‘Atypical’ Renewed For Season 3 By Netflix
Netflix has ordered a 10-episode third season of Atypical, its critically praised series from The Goldbergs writer/co-executive producer Robia Rashid and director/executive producer Seth Gordon. The renewal comes almost two and a half months after the release of the show’s second season.

Atypical, from Sony Pictures TV, is a coming of age story that follows Sam, an 18-year-old on the autistic spectrum as he searches for love and independence. While Sam is on his funny and emotional journey of self-discovery, the rest of his family must grapple with change in their own lives as they all struggle with the central theme: what does it really mean to be normal? Season two starred Keir Gilchrist (United States of Tara) as Sam, Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight) as his mother Elsa, Michael Rapaport (Justified) as his father Doug, along with Brigette Lundy-Paine (Margot vs. Lily), Amy Okuda (How to Get Away with Murder...

Exclusive: Actress Bianca Saad Talks Hansel & Gretel Get Baked
This writer hit Gower Studios in Hollywood, CA, on January 30th last year to pay a visit to the set of director Duane Journey’s Hansel & Gretel Get Baked and while there chatted with one of the feature’s players, actress Bianca Saad. Read on for her take on the project and a new still.

Written by first-time feature screenwriter David Tillman and starring Twilight actor Michael Welch as “Hansel,” Molly C. Quinn as “Gretel” (see our previous interview with Molly here) and Lara Flynn Boyle (Men in Black II, “Twin Peaks”) as “Agnes” the witch, the film (formerly known as Black Forest: Hansel and Gretel & The 420 Witch) revolves around the latter character, a centuries old crone who lives in Pasadena, California, and lures teens into her house with a special blend of marijuana in order to eat the adolescents in an effort to maintain her own youth and beauty.

Timur Bekmambetov to Shoot 'Air Pirates' for Michael Bay
Back in 2010 Paramount reportedly paid out a six-figure deal for Heatseekers, a spec script by George Mahaffey that sounds kind of like Point Break, but in the sky: “the story follows a young ex-military pilot who infiltrates a gang of aerial pirates working out of Bangkok and takes part in an elaborate tower heist using powered gliders and parachutes.” There hasn't been a whole lot of forward movement on it since then, though that's understandable because Paramount has surely been busy trying to get the movies it has already made into good enough shape for release (here's looking at you, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and World War Z). But now the studio's reenergized the project by attaching Russian director...

'Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters': The Secrets Behind The Makeup
Famke Janssen
By Hannah Soo Park

Perfecting a shrilling cackle apparently isn't the only challenge that comes with tackling the role of a wicked witch.

MTV News' Josh Horowitz caught up with "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters" star Famke Janssen, who said that half the battle of playing Muriel, the movie's chief villain, was looking the part—and dealing with the makeup that came with it.

"I mean unless you've actually had prosthetic makeup on your face, it's this hypothetical idea of what that would be like, and it doesn't seem so daunting as the reality of it is," she said.

While taking on a whole other look is presumably freeing for an actor, Janssen seems to have experienced quite the opposite. "Really, it took a week or so to get into the whole mode of it and to get used to the whole circus of people that you have around you.

New Images from Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters
Led by Jeremy Renner (The Avengers) and Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace), Paramount will be putting Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters into Us theatres next Friday, giving an epic action fantasy/horror take on the classic fairy tale.

We saw a great new red-band trailer for the film at the start of the year, giving us a good look at the film, and why it deserves its R rating in the Us. And with just over a week to go before its release in the States, Yahoo Movies have debuted a handful of new images from the blockbuster.

“After getting a taste for blood as children, Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton) have become the ultimate vigilantes, hell-bent on retribution. Now, unbeknownst to them, Hansel and Gretel have become the hunted, and must face an evil far greater than witches… their past.”

Renner and Arterton look excellent in the leads,...

