Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 Hires Controversial Screenwriter
Image
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 gets a new update, with a controversial writer having been hired to pen the script. Based on the beloved children's book characters created by A.A. Milne, the first Blood and Honey was released in 2023, becoming a viral hit due to its twisted take on the material.

Made on a shoestring budget, the first film achieved box office success, leading to the release of Blood and Honey 2 last year. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 was confirmed after the sequel's strong performance, but few concrete updates have emerged since.

Variety now confirms that controversial filmmaker Richard Stanley will write the Blood and Honey 3 script. The report also claims that the film is eying a production start in early 2026. Stanley shared the following statement about joining the franchise:

“I am wildly excited to be joining Scott Chambers and his creative team as screenwriter on the mind-wrenching third installment of a beloved,...

Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey 3's Controversial Writer Raises All Kinds Of Questions
Image
One of the most unlikely success stories in film in recent years is undoubtedly "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey." Directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, the ultra-low-budget slasher movie, which put a violent spin on A.A. Milne's beloved creations, went viral before the movie even arrived. It took off like a rocket, spawning an entire so-called Twisted Childhood Universe from the folks at Jagged Edge Productions. Part of that includes "Blood and Honey 3," which has just brought aboard a new, albeit controversial, screenwriter.

According to Variety, Richard Stanley has been tapped to pen the script for "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3," which is set to begin filming early next year. Scott Chambers, who produced the first two movies, is now set to direct the third installment, with Frake-Waterfield staying on board as a producer. The new entry is also said to carry a bigger budget than the first two,...

The Best “So Bad It’s Good” Horror Franchise Is Returning for More Bloody Madness — and It Just Tapped Richard Stanley to Write the Script
Image
The outrageous horror series “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” is charging ahead with its third movie, and it’s about to get even bloodier. Variety reports that “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3” will be written by Richard Stanley, best known for “Color Out of Space” and “The Island of Dr. Moreau.” Production is planned to start in early 2026, with ITN Studios and Premiere Entertainment managing sales.

This time, Scott Chambers, who produced the first two films, will be directing. Rhys Frake-Waterfield, the previous director, is still involved but will focus on producing instead.

Stanley said he’s thrilled to be part of the project. “I am wildly excited to be joining Scott Chambers and his creative team as screenwriter on the mind-wrenching third installment of a beloved, blood-soaked saga that has revitalized independent genre film production in the U.K. The Hundred Acre Wood will never be the same again!”

Image

Winnie the Pooh Voice Actor, 72, Breaks Silence About 'Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey'
Image
Winnie-the-Pooh voice actor Jim Cummings breaks his silence as he shares his thoughts about the horror remake of the iconic children's character. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honeyfirst came out in theaters in 2023, transforming an adorable yellow bear into a gruesome killer. While this feature was poorly received by fans and critics alike, Cumming shared his thoughts on the feature and was somewhat fair about it.

In an interview with The Direct, the voice actor was asked about his thoughts on Blood and Honey, to which he gave a fair response. While the Disney voice actor acknowledged that there would be people who would be pleased to tear this feature down, he also saw the artistic side of it, which was not worth "throwing rocks" over.

"It's... I don't really have an opinion of it. I saw about 10 seconds of it. And I think somebody always enjoys tearing down and stepping on...

Natasha Tosini
Viral Haunt has been retitled The Haunting at Jack the Ripper’s House, and Bloody Disgusting has not one but two exclusive trailers for the found footage horror film below.

ITN Distribution’s official preview centers on the horrors surrounding the Jack the Ripper legend, while producers Taw Entertainment’s alternate trailer shows more of the influencers’ reactions to the terrors that await them.

Natasha Tosini, who’s head was run over in Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, and Stephen Staley, who was among the slashed-up ravers in Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, co-wrote and co-directed the UK film.

“With the new title, we’re leaning even deeper into the terror and mystery that surrounds Jack the Ripper’s legend,” the filmmakers tell Bloody Disgusting. “And now, with the trailer officially out, audiences can finally get a glimpse of the horror that awaits.”

Mickey Slasher ‘Mouseboat Massacre’ on VOD Now from ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey’ Studio
Image
Not to be confused with The Mouse Trap, The Mouse Experiment, I Heart Willie, or Screamboat, Mouseboat Massacre is yet another indie horror movie exploiting the recent public domain status of Mickey Mouse’s debut, Steamboat Willie.

Great ready for the last ride of your life, because the UK supernatural slasher is now available to rent or purchase on Amazon.

It follows a young woman battling a drug addiction who suddenly begins to see a mutated mouse-human hybrid who infests her life as those around her drop like flies.

From Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey producers ITN Studios, Andrea M. Catinella (Piglet) directs from a script by Harry Boxley.

“This is balls-to-the-wall mayhem. We have really gone for the gore in this movie and think audiences will be very pleased with how nasty the mouse can be,” comments producer Rene August. “One death features an actual literal human sized mouse trap...

