Amazon MGM Studios has signed a wide-ranging deal with Dallas Jenkins’ 5&2 Studios, giving the studio exclusive US streaming rights to the first five seasons and future of faith-based series The Chosen and new unscripted series The Chosen in The Wild With Bear Grylls for Prime Video.

The pact also includes theatrical distribution and streaming rights to new releases, The Chosen‘s final two season six and seven seasons, which follows the New Testament stories about the crucifixion and the resurrection.

On top of all of this, Amazon MGM Studios has inked a first-look series and feature deal with 5&2 Studios. Season 5 of The Chosen will hit theaters on March 28 during Holy week and drop on Prime Video this June. The series will be available on Prime Video in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Sub-Saharan Africa, UK, and Latin America at a later date this year. Ever since Luffy has been revealed to have the power of Sun God Nika, One Piece has been going through a contentious phase. Fans believe that being the reincarnation of the liberator of the One Piece world has put an obligation on him and has introduced the Chosen One trope in the series, which has disrupted the uniqueness and creativity that made Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus one of the greatest narratives in history.

Since the beginning, Luffy has been different from the other Shonen protagonists because he never followed the stereotypes. He never wanted to display himself as the hero or the protector of the world and was only focused on having fun on his journey as a pirate. There's sad news for fans of The Chosen on January 30 as the blessed series is departing Prime Video for the Promised Land. It's fair to say the show has grown into a cultural phenomenon, drawing acclaim for the way it has humanised the life of Jesus Christ and his disciples but, while the news of the removal from Prime Video is a blow, the good news is there's still plenty to look forward to. This weight is generally called the Chosen One Trope, which would not only remove the uniqueness in Luffy’s character as a protagonist but also disrupt the message that Oda has been trying to portray since the beginning.

However, what fans fail to realize is that Oda had rejected the Chosen One trope way before it became a part of Luffy’s character.

Chosen Ones have often been regarded in a negative light in recent years, especially among the shonen anime genre, as one of the oldest and most overdone tropes in not only fiction, but in shonen anime particularly, spanning across countless series. From One Piece, Naruto, and even My Hero Academia, Chosen Ones are the bread and butter of shonen protagonists and that's not a bad thing.

While the shonen anime genre is full of stale tropes, the most formidable and infamous trope of them all is the Chosen One, hands down as the trope makes the main character not only important to the world and its characters, but sets them apart from the rest as someone who has the fate of the world on their shoulders, for better or worse.

For the uninitiated, 'The Chosen One' is a narrative trope where one character, usually the protagonist, turns out to be the inevitable hero of the story fueled by destiny or lineage. The Chosen One mostly ends up saving the world. Sometimes, it goes slightly askew, like in the case of Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels or Paul Atreides in Dune.

No, Star Wars hasn't confirmed Palpatine was Darth Vader's true father. Back in 1999, viewers were taken aback when George Lucas added a Messianic layer to the Star Wars saga. He revealed Anakin Skywalker was the Chosen One, a being conceived by the will of the Force itself. The theme wasn't really fleshed out in the prequel trilogy, with Lucas avoiding explaining it. Yoda even suggested the Chosen One prophecy had been misread, leaving everything up in the air.

Every now and again, though, you may see claims online that Palpatine is actually Anakin Skywalker's true father. The idea is loosely modified from James Luceno's Expanded Universe novel Plagueis, in which Darths Plagueis and Palpatine combined their power to try to create life. The Chosen Season 5 is on its way to theaters, and its release plan may be familiar to fans.

AMC’s Gangs of London are back in action: UK broadcaster Sky has released a teaser trailer for Season 3 of the high-octane crime drama, which airs on AMC here in the United States.

Skeleton Crew, Disney+’s next live-action Star Wars series, will premiere a day earlier than anticipated.

The streamer has announced that the Jude Law vehicle will launch on Monday, Dec. 2 at 9/8c, with its first two episodes. Subsequent episodes will then drop Tuesdays at 9 pm Et, beginning Dec. 10.
