Singer-composer Amit Trivedi, who has come out with his new album ‘Songs Of Trance 2’, has talked about the Gen-Zs taste of music and described it as “constantly surprising.” Talking about the music the young lot like, Trivedi told Ians: “They have always surprised. What I perceive they would like they don’t like. What they like is so unexpected and unpredictable. They always challenge you.”

He recalled how the Gen-z surprised him by choosing the music of ‘Qala’ over ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’, which he says was created keeping in mind the 18,19 and 20 years old.

The audience may love Anurag Kashyap’s two-part magnum opus ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ but Anurag, the poster boy of independent films, “hates” it.

The auteur recently graced the Cannes premiere of his film ‘Kennedy’ where it received an 8-minute standing ovation.

Talking about the experience of having ‘Kennedy’ screened at Grand Theatre Lumiere in the midnight screening section, Kashyap made a self-deprecating joke mentioning his last film ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’.

He told Brut India: “It was really overwhelming, it’s my first film at Theatre Lumiere with 2,500 people appreciating the film. The numbers were more than the entire audience that saw my last film ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’. I broke that entire record in one screening.”

He further spoke about ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ which is perhaps his most successful film.

Indian auteur Anurag Kashyap is back in Cannes with thriller “Kennedy,” starring Rahul Bhat in the title role.

The film, which also stars Sunny Leone, will play in the Midnight Screenings strand of the festival. Several films directed by Kashyap have played at Cannes, including “Psycho Raman” (2016), “Ugly” (2013), “Bombay Talkies” (2013) and “Gangs of Wasseypur” (2012). In addition, several films produced by him have made it to the Croisette, including “Masaan” (2015), “The Lunchbox” (2013), “Monsoon Shootout” (2013), “The Congress” (2013) and “Udaan” (2010).

The plot of “Kennedy” is being kept under wraps at the moment. “Kennedy is a ghost in the system looking for redemption,” is how Kashyap describes the film to Variety.

The filmmaker says that the character of Kennedy has been an obsession with him for years and was born when fellow Indian filmmaker Sudhir Mishra hired him to write a cop story set in the 1980s. That film never got made but the character stayed with Kashyap.

Actress Alaya F is currently seen playing the lead role of Radhika, a reporting intern in the supernatural thriller movie ‘U-Turn’. Her character has been given an assignment to investigate accidents that are happening at the U-turn on a particular flyover.

She said that there is a lot of pressure of playing the lead role in any project as a lot is expected from the actor by the makers so there is an added pressure. Alaya also added that she is happy to be part of a cinema with more and more projects being made around female protagonists.

The actress was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport where she was seen flying out for a film shoot outside the country.

Donning a simple yet stylish fashion ensemble, Alaya F was spotted wearing a black denim jacket, beige pants, and a crop top at the airport. Lately, the actress has been running a tight schedule, fulfilling film and brand commitments.

Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal (“Uri: The Surgical Strike”) has been revealed as the titular DJ in influential Indian filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s “Almost Love” (“Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat”).

The film had its world premiere at the 2022 Marrakech Film Festival and Asian premiere at the Hainan Island International Film Festival. It is an India-u.K. co-production set across both countries and follows two love stories in parallel universes that face challenges of social status, caste, religion and inequality. It also marks the “Gangs of Wasseypur” filmmaker’s return to the romantic musical genre with composer Amit Trivedi, with whom he memorably teamed on “Dev.D” (2009).

Despite its festival outings, Kaushal’s star presence in the film has been a closely guarded secret so far. The two storylines in the film are interconnected by a podcast called Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat. The DJ talks about the need for love in times of hate.

Actors Alaya F and Karan Mehta have shared their experience of shooting for Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’ in extremely cold conditions in Gulmarg. Talking about shooting in sub-zero conditions, Alaya said: “The weather was extremely erratic. It was snowing one day, then the next day was bright and sunny, then there was heavy rainfall the following day.”

But the harsh weather did not stop the film’s crew from being creative.

Alaya recalled: “It was a wonderful learning experience seeing Anurag sir adapt to every weather condition and not let it hinder the making of the film.”

She added: “It was a one-of-a-kind experience because one day we were freezing, and the next day we were drenched. There were also times when we could barely see where we were going due to dense fog. It was always a distinct experience and an amazing adventure which made for the most incredible memories.

The Good Bad Films production had its world premiere at the Marrakech Film Festival in November. It stars Alaya F (“Jawaani Jaaneman”) and debutant Karan Mehta.
