Was Will Smith and Eva Mendes’ on-screen Kiss in Hitch almost a disaster?(Photo Credit – YouTube)
During an interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Mendes spilled the hilarious backstory of their kissing scene. Nervous before filming, she calmed herself with a tuna fish sandwich, extra onions, and a side of Doritos—bad move. Smith, known for his charm and professionalism, was reportedly not fond of the scent. Mendes admitted, “I never asked you how it was?” to which Smith, ever the gentleman, replied, “It was wonderful.”
The moment became one of the film’s funniest behind-the-scenes stories. Mendes, realizing her mistake, popped some Altoids before the scene resumed. The minty fix worked, and their kiss went down in rom-com history. But for a moment, Hitch almost had an unintentional blooper reel addition.

Why Does Ryan Gosling’s Daughters Think He Is An Astronaut? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Back during the First Man days, Ryan Gosling had his daughters fooled—they thought he worked on the moon. Blame it on that iconic Neil Armstrong space suit. Gosling once shared the hilarious story during Jimmy Kimmel Live! “They came to set when I was shooting a launch scene. I was in the suit, pretending to blast off. My oldest pointed to the moon later and said, ‘That’s where you work, right?’”
Jimmy didn’t miss a beat. “The answer is, ‘Absolutely, yes,’ right?” Gosling laughed but played it cool. Meanwhile, Eva Mendes told Entertainment Tonight that they hadn’t corrected their daughters. “They think Poppy is an astronaut, and we’re rolling with it.”
The whole thing started while Ryan Gosling was filming First Man (2018), the Neil Armstrong biopic that retold the legendary moonwalk story.

Why Did Eva Mendes Step Back From Acting After 2014? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Eva Mendes was once everywhere on the big screen, but after her 2014 performance in Lost River, she quietly dipped out of Hollywood. Fans were scratching their heads—what’s up with the long hiatus? The answer: motherhood. It flipped her world completely.
In 2019, Mendes revealed why she pressed pause on her acting career. When an Instagram follower asked about a potential comeback, her response was refreshingly straightforward: “Hi! When there’s something worthwhile to be a part of.” She clarified that being a mom to daughters Esmeralda and Amada, whom she shares with Ryan Gosling, meant she had to be picky. “There are many roles I won’t do. There are many subject matters I don’t want to be involved with, so it limits my choices, and I’m fine with that.”
And it wasn’t some spur-of-the-moment decision.

Eva Mendes says she may consider acting again if the right role came along — as long as it involved working alongside her husband Ryan Gosling. In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, the actress known for titles like The Place Beyond The Pines and Hitch opened up about the challenges she faced early in her career and what might bring her back to film roles.
While Mendes says she was “never in love with acting,” facing barriers like typecasting and ethnic bias made her determined to prove herself. “They would say ‘she’s too ethnic for this, too ethnic for that,'” Mendes recalled of casting calls in her early career. This “fueled” her to work harder. Although times changed and “being Latina became cool,” the obstacles stayed with Mendes.
The Cuban-American star stepped away from films nearly a decade ago to focus on raising her two daughters with Gosling.

It would take the power of Ken to bring Eva Mendes back to the big screen. The actress hasn’t appeared in anything in nearly a decade, last taking a small role in her husband Ryan Gosling feature directorial debut, Lost River.
“I was never in love with acting,” Mendes explained of her career choices in a new interview with the Sunday Times. “I don’t mean this in a self-deprecating way, but I wasn’t a great actress. I had my moments when I worked with really great people.

Eva Mendes says the only way that she could be convinced to return to acting is if it’s alongside her husband Ryan Gosling.
It’s been a decade since Mendes stepped away from acting. Her last role was a small part in Gosling’s feature directorial debut Lost River. The actress’ last credit, though, was lending her voice to a 2021 episode of Bluey.
“I was never in love with acting. I don’t mean this in a self-deprecating way, but I wasn’t a great actress. I had my moments when I worked with really great people,” she said in an interview with the U.K.’s Sunday Times.
Mendes says her best work was opposite Gosling in films like Lost River and The Place Beyond the Pines, which is the 2012 film where they first met.
“He gets something out of me that’s never been accessible before,” she said.