Jennifer Lawrence excited by cast reunion for X-Men: Days of Future Past, will finish Hunger Games sequel in March
Jennifer Lawrence said she's looking forward to working with her former X-Men: First Class co-stars in the next instalment of the franchise.

The actress played the younger Mystique in the 2011 superhero film and is reprising her role for X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

"It's going to be great to see everybody again. It's really exciting," she said at the BAFTA 2013 Tea Party in Los Angeles.

But the 22-year-old insisted she couldn't give away any plot spoilers ahead of filming.

"I have no idea, they won't tell me," she said.

Jennifer - who is up for a BAFTA for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook - is also working on the second Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire.

"We're kind of on a little break, we'll go back and finish principal photography in March sometime, I think," she said.

New Batch of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters Images Slay Online
I’m not sure if you can really classify “Dead Snow” director Tommy Wirkola’s Hollywood debut, “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters” as a horror movie. Though I suppose it kinda is. I mean, there are witches and demons and such. Those are technically associated with horror movies, kinda the same way the “Twilight” movies are horror because of the vampires, though there’s nothing overly horrific about either franchises. Unless, of course, you find teen movie franchises terrifying. Anyways, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, check out a handful of new images from Wirkola’s “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters”. It’s surprisingly not full of witches, go figure. 15 years after their traumatic gingerbread-house incident, siblings Hansel and Gretel have become a formidable team of bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world. Starring Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton, Famke Janssen,...

Hemlock Grove (2013)
Famke Jansen Welcomes You To 'Hemlock Grove'
Hemlock Grove (2013)
Like most, I first fell for Famke Jansen as the bone and ball busting Xenia Onatopp in 1995's GoldenEye. Since then, it's been endlessly exciting watching the leggy brunette cut a swath through Hollywood in a wide variety of films. But her genre work (from The Faculty to the X-Men series) has been the most exhilarating, which is why I'm doubly excited for her turn in the Netflix original, Hemlock Grove.

Eli Roth's gothic thriller (developed by Brian McGreevy & Lee Shipman) revolves around the eccentric residents of a dilapidated former Pennsylvania steel town and the murder of 17-year-old Brooke Bluebell.

Jansen can also be seen in this month's Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters as one of the tracked titular monsters; a film that provided her with the biggest test of her professional career. ETonline sat down with Jansen at The Television Critics Association Tour in Pasadena, CA earlier this week to talk about both roles, and whether...

'X-Men': Famke Janssen teases Jean Grey future

Famke Janssen has discovered her future as Jean Grey in the X-Men franchise. The actress said she was "waiting by the phone" to hear whether she would reprise her role from 20th Century Fox's first trilogy. She was coy about the possibility of appearing in The Wolverine, which star Hugh Jackman has teased will feature a cameo from one of his former co-stars. "I don't know," the Hansel and Gretel star told MTV News when asked whether she would be in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine follow-up. "I have no idea!" She said that she was yet to be told whether she was wanted to rejoin Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. "I'm waiting by the phone," she said. Review: Hansel & Gretel
Ah, The Asylum. The “mockbuster” experts have had some legal troubles recently. Back in the spring of 2012, after Universal filed suit over American Battleship, the company changed the name to American Warships. Last month, in response to legal pressure from Warner Bros., The Asylum changed the name of Age of the Hobbits to Clash of the Empires.

No such worries with Hansel & Gretel, not to be confused with Paramount’s Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, hitting theaters nationwide on January 25th. The Asylum version goes light on the witch hunting though.

Famke Janssen Says She’s Waiting to Hear from Bryan Singer About Appearing in X-men: Days Of Future Past
As the production start-date for the X-Men: First Class sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past looms closer, the film is starting to look more and more like a bridge of sorts between the period First Class story and the present day-set X-Men films. X-Men and X2 director Bryan Singer recently stepped in to replace Matthew Vaughn as director on the project, and we’ve been hearing about a number of X-Men castmembers who are set to make appearances in the ambitious superhero pic. Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellan are all confirmed to pop up at some point in Days of Future Past, with even more reprisals expected to be announced soon. One of the major players from the first trilogy of films was certainly Famke Janssen’s Jean Grey, and we recently spoke with the actress in anticipation of the release of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.

