Les Moomins sur la Riviera (2014)

Trivia

Les Moomins sur la Riviera

Edit
The same cast was used for both the Finnish- and Swedish-language dubs, as most of the actors are fluent in both languages.
The first view of Moomin is from behind, with just his bottom and tail visible. In the original comic strips, every new storyline was started in the same way.
The ending of the film references the final Moomin book, Moominvalley In November. Published in 1970, this was the only one of the books in which the Moomins did not actually appear. In the final pages the central character Toft sights the Moomins' boat far out to see, finally on its way home. In the film this scene is played out with Snufkin taking the role of Toft but the Moomins are seen to return home, finally giving closure to fans who had waited 44 years for their safe return.
Based on Moomin comic strip story called "Moomin on the Riviera". Written and drawn by Tove Jansson, it was first published by The Evening News in 1954.
Although the film is based on the strip "Moomins on the Riviera", plotlines and characters from additional strips have been incorporated to extend the movie. These include "Moomin's Desert Island", "Moominmamma's Maid", "Moominvalley Turns Jungle", and "Moomin and Family Life".
