'Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas': Everything you need to know
In the era of the reset button, everybody loves a do-over, especially baby boomers, who can turn to spas, smoothies, surgeons and Spanx to keep reliving their eternal youth.

And no boomer loves a mulligan better than that Yuletide gremlin, the Grinch.

Born fully grown in Dr. Seuss' book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" in 1957, then given a new animated life by Chuck Jones in 1966 (there was a Jim Carrey movie version in 2000, but we'll leave that one unwrapped under the tree), everybody's favorite holiday crank has been terrorizing the sweet Whos of Whoville since the Cold War and shows no signs of slowing down now.

In all that time, two things have never changed about the Grinch: He starts out mad, then he gets glad. What happens in the middle is Christmas, which even old Grinchy-claws decries as an overcommercialized holiday, full of clanging bells and crashing cymbals.

‘Cinderella’ and ‘Santa Paws 2′ direct-to-dvd releases for the die-hard princess and dog lovers only
Blu-ray technology is a blessing and a curse. Because it’s now the standard in home media creation and distribution, the basis behind this innovation has perhaps become obscured. Some of the greatest films of all time have been given new life on Blu-ray, as recently as last week, for example. (One can only imagine how exquisite Lawrence of Arabia looks in high definition.) But film studios aren’t selective. Just about everything goes on Blu-ray now, for better or worse. So, the Walt Disney Company traffics in both the good and the…well, not-so-good. This week, they’ve offered up old and new entries in their direct-to-dvd catalog. Coming to Blu-ray for the first time is a duo of sequels, Cinderella II: Dreams Come True and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time. Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups, conversely, is a new film out right in time for the holiday season.

New on DVD and Blu-ray: 'The Expendables 2' and More
This week: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris and more aging action heroes are back to blow things up in the explosive "The Expendables 2."

Also new this week is a collection of Quentin Tarantino movies handpicked by the filmmaker himself, the Blu-ray debut of 1975's "Zorro" starring Alain Delon and a Criterion Collection edition of the formerly maligned/recently praised 1980 Western "Heaven's Gate."

'The Expendables 2'

Box Office: $85 million

Rotten Tomatoes: 66% Fresh

Storyline: Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and the rest of the Expendables (Jason Statham, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Liam Hemsworth and Dolph Lundgren) are sent by Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) to Albania to retrieve an item from a downed plane only to lose one of their own in an ambush by an opposing group of mercenaries led by Jean Vilain (Jean-Claude Van Damme). The action then moves to Bulgaria where...
