It had all the makings of a holiday camp classic. Lifetime's seasonal TV movie The Christmas Consultant stars David Hasselhoff as a green bow tie-wearing, bespectacled holiday hero who helps an overworked and overstressed family get through December.
But after bad reviews and a low-rated Nov. 10 premiere (just 1.5 million viewers), Lifetime quietly began scrubbing additional airings of the TV movie. Pre-emptions included a big Sunday primetime screening on Dec. 2. As a result, The Christmas Consultant wasn't set to air again until Dec. 25 at 6/5c — Christmas night, when presumably fewer viewers are watching TV or too juiced up on nog to appreciate it.

David Hasselhoff loves Christmas. And as it's his favorite time of year, it should be no surprise that Hasselhoff is starring in a Lifetime movie called "The Christmas Consultant.”
“My Christmas wish would be to have an entire week off. To spend it with my family and just curl up and watch Christmas movies when it’s showing outside,” David tells The Huffington Post. “I grew up in Chicago, and there was always snow. In Los Angeles there never was, so we would always import snow! I think it's a great time for me with my family. We always watch 'It’s A Wonderful Life’ and ‘White Christmas,’ spending it together.”
Importing snow isn’t cheap, but it’s not Christmas without it, David says.
“There is a snow-making machine that you can rent. Every Christmas, the kids would look forward to it, so I would cover the entire front yard with snow.

When you see a movie like "Piranha 3Dd," you know what you're getting into. You can expect excessive gore and even more excessive nudity wrapped in a hilariously campy package. Interviewing its star David Hasselhoff is another story.
Between "Knight Rider," "Baywatch" and the tabloids, the man is an icon of epic proportions, as he'll gladly tell you himself. But, regardless of how you see the aging star, he's still filled with ambition, ideas and a shocking amount of energy.
And he's in on the joke.
In the movie, he plays himself, hired to be the celebrity appearance at the opening day of a skeezy water park. Needless to say, he doesn't really want to be there. In reality, he's willing to laugh about similarly embarrassing gigs and, well, just about everything.