Eva Mendes has been taking a lengthy break from acting, in case you haven't noticed. The star of movies like "Training Day," "Hitch," and "The Other Guys" has been on hiatus since her last project, "Lost River," released in 2014. So what would it take to get her back in front of the camera? It's pretty simple: let her work with her real-life partner Ryan Gosling again.
Mendes spoke to Laura Pullman at The Telegraph (she and Gosling are currently stationed in London while he films "Project Hail Mary") and revealed that she would definitely do another project with Gosling, even though she admitted that acting was never a great love for her. "I was never in love with acting," Mendes revealed. "I don't mean this in a self-deprecating way, but I wasn't a great actress. I had my moments when I worked with really great people." Eva Mendes admitted in an interview with The Sunday Times that she was “never in love with acting,” so there’s no real urgency to ending her 10-years and counting break from it. The actor has not starred in a feature film since a small supporting role in partner Ryan Gosling‘s 2014 directorial effort “Lost River,” although she lent her voice on a 2021 episode of “Bluey” on ABC Kids.
“I was never in love with acting. I don’t mean this in a self-deprecating way, but I wasn’t a great actress,” Mendes said. “I had my moments when I worked with really great people.”
As far as Mendez sees it, her best acting work came when she was starring opposite Gosling in 2012’s crime drama “The Place Beyond on the Pines” or when he was directing her in “Lost River.” She said: “He gets something out of me that’s never been accessible before.

The year was 2007. Peter "Lord of the Rings" Jackson was set to direct an adaptation of the bestselling Alice Sebold novel "The Lovely Bones." Saorise Ronan would play Susie, the 14-year-old girl who ends up being murdered by a serial killer named George, played by Stanley Tucci. She dies very early on in the movie and spends the rest of the time looking in on her family from the afterlife as they try to both mourn her loss and find her killer. The novel was incredibly popular, especially among women, so it wasn't a massive surprise when former Mickey Mouse-club heartthrob Ryan Gosling was cast as Susie's father, Jack. Sure, the 26-year-old Gosling was a bit young to play the father of a teenager, but fans of his film "The Notebook" would be sure to turn up for "The Lovely Bones."

Saoirse Ronan said she was “sad” when Ryan Gosling was dropped from the movie The Lovely Bones.
The actress ended up starring alongside Mark Wahlberg in the Peter Jackson-helmed 2009 film, which followed Ronan’s character, a young girl who was murdered and watches over her family and her killer from purgatory, as her loved ones struggle to heal. Wahlberg played her grieving father after Gosling was fired.
The Lady Bird star recently told host Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that while she didn’t get to film with Gosling at the time, they had “done some prep” prior to production starting. “I think I just loved Ryan. And his dog, George, and I was just sad that, you know, he wasn’t going to be around,” she said.
However, Ronan thought the reasons why the Barbie star and the director parted ways were “totally valid.” She added,...

Saoirse Ronan recently appeared on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast and remembered the dramatic casting switch that occurred during the making of Peter Jackson’s “The Lovely Bones.” The director originally cast Ryan Gosling as the father of Ronan’s protagonist, but the actor was replaced by Mark Wahlberg just days before filming after Jackson disagreed with Gosling’s decision to gain 60 pounds for the role.
Jackson never started filming “The Lovely Bones” with Gosling, but Ronan revealed the cast had already “done some prep” by the time Gosling got fired. Ronan had bonded with Gosling and was sad to see him ago.

Is Eva Mendes fully retired from acting, or will she step back in front of the camera again sometime in the future? Honestly, she's not sure.
10 years after her last film appearance — in her partner Ryan Gosling's directorial debut, "Lost River," where she plays a supporting role as a dancer named Cat — Mendes thinks she had a pretty good run and doesn't appear eager to mess with her acting legacy. While speaking to George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America on September 17 to promote her children's book "Desi, Mami, and The Never-Ending Worries," Mendes indicated that she might be done for good.

Matt Smith has a face made for film and TV, one that the camera can't help but focus in on, which has ensured fans have gotten a good look at the actor's mug, and many have noticed that Smith's eyebrows have thinned to the point they're almost not even there. Smith has had a meteoric rise to stardom, beginning in the 2010s. First, he became known to a select, but fervent, group of fans when he took on the role of the Eleventh Doctor, one of the more likable variants in the Doctor Who franchise.
As popular as he was in Doctor Who, it was his performance in the first two seasons of The Crown, as Prince Philip, that showcased just how talented of an actor he is. Films like Last Night in Soho and Morbius paved the way for what is currently his crowning achievement, Daemon Targaryen in House of the Dragon.

