Darin Brooks, Ryan Doom, and Natalie Hall in L'amour fait sa loi (2012)

Cute

I never heard of a premise like this before, so I have to give it credit for that. On the other hand the ending was predictable. Then there's the famous "what's my favorite color" line.

Darin Brooks was exactly what he was supposed to be which included some great funny moments. He and Natalie Hall had great chemistry. Jen and Kevin's story was super sweet. Jen was a different person with Bryce and not very likeable. Not just sad, but weak. I think that's great story telling because that's what guys like that do to nice ladies.

Points off for makeup especially on Natalie Hall. There were a couple of scenes where I thought she was just about the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, but in most scenes, especially at the beginning, her facial tone was way off. It looked like she used a cheap spray on tan and then added too much red on her cheeks. It was very distracting.

A waste of a good idea which are getting few and far between at Hallmark.

Love can come calling even disguised and seven years late.

This is a quirky, charming unexpected delight.I'd like to say it is predictable, but it isn't. The characters surprise you in some ways. There are some people even in today's world that remain in their childish ways, refusing to accept responsibility for anything in their life. Darren Brooks is one young man who never stepped up to accept the fact that everyone around him has grown up and moved forward. His childhood friend is successful and being the life-long friend she has always been offers him her place to crash at until he "finds himself" Fast forward. And seven years have gone by. George Wendt from Cheers lives next door and your childhood friend has grown into a beautiful young woman, Natalie Hall. Just when she is about to marry is when our slacker begins to see what he's been missing in his life, even though she's been there the whole time. It is told around the world every day in hundreds of other people's lives..Love can be standing in front of you. You just have to open your eyes. You could be surprise. Good TV movie and a good two hours well spent.

A Spot On Performance by Darin Brooks

A funny, charming, and touching flick.

Pros:

1) I loved everything about Darin Brooks performance, down to the way his hair was groomed.

2) Excellent chemistry between Brooks and Natalie Hall.

3) The screenplay wasn't totally predictable.

4) The villain's role (Ryan Doom) wasn't overdone.

Con:

1) George Wendt received top billing along with the two leading characters, for what amounts to an extra's role. (I almost gave the film a 9 (out of 10) rating instead of 10 because of this.)

charming

Darren Brooks makes this film. He has the innocent humour of a young Jerry Lewis, and his timing is perfect. This young man should be looked at by the major studios and put forward for more prominent roles.

The film itself is charming and one you could lose yourself in for a couple of hours.

it is what it is

This is fun romantic romp between two long term friends. Came to see this for natalie hall, but got to say darin brooks stole the show. Both were a delight. This is a hidden gem that is well worth the watch. I love good romantic comedies and this is something different than most.

When Hallmark at least tried!

An early Hallmark movie, and a lot of fun it is too. A different plotline, with a solid, often humorous script, and a standout performance from the male lead make this very watchable - more than can be said for most Hallmark fare. Along with The Dating Coach, it's one of their few movies to show that decent films can be made on a low budget.
