In today’s film news roundup, Blue Bug Entertainment makes a 15-title slate deal, production on “Tom, Dick and Harry: The Christmas Movie” is halted and Women in Media and Impact24 PR are staging a series of behind-the-scenes panels.

Slate Deal

Blue Bug Entertainment has partnered with American Content Media for the worldwide distribution of Blue Bug Entertainment’s slate of 15 animated feature films over the upcoming eight years, Variety has learned exclusively.

Three films will be green-lit for production per year, with the first film expected to be released in 2023. Production budgets are expected to average $15 million.

“Coupled with a strong partnership with American Content Media for wide theatrical release in the USA and sales internationally, this is a major breakthrough for animated film production and worldwide distribution for Blue Bug Entertainment and the Quebec Film Industry,” said Jean Aubert, CEO and producer of Blue Bug Entertainment, the Montreal-based animation company.

Scott Eastwood carries on his father Clint’s acting legacy in “The Perfect Wave.” The film, coming to DVD, Blu-ray, Digital Download and On-Demand Sept. 16 from Anchor Bay Entertainment, also features “Charlie’s Angels” star Cheryl Ladd as well as Rachel Hendrex (“October Baby”) and Patrick Lyster (“Black Sails”). Clint Eastwood's 27-year-old son, who created quite a splash after recently posing for a smoldering photo shoot in Town & Country, has posted a shirtless Instagram photo from the set of his movie Fury. "Trying to out flex the tank. Not workin'," the actor captioned the snapshot.Eastwood began filming the movie, which costars Brad Pitt and Shia Labeouf, earlier this month in London and will also appear in the upcoming surfer flick The Perfect Wave.

Exclusive: Scott Eastwood has joined the cast of Fury, the David Ayer-directed WWII tank battle ensemble that stars Brad Pitt, Shia Labeouf, Michael Pena, Logan Lerman and Jon Bernthal. Eastwood, son of actor-director Clint Eastwood, joins the drama about a Sherman Tank crew in the final weeks of World War II. Bill Block, John Lesher, and Ethan Smith are producing for Qed International and Sony Pictures is releasing. Eastwood will play the role of Sergeant Miles. He recently completed shooting the independent films Dawn Patrol and Walk Of Fame, as well as a two-episode arc on Chicago Fire.
