/10 because it's Saudi movie and I sippprt Saudi movies and I like the character most of them, I hope in new future they will make new part of the movie, I like the movies it has more comedy drama part than action part, over all it's great movie to watch with friends, family or alone in home.

Fake

This number contacts people claiming they can earn money by completing evaluations or surveys. At first, it may seem like a genuine opportunity, but I believe it's actually a trick or scam designed to deceive people and take advantage of their trust. Be very cautious when dealing with unknown numbers like +971 56 504 0562. Do not share any personal, financial, or banking information, as it could lead to identity theft or financial loss. Always verify the source before engaging in any such offers, especially those that sound too good to be jansnsnsntrue. Stay alert and protect yourself from fraud.

Very funny movie, the suspense, the watched this movie just because of Abdulaziz Al-shehri, I am a big fan of him he is a great comedian and I ended up laughing as I expected. So who wants to feel fresh and laugh I recommend watching this movie but don't expect a good or interesting story. And another point is that building character development wasn't really enough for example main character Sattar became a strong fighter in no time. Some scenes were silly and stupid to be honest.

Overall should you watch this movie or not?

Yes definitely you should, don't miss the chance to giggle. Now I wanna give my opinion about sattar.

Funny

Sattar follows the journey of Saad (played by Ibrahim Al-Hajjaj), a shy and overweight man with big dreams of becoming a professional wrestler. Stuck in a dead-end job and looked down upon by society-and especially by the family of the girl he loves-Saad sees wrestling not just as a career but as a way to reclaim his dignity and self-worth.

His path crosses with the eccentric and often unreliable wrestling manager Ali Hogail (played hilariously by Ibrahim Al-Hajjaj in a double role), who promises to train Saad and turn him into a star. What follows is a series of comic misadventures, training montages, and bizarre wrestling matches, all rooted in Saudi culture but inspired by classic wrestling tropes and global pop culture.

A Heartwarming and Hilarious Movie Experience with My Family

I had the chance to watch a movie that turned out to be not only a beautiful cinematic experience but also one filled with laughter and joy. This movie, which I watched with my family, had us all laughing from start to finish. The combination of humor, emotions, and the delightful storyline made it a memorable experience, one that I will cherish for a long time.

The film had an incredible cast of characters, each one more lovable than the last. The actors brought their roles to life with such energy and charm that it was impossible not to get caught up in the magic of the story. From the very first scene, we were introduced to a lighthearted and fun atmosphere that set the tone for the entire movie. The script was witty and clever, and the dialogue was filled with hilarious one-liners and comedic timing that kept everyone in stitches.

One of the best parts of the movie was its ability to blend humor with heartfelt moments. While there were plenty of funny scenes that made us laugh out loud, there were also emotional moments that touched our hearts. It was a perfect balance between comedy and emotion, which is rare to find in films these days. The characters' personal journeys were relatable, and we found ourselves laughing and empathizing with them at the same time. It was the kind of film that made you feel good not just because it was funny, but because it reminded you of the importance of family, love, and friendship.

Watching the movie with my family made the experience even more special. As we sat together, laughing and enjoying the film, I realized how important these shared moments are. It wasn't just about watching a movie-it was about creating memories together, bonding over the jokes, and enjoying each other's company. It felt like we were all part of the story, living through the highs and lows with the characters. The movie sparked countless conversations and jokes afterward, and it became a topic of discussion for days.

The humor in the film was not just surface-level; it had depth and nuance. It didn't rely on cheap gags or slapstick humor, but rather on clever writing and well-executed comedic timing. The characters' interactions were what made the comedy so special. Whether it was the banter between two friends, the awkwardness of a romantic relationship, or the family dynamics at play, every moment felt real and relatable. We found ourselves laughing not just at the jokes, but at the situations the characters found themselves in, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

What made the movie even more impressive was its ability to balance humor with more serious themes. It wasn't just about getting laughs; it also explored deeper topics, such as personal growth, overcoming challenges, and the importance of staying true to oneself. These elements added a layer of richness to the film that elevated it beyond just a simple comedy. It was a reminder that life, while often filled with humor, also requires us to face our struggles and support each other through difficult times.

The movie's visual style was also something worth noting. The cinematography was stunning, with beautiful shots that added to the overall mood and atmosphere of the film. Whether it was a heartwarming family dinner scene or an action-packed chase, every frame felt meticulously crafted to draw the viewer in. The music was another standout feature, with a soundtrack that perfectly complemented the emotions and energy of each scene. The combination of visuals, sound, and performances created an immersive experience that made the movie even more enjoyable.

In conclusion, this film was a true gem that brought laughter, joy, and emotional depth to the table. Watching it with my family was an experience I'll never forget. It reminded me of the power of cinema to bring people together and create lasting memories. Whether you're watching it with friends, family, or on your own, this movie is a must-see for anyone who appreciates good humor, heartfelt moments, and a story that touches the soul.

I recommend.
