Cooking Crush

A poor(ish) culinary student and a rich med student. Put those 2 together and you get a cute relationship!! I LIVE for OffGun. I mean, who doesn't? If you've seen their previous works then you already know that it'll be a great paring.

STORY:

Third year culinary students Prem, Dynamite, and Samsi/Unky are the best of friends. They've been together since the 1st year of culinary classes. Trusting their friendship and skills, they join a cooking competition, known as Super Monster Chef (aka A BIG DEAL.) Prem then meets Ten, a med student. When Ten asks Prem for cooking lessons, he agrees due to money problems. What will happen when sparks begin to fly in the kitchen?

Let me start off with the chemistry. Nothing can go wrong between Off and Gun!! But.. Neo and Aungpao? Let me just- AHHHHHHHH!!!! I LOVEEE THEM!! Neo can have chemistry with just about anyone. Take the actors from Only Friends for example, you could ship him with any of them and I'd be like "I could see it." But they came to win their fans hearts and THEY DID. Aungpao is such a great actor and I'm excited for his future projects, whether its with Neo or not.

THE OST WAS SO CATCHY!! Everytime it played in the background I couldn't stop myself from singing "You give me a sugar rush, you're my baby crush!!"

NEEDS SOME.. FIXING.

The storyline was a little messy. The acting wasn't as good as other series, but I can understand with the script. The random time jump?? It could have been better. I would like to see more series where they're out of their college/high school days. Especially with OffGun. Cmon GMMTV!! They're in their 30's, lets see some more mature series which I know they can do with their potential.

Overall, this was a sweet, lighthearted series. I would recommend to those who just need a wholesome watch for a bit. Plus, the friendship between Unky and Metha was just AMAZING. I laughed at almost every scene of theirs.

Personally I enjoy this show a lot, we're at only two episodes right now but I'm looking forward to each sunday I get to watch it again. Off and Gun as always have the best chemistry and great acting, both fitting the genre and doing something very light after their last project Not Me, which was way darker. I like the comedy aspect, it's silly but not over the top and makes me laugh a lot!

The side actors are also interesting, Neo just being amazing as always and Aungpao does a good job on his first ever series!

The storywriting doesn't seem to deep in the beginning but by my knowledge of the story behind the novel, it will get deeper, more interesting and is supposed to focus on some society issues as well.

I hope everyone will give it a chance, no matter if you're into cooking shows or not. It's serious about the cooking part with workshops for the actors and real chefs being on set, the food shown so far looked really amazing!

This is Off and Gun going back to their roots in Puppy Honey while adding their new build up chemistry over the past years to their fun side. It's not as sad or dramatic as Theory of Love, it's not as serious and dark as Not Me, it stands for itself by being their next project that will prove they're here to keep working together.

Finally watching 'Cheum' and 'Boston' together, i wanted a sensuous encounter that did not actuate in 'Only Friends'. Neo was better without the forced BL trope. At least they should have casted Pepper instead of Pao for the triangle. Interaction between the leads is now seeming plastic moreover depth in character necessary to keep the plot running for so long was lacking for sure. A lot of fans appreciated childhood sweethearts trope for these uncles. Clearly it was one sided, wasn't it? I appreciate the support towards legalizing host service for multiple genders. From the point of a non native fan's view, Thai cuisine seems interesting. They would want to learn the process as well as meaning behind these dishes for example; Sweet Basil rice represents pungent love while Somtum means ahmn ahmn... (you know what i am saying) At least the production should have researched and exhibited menu popular from streets or exotic regional delicacies. The background score sounds childish and off tune, menderm le. Probably the script writers concentrated only on the common tool used by both professions, a blade. One uses it to save lives while other butchers organisms for food. Could someone explain the purpose of Victor and Apple? I am glad Mark chose to leave this project.