Eva Mendes is known for her insanely good looks and has often been considered one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. The Hitch star is known for her roles in films such as Ghost Rider, We Own The Night, and The Place Beyond the Pines, the latter of which was where she met her future partner Ryan Gosling.
While it has been a while since she has starred in any film, Eva Mendes was the subject of a tabloid rumor back in 2007. The actress was reportedly rumored to be pregnant after being seen by paparazzi with a ‘bump’. However, the actress denied the claim back then and Evan promoted body positivity by speaking about how putting on a little bit of weight was not that big of a deal.

Ryan Gosling has been killing it on the career front with his performance in last year’s Barbie garnering much praise, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He won hearts at the Oscars this year with his rendition of the Oscar-nominated song ‘I’m Just Ken’, with celebrities such as Emma Stone and Margot Robbie joining in on the fun.
However, one person who was not present was Gosling’s partner Eva Mendes. Though the actress was seen near Gosling’s dressing room, she was notably absent at the ceremony while the Barbie star was bringing down the roof with his performance. Now, an insider stated that the couple were headed for a breakup and that they had separate lives.

Despite receiving negative reviews, Lost River deserves a second chance or to be newly discovered by fans of Ryan Gosling. The film centers around a family struggling to survive in a desolate Detroit and is filled with mystery, underground worlds, and the meeting of eroticism and violence. While Lost River may not be a carbon copy of Gosling's previous works or the filmmakers that inspired it, it showcases his versatility and willingness to embrace various forms of artistic expression.
Ryan Gosling has become one of Hollywood's most beloved and revered actors thanks to his versatility, which can see him playing polarizing roles, such as Driver in Nicholas Winding Refn's Drive to Ken in Greta Gerwig's Barbie; his handsome look and vibrant personality certainly does not hurt either. Four-time Oscar nominee and indie darling Saoirse Ronan revealed in a recent Harper’s Bazaar UK interview that she’s keen to star in a comedy soon, referencing Paul Feig’s “Bridesmaids” and the Larry David-created sitcoms “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” as her favorite comedic projects.
“I would love to do something modern and funny,” Ronan said. “But to be able to do comedy well requires so much skill and musicality. I don’t necessarily think I have that yet — although as I’ve got older, I am more comfortable and confident to try.”
Ronan is best known for her dramatic roles, and has earned Academy Award nominations for “Atonement,” in which she plays the petulant and jealous younger sister to Keira Knightley; “Brooklyn,” which follows a young Irish immigrant navigating life in 1950s New York; “Lady Bird,” in which she stars as a headstrong teenager at odds with her mother; and finally,...

The Winter King cast brings together a diverse and exciting ensemble to bring the first in the trilogy of Bernard Cornwell's King Arthur novels to life. The show looks to be the latest medieval television hit with MGM+ releasing the series with the first season consisting of 10 episodes which will debut on August 20, 2023. The Winter King is based on The Warlord Chronicles by The Last Kingdom author Bernard Cornwell. Though a historical fiction, The Winter King cast will bring to life some legendary characters who audiences are certainly familiar with.
There have been many King Arthur movies over the years with each project looking to tell a new version of the classic hero. The Winter King begins with the first book in Cornwell's trilogy (also titled The Winter King) and follows the young Arthur who has been banished from the kingdom as a warlord and seeks to protect the throne.

There are many Hollywood couples who fell in love on set, having taken their on-screen chemistry and translated it into their lives off-screen together. Some of the biggest names in the business met on film or television sets and are still together to this day, with even more having since separated. This just makes the projects they met and fell in love on all the more special as viewers can almost see where the actors turned from co-stars into lovers, their chemistry palpable and strong. In some cases, the relationships could even increase the project’s popularity, as viewers want to bear witness to the start of an off-screen love story.
When actors are working closely together for long periods of time, especially when playing love interests, it's easy to understand how they fall in love. There are even many co-stars who viewers have speculated as being together off-screen, whether they are or not,...

