2008-2012 was a great yet frustrating era to be a fan of Marvel cartoons. That brief period of time saw the premiere of some of the very best television that's ever adapted Marvel Comics: "The Spectacular Spider-Man," "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes," and "Wolverine and the X-Men." I both blame and cherish these shows for making me a true Marvel Comics fan.

Yet, all these truly marvelous shows concluded prematurely for infuriating bureaucratic reasons. "Spectacular Spider-Man" ended when Sony ceded some Spider-Man television rights back to Marvel. Meanwhile, "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" was canned to make way for the far inferior (and Marvel Cinematic Universe-synergistic) "Avengers Assemble." Lastly, "Wolverine and the X-Men" never made it to season 2 because the show's financing fell apart.

It has been a while since we have heard the incandescent phrase “Avengers Assemble” on the big screen. And we can’t really blame Marvel, as the MCU is still struggling to find a strong footing. Without a proper build-up like Phase 1, 2, and 3, one cannot expect to get a reaction as profound as the Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame movies received. However, Kevin Feige is definitely cooking up something with the MCU; a Secret Wars recipe that we can only smell from a distance for now.

With all the flops and disappointments at the box office, Marvel has taken a step back with the number of yearly releases to work on its quality. The five-issue Avengers Assemble series launched last September and ends this month after assembling an all-star team of heroes known as the Aveng.E.R.S., the Avengers Emergency Response Squad.

Among those reporting for duty have been Captain America (Steve Rogers), The Wasp, Hawkeye (Clint Barton), Hercules, She-Hulk, Photon, Wonder Man, and Shang-Chi, a group of Avengers that feels very McU-inspired. However, they've also been joined by obscure heroes like Night-Thrasher, Lightning, and Lightspeed (Julie Power).

Inspired by the team he pulled together during Blood Hunt, Avengers Assemble has seen Captain America take on a new initiative: recruiting new and classic Avengers for an all-new squad. Cap's team will operate out of Avengers Mansion and tackle one crisis after another on globetrotting superhero missions. 

The fourth instalment ended with a major cliffhanger when it was revealed that the Serpent Society had created a deadly toxin known as the Serpent's Tears.

The eternal battle between Marvel and DC has always been one of the main topics comic book geeks have been arguing about for years. Be it Superman against Thor, Batman against Iron Man, or any other match-up, fans still argue about which of them will win, theoretically. The interesting thing is that many characters that belong to both universes are either similar, possess similar powers, or have similar backstories.

Among these similar characters, two are aquatic superbeings- Marvel’s Tiger Shark and DC’s King Shark. Both strong hybrid creatures have fought the heroes of their respective universes and established their notorious reputations. However, there are quite a number of differences in talents, history, and fighting experiences that make this match worthy of further analysis.

Five Avengers got matching tattoos to celebrate Avengers: Infinity War, and yes, it was Scarlett Johansson’s idea. Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner all inked the Avengers logo. The tattoo artist Josh Lord ended up with one, too.

Robert Downey Jr. spilled the tea to EW. “Five of the original six Avengers got a tattoo,” he alluded, adding that the lone holdout was Mark Ruffalo. “It was Scarlett Johansson’s idea, and she and Chris Evans did it in New York. Then, their amazing New York guy, Josh Lord, who was amazing, flew out to LA, did me, did Jeremy Renner, and then we just bullied Chris Hemsworth into doing it, and he got it.” It’s a classic Avengers movie.

But it didn’t stop. Stuff got hilariously chaotic when each Avenger got to “contribute” to the tattoo.

For what feels like years, Marvel fans have discussed the possibility of a World War Hulk, with rumors appearing almost like clockwork every time a "scooper" wants to earn some delicious social media dollars. From time to time, a film made in the US will reach these shores with a slightly different title. Ford v Ferrari, for example, was released in Britain under the name Le Mans ’66 due to prohibitions on using brand names in British films. The Avengers was called Avengers Assemble, for fear that people might think someone had remade the terrible Ralph Fiennes spy movie of the same name. Zootopia was called Zootropolis because Disney apparently enjoys arbitrarily messing with people.

What I’m trying to say is this: there is precedent here. If an American film has a title that seems like it might be problematic, or misleading, or offensive, or rude, producers have no qualms with just changing the name to something else.

A new theory suggests that a new Avengers team in Marvel Comics could be the perfect representation of the upcoming team's roster in the live-action MCU. While the Avengers team was a staple of the MCU for many years after their formation in 2012's eponymous The Avengers, the team has been inactive since 2019's Avengers: Endgame, which took place in 2023 in the McU's official timeline. The Disney Adventure will set sail in 2025. Based in Singapore, the ship will have a castle, and now, it is Deadpool because Disney has to exploit any popular character until they kill it.

Deadpool will be part of the team of Marvel characters for the “Avengers Assemble!” show, which will feature heroes, villains, special effects, stunts, and three-deck-high LED screens.

This happened during the Captain America actor’s cameo appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. Evans popped up once again in the post-credits scene after his fun but short cameo in the film.

According to Reynolds, the post-credits scene would’ve blown the budget of the film out of proportion if he wasn’t wearing a mask.