What’s the point of making them ‘mature’ if you don’t get the good stuff? Now that the new Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters red-band trailer has hit, I’m honestly a little worried.

I mean, is this the good stuff? The trailer gives us a little bit of blood, a few swear words, a public service announcement against taking candy from strangers, and Jeremy Renner going for swim. That’s about it. They really did need to give us something interesting to go on, because Hansel And Gretel continues to look like the Van Helsing of 2013 (or Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, whichever floats your boat).

The plot follows the young fairy-tale kiddies who burned a witch in her own oven into their adult years.

Movie News: Soderbergh Says Liberace Movie "Too Gay" for Hollywood; Manliest 'Man of Steel' Image Yet
Man of Steel: A new Superman will be flying into theaters on June 14, and we’ve gotten some pretty good looks at Henry Cavill as Clark Kent in Man of Steel so far. A new image is (perhaps) the most iconic we’ve seen, though, with Superman on a field of action with a faraway look in his eyes. [USA Today] Behind the Candelabra: As director Steven Soderbergh prepares to head into early retirement, he’s looking to go out on a high note. But he says that Behind the Candelabra, his low-budget biopic about famed Las Vegas entertainer Liberace, was “too gay” for Hollywood, which is why it will be debuting on HBO this spring. Michael Douglas and Matt Damon star as Liberace and his long-time lover, respectively. [The Wrap] Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters...

Second Red Band Trailer for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters Preaches an Important Lesson
It's important to learn from one's mistakes.

The original fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel told of a poor woodcutter's family, who are so poor that they leave their children in the woods to fend for themselves because they cannot afford to feed them. Abandoned, the siblings find a house made of gingerbread and sugar that houses a blind yet cannibalistic witch who wants to eat them. Instead, Gretel tricks the witch and burns her alive in her own oven and the kids live happily ever after.

The upcoming horror comedy Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters continues the siblings' story, taking Hansel and Gretel (Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton) into adulthood, where they are now trained witch hunters that are hired to defeat a coven of witches and retrieve the children they have abducted. As the title indicates, the movie is a tongue-in-cheek affair, and a bloody one at that,...

A little more backstory in red-band trailer for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters
The new red-band trailer for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters reveals a little more blood, a little more skin, and a little more origin for the fairy tale kids that grew up to kill witches.

As far as red-band trailers go, this one is pretty tame, but there’s some great new scenes that Jeremy Renner a chance to get funny, as well as a peek at Hansel and Gretel’s childhood home. Too bad there’s a witch waiting there for them.

The action still looks over the top, the weapons still stretch the imagination, and some of the lines are pure cheese, but the fact that this twisted fairy tale doesn’t seem to be taking itself too seriously could make it a lot of fun to watch on the big screen.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, starring Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton, Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare, and Zoe Bell, arrives...

Bridget Hoffman in Evil Dead (1981)
Latest Hansel And Gretel Trailer Arrives
Bridget Hoffman in Evil Dead (1981)
Gore blimey! It’s clearly been decided that today will be Red Band trailer day. We’ve already had the new promo for the Evil Dead remake, and on its heels comes another ad for Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters, which premiered over at Collider. It’s nowhere near as intense as the Dead trailer, and is filled with a lot of both dialogue moments and witch killing that we’ve seen before, but there is some fresh meat here.In particular, it goes further to convince us that Gemma Arterton’s Gretel is a badass not to be trifled with, and that the big threat in the film is tied to the tragic history of Gretel and her brother Hansel (Jeremy Renner). The big question for director Tommy Wirkola and writer Dw Harper is whether the film can overcome a vaguely worrying feeling of going through the motions...