Fans felt disappointed when the Good Girls cast ended their run on the sitcom with an unfinished story. The NBC sitcom premiered in 2018 and focused on the lives of three suburban mothers who attempted to make more money to support their families, and they decided to do it illegally. However, their plan to rob a local supermarket ended up catching the attention of a mobster gang that used that supermarket as a front. As a result, the women ended up caught in a series of heists and their lives were never the same.
However, after four seasons and 50 episodes, NBC canceled Good Girls after a cliffhanger, meaning fans will have to deal with never seeing how the story was going to end. Despite its cancelation, fans still loved the show and that was proven when it was one of the most-watched shows on Netflix when it moved there (via Forbes...

Despite the franchise’s focus on family and friendship, there are several actors in the Fast and Furious saga who have abandoned their characters in the past over a wide variety of disputes and arguments. Although plenty of these actors ultimately returned to their roles and came back to the franchise, several departures have caused serious shake-ups to the story that directors and writers have worked hard to integrate into the long-running story of Dom Toretto and his crew.
There’s been lots of behind-the-scenes drama in Fast X, and even in the movies that came before it, and this has been the reason for many actors drifting away from the franchise over the years. It’s no secret that lead actor Vin Diesel strongly values his creative control over the movies, and that’s led to several disagreements with his co-stars over both narrative decisions and on-set working conditions.

This post contains spoilers for "Fast X."
It is the beginning of the end for the Fast Saga as "Fast X" has hit theaters, serving as the first part in what will be a two-film finale to the long-running series. Though Vin Diesel has indicated that it could turn into a trilogy. In any event, Universal Pictures is beginning to wind things down with Dom Toretto and the gang. As expected, that means a lot of familiar faces from the past are going to reappear before all is said and done. But one wildly unexpected face did make a return, albeit in a very "blink and you'll miss it" sort of way. Depending on how things shake out, it does suggest a possible, more meaningful return in "Fast & Furious 11."

In order to play the role of Nebula, the murderous mostly-android character in James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies, actress Karen Gillan had to undergo a lengthy and uncomfortable makeup process. According to makeup artist David White, Gillan's facial prosthesis was constructed of five specially fitted plates that would be glued to her over the course of about four and a half hours. She also had to wear incredibly thick contact lenses to black out her eyes and, to accommodate the cranial appliances, shave her head. Gillan shaved and remained bald throughout the shooting schedules of each of her Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances.
This meant that she was without hair throughout most of 2013, when the first "Guardians" movie was being filmed. One can find photos of that film's premiere, and see that her hair was still growing out.

The actor has not starred in a feature film since a small supporting role in partner Ryan Gosling’s 2014’s directorial effort “Lost River,” although she lent her voice to a role on a 2021 episode of “Bluey” on ABC Kids. Mendes appeared on “The View” and said her potential return to acting would have specific requirements.
“I have such a short list of what I will do, with four kids,” Mendes said (via Entertainment Weekly). “I mean, if it was a fun project. But now I won’t do violence, I don’t want to do sexuality, the list is short.”
“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin asked Mendes if she would end her acting break if a “special project” came her way that met all of her requirements, to which the actor answered, “I hope so.

Even since big-name actors such as Robert Redford or Clint Eastwood took their shot at sitting in the director’s chair, numerous others have followed suit with varying degrees of success. For every film a la Ryan Gosling’s “Lost River” that most people would sooner or rather forget about (if they haven’t done so already), there’s a breakout smash such as Olivia Wilde’s “Booksmart.” The prospects seem rather exciting when you hear that a talented actor like Halle Berry will be making their debut with a “female-heavy” mixed martial arts film.

In the 10 years since the release of Nicolas Winding Refn’s “Drive,” the lives of two key figures behind its pivotal soundtrack, Johnny Jewel and Cliff Martinez, have changed for the better, thanks to the film.
“Before ‘Drive’ coming out, I was standing by the freeway with a cardboard sign that said, ‘Will score for food,’” jokes “Drive’s” composer, Martinez, a sometimes drummer in Red Hot Chili Peppers, and one of Steven Soderbergh’s go-to composers. “I wasn’t exactly struggling, but I would go for months without work. My popularity ebbs and flows, but for the most part, I’m much more popular than I was before 2011.”
“For those of us in the underground, ‘Drive’ was huge,” says Jewel, who has two key songs on the soundtrack — “Tick of the Clock,” with his former band, the Chromatics, and “Under Your Spell” with his other band, Desire.
