Some of the most popular anime of all time are frequently the longest-running series, with dozens, or even hundreds of episodes. Even when broken down into arcs, these shows can still feel like they take forever to finish--some arcs can be dozens of episodes. However, there are exceptions to the rule.
There are some anime arcs that don't take very long at all, often running for five episodes or fewer. These are often introductory arcs, or arcs that are meant to be a break from serious moments. These can often serve as low-investment ways to get anime fans into even the longest anime series.

For decades now, Shnen Jump has more or less become synonymous with good anime. Some of the most popular manga in the world are published by Shnen Jump and its affiliates, and that tends to result in their anime adaptations being of higher quality than others and, of course, receiving far more attention than any other anime airing at the same time.
Shnen Jump -based anime old and new are always at the center of discussions from fans and critics alike, but theyre not the only ones to ever come up in conversation. Plenty of manga outside the Shnen Jump label have taken off worldwide, and because of their popularity, many anime adaptations of shnen manga outside Shnen Jump have been incredibly great watches thanks to their stories and overall incredible direction, even more so than some Shnen Jump anime. Some of those anime have especially stood out over the years,...

When a series overtakes the manga it’s adapting, it becomes necessary to completely change the source material to keep the anime going, and in the best case scenario it leads to some of the best anime endings. When done wrong this involves inserting copious amounts of filler episodes that have nothing to do with the plot to buy time for the manga to catch up. Other anime will end with wholly original storylines that bring everything to an entirely different finish.
While filler and other non-manga content are often maligned, anime fans shouldn’t underestimate the creativity of show-original stories. Often, they make considerable use of the freedom granted to them to explore characters, create exciting spectacle, or even provide a better ending than the manga ever could. Both the worst and the best changes incite discussion among fans even years after they air.
