I absolutely loved this. It's so incredibly sweet and charming. There's this layer of loving and forgiving yourself for whatever faults you believe you have that I think just about anyone can relate to. I think it's also an example of how difficult it is to attempt to love someone before you love yourself. The chemistry between the two leads, Lauren LaVera and Jack McCafferty is adorable.
Jack was also impressive considering he wrote, directed, and produced the film. I hope he gets all the flowers he deserves.
Also side note, if this movie catches more eyeballs, I expect smores Pop Tarts sales to skyrocket.

Just watched Dreaming of You and I'm genuinely impressed. Jack McCafferty absolutely nails it-funny, heartfelt, and super creative. The chemistry between him and Lauren LaVera felt so natural, and the way the film blends quirky dream sequences with real emotional moments totally worked for me. The animation was simple but really effective, and gave the whole thing a unique charm. It's rare to see an indie film that feels this personal and polished. Honestly, I didn't expect to relate so hard to a movie about a guy in a sleep study, but here we are. Highly recommend!
Great performance from Lauren Lavera!

I didn't expect to go through such an enjoyable journey with this film. These lower budget films always have the potential to be well written, well produced, and comical enough to engage the viewer all the way through, but let's be honest, they can fall short sometimes. This movie exceeded my expectations in all aspects of storytelling. It had me laughing out loud often, as well as sitting engaged in emotional silence at some of the more heartwarming scenes. It has everything a person should expect in a major motion picture that they would go see in theaters, despite being a low budget film. I was also thoroughly impressed at how well lit and produced the scenes were.
Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

I saw this film at its premiere at Dances with Films in Los Angeles. It was my favorite film I saw there. I had no idea what I was getting into, I just liked the poster. I loved it. I (and everyone else around me) laughed throughout the film. Not only that, I actually got a little emotional at the end. Wasn't expecting that. But it was a good kind of emotional.
The film has a lot of charm. It clearly didn't have a big budget (the q&a after confirmed that) but the amount of care that clearly went into it was unmatched. All the dream sequences have their own unique looks and the animation was really cool. It wasn't Disney, but I'm not going to an indie film for Disney. I want a more personal experience and that's what was on display here. It made me really hopeful for independent film oddly enough. If it released in the 90's this would have blown the hell up. But, modern movie business makes this more a diamond in the rough find.
Actors were great and I really bought into the love story. As I said, the ending hit me super close to home.
If you want a romantic comedy with plenty of laughs and that independent spirit, this is one to watch.

This movie was a personal favorite of mine this past year, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes romance or comedy or animation or drama or indie movies. The leads both give heartening performances that make you believe you are watching two sleep deprived folks find love. The actor playing the friend was also a standout performer in his limited run, he constantly had me laughing.
I wish I could see what this movie would look like with a full budget, because I have trust that this film crew would have absolutely crushed it. I look forward to more work from these actors and from the whole cast and crew.
