You can't deny what it is: It's an teeny-movie designed for (guess what!) Teenagers. But after all it did surprisingly good job: The storyline revolving around a young teenager punk-rock-band who's only successful song is "If Inge Dances", a denunciating song about one of their classmates, of course is predictable & less innovative; nevertheless the synergy of the young (&quite talented) actors, a funny story-concept and a groovy theme song make this movie happen to be enjoyable. On top of that there a some jokes that do not only try to be funny, but are really funny in fact.
Overall you naturally have to admit it's typical German/European: Some party scenes, drugs, naked girls and boys; though in comparison with the average European teeny-movie this one is better by a little slice. And this little slice is vital.
So "If Inge Dances" can be recommended to everyone who likes (European) teeny-movies in general, punk-rock in particular or just likes to be entertained without a sophisticated plot to follow. Also a good recommendation for young couples.

Not a failure in the system either (roughly translated the first word of the title of the movie in English). And I was really surprised that I liked this. I didn't think it would be able to push the right buttons but it did. The movie is clearly aiming for a teen/young crowd (though a European one ... because there is a lot of drug references and a lot of nudity, male and female!) and achieves its goals.
Are there clichés thrown into the mix? Of course. Is it predictable? Yes it is. But it's still fun to watch despite all that and that is an achievement. The music may not be up your alley, but that should be something you can oversee. The film itself is really decent, believe it or not

Undiscerning German "Musikklamauk" in the tradition of these 70ies Ilja Richter, Rudi Carrell and whothehellcares movies. Gets lengthy which seems to be authentic with these musikklamotten as they all lose momentum.
However the female lead does carry the whole thing by being somewhat plausible in her role. Whereas giving Peter Kraus a guest role - who was quite big in these kind of movies back in the stoneage - was ment to be a hommage of sorts, but he is just not good. Or funny.
Giving this a 6 however for the quite good soundtrack. It is what is is and being just that it's entertaining enough.
