Nice Try

I wanted to like this movie. It had all the right elements. It had heart, it had sex, it had bitchy queens. What more could a fella ask for. I just couldn't get past the poor production values, the script, and the fact that I could not tell Matt and Mike apart. Were they played by the same actor? Was the Mike from the first scene where he had to park the car the same actor who played him later in the movie? Looks like they did a bait and switch or something.

I have never been much of a drag fan. Maybe because when I was coming of age every gay bar had to have a drag show on the weekends before the dancing and fun could begin. We never really had a choice. That is what made me think this movie took place in the nineties, that and all the flip phones. Does anyone know if this was a period piece or not?

I would recommend you watch the film, if only to see a slice of real life and clubbing. I know they say that that lifestyle is dying, but people will always need to be entertained and need to go out dancing with their friends. And where would all the bachelorettes go for their parties (where they can act so obnoxiously)? I guess we'll just have to leave the sex hook-up part to all the phone apps. So much more efficient anyway.

The best thing in the movie, for me, was seeing Eric Millegan again. He has been so out of the picture since he left Bones, it was nice to see he hasn't changed much (and is still a great actor).

Write a review and let us know what you think. I thought it was a worthy endeavor, but it seems all of us have seen it from some very different angles. Let us hear yours.

The usual

I'm amazed at the nine star rating. This is your standard crap gay movie, with an unlikely plot, a cast of third rate actors, poor direction, bad sound, choppy filming etc. There must be thousands of gay men and women working in the US film industry - can't half a dozen of them get together and make a decent gay comedy? I can only assume that the audience who, according to another reviewer "was laughing and clapping throughout the movie" must have been stoned out of their minds. OK the hero was passable, and the Puerto Ricon guy was really cute. And why do these sort of movies always have to have a screaming black queen? Not a very good advertisement for the gay black community.

boy gets bot, boy looses boy, boy dresses up like girl to win back the boy.

Lady Peacock is one of the funniest, sexiest, most real films I have ever seen. Besides every actor being incredibly and ridiculously handsome, It was the first time I have seen realistic problems of young gay adults portrayed on the screen. With out giving anything away, there is a particular scene with movie make up, which as a film nerd was incredibly real and consistent. Realism is defiantly the word for this film. Heart warming realism. It has been said that a film is only as good as it's Villain and when the villain is a gorgeous bitchy drag queen, you'll find yourself rooting for the bad guy in heels. Only watch this movie if you need your sides to split with laughter, a good cry, and or your life to change forever.

Very entertaining

Lady Peacock is probably one of my favorite movies ever now. As soon as the credits started rolling I knew I was in love and I needed to see it again. So I did, a week later. The music was mazing! The soundtrack is absolutely off the charts! I am obsessed! They just wanted us to like the movie, and I more than liked it, so they succeeded.

I was shocked about how amazing the voices were in the movie. I had no idea these actors had such amazing voices. Honestly, i walked away with some crushes in the movie.

Well worth going to see and can't wait to purchase this on DVD. I will be doing that asap.

Something Special

I absolutely loved this movie. Saw an advanced screening and the entire theater was laughing and clapping throughout the movie! Refreshing to see a comedy and musical combo. Great casting! Any college girl is bound to love it. This is a movie even my mom would enjoy. It held my interest throughout and i think it was well produced. My boyfriend even enjoyed the comedy aspect of it! A great girls night out movie choice or even a date night movie. I feel like overall everybody loved it, I definitely did. I hope this movie earns the recognition it deserves. Its going to be a hit among young audiences like myself! Overall, I would definitely go see it again and buy the movie. If you miss the classic Comedy movies go see it. Finally, a Comedy movie that does what it supposed to do.

Just a funny film

Just a fun film. If you're looking for a polished production, you will need to lighten up. Not the best acting. The drag lip sync and sound track makes this fun. I wonder if these guys had fun making the film. I'm sure the audience was also a sound track, at least that's what it sounded like. Total cliché gay film.