(Trailer) Popeye Returns To Haunt a Group of Friends in a Summer Samp in New Slasher ‘Popeye’s Revenge’
Image
Well, it looks like Popeye has officially entered the public domain, and with that comes the inevitable low-budget horror adaptation. The beloved spinach-loving sailor is the latest classic character to be transformed into a slasher villain, following in the footsteps of Winnie-the-Pooh and Peter Pan.

The film, titled Popeye’s Revenge, takes the familiar formula of turning childhood icons into nightmare fuel. If you’re curious—or just can’t look away—there’s already a trailer out for it.

Popeye’s Revenge is described by ITN Movies as a “horrifying take on the classic character,” though that may not mean what they think it does. This isn’t horrifying because of its scares—it’s horrifying because it’s essentially Friday the 13th with Popeye in the killer role.

The film follows a group of friends hoping to open a summer camp, only to be haunted by the legend of Popeye.

'Popeye's Revenge' Review: No Brains or Brawn
Image
Spinach is scarce in Popeye's Revenge. So is a cohesive plot and any form of shrewd execution. But the kills are brutal, the misogyny is ugly, and the plot is lost somewhere in the current vendetta to butcher some of history’s finest fairy tales and comic book characters. It began with director Rhys Frake-Waterfield, who is at the helm of the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey films. Here, it's evident that screenwriter Harry Boxley was using the films he previously penned as horror foreplay. Popeye’s Revenge is a bloody mess, both figuratively and literally.

The executive producers of the Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey movies fuel this endeavor, which attempts to offer a brand-new and horrifying take on the classic character created by E.C. Seger nearly 100 years ago. Directed by William Stead (Children of the Night), the story finds a gaggle of teens trying to survive the "legend...

We just reviewed Mouse of Horrors, and now its co-writer Harry Boxley, who has also given us the likes of Tsunami Sharks and The Madness of Humpty Dumpty, is back with Piglet. Yes, another attempt to cash in on the Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey franchise from its distributor ITN.

Apparently set in America despite the characters’ British accents, the film opens with a condemned criminal making their escape from custody and heading for a cave in the woods where they don a familiar looking mask in preparation for the arrival of some victims.

They don’t have long to wait before Kate and her friends Judith, Alex, Dianne (Alina Varakuta; Whisper in the Dark) and Susie arrive to celebrate Kate’s 21st birthday.

Written and directed by Jeffrey's co-producer Rhys Frake-Waterfield, the first installment in The Twisted Childhood Universe debuted in February 2023 to very negative critical responses, with many labeling the movie among the worst ever made.

In an interview with SFX magazine via GamesRadar, Jeffrey fiercely defended Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, recounting the hard work that went into making it. The producer believes that some people who claim not to like the horror parody did not give it a chance, and many of those who did liked what they saw, gaining the franchise new fans. "We had to really grow a thick skin, especially on Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood And Honey. People were saying we were lazy on all this," he said. "People might not like it,...

How 'Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare' Sets Up the Future of the Poohniverse
Image
Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh existing in the same cinematic universe might seem strange enough, but how about both of them going on murderous rampages? Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare, directed and written by Scott Chambers, is the third installment in Jagged Edge Productions'"Twisted Childhood Universe" (Tcu). Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare was preceded by Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023) and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey II (2024), which, if you could not discern from the titles, see the beloved children's character Winnie the Pooh (originally from the books by A.A. Milne and E. H Shephard) turn violent.

The Tcu, or "Poohniverse" as it is also called, is all the brain-child of British filmmaker Rhys Frake-Waterfield. When Winnie the Pooh (which was originally published in 1926) entered the public domain in 2022, the material became fair game for a horror spin. Now, the Razzie-winning series shows no signs of stopping and...

New Peter Pan Movie's Surprise Success Means One Of Horror's Weirdest Trends Isn't Ending Anytime Soon
Image
The success of Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare has cemented one of horror’s most peculiar trends: reimagining beloved childhood stories with a dark twist. The trend gained momentum with Jagged Edge Productions’ original film, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. The success of that film has birthed what’s now known as the Twisted Childhood Universe of upcoming horror movies. Scott Chambers’ latest addition to the Tcu has been a surprising hit in theatres, as it explores Peter Pan’s darkest roots by turning him into a psychotic child kidnapper who longs for Neverland.

Reviews for Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare praise it for perfectly balancing its twisted premise with realistic undertones, all elevated by Chambers’ stylistic and other-worldly cinematography. Peter Desouza stars in Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare as Michael, brother to the flawed heroine, Megan Placito's Wendy Darling. The franchise’s third box office success suggests the reimaginings of...

Scott Chambers gives info on Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 and Alice the Mad
Image
We had heard that director Rhys Frake-Waterfield and producer Scott Jeffrey Chambers were planning to create a cinematic universe with the Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey films and other horror movies inspired by children’s stories, like Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, Bambi: The Reckoning, and Pinocchio Unstrung. Then, Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios officially announced that this cinematic universe, which is being referred to as The Twisted Childhood Universe, is building up to the crossover movie Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, which will be released in 2025. Chambers has said that the Mad Hatter will be one of the “worst of the worst” in Poohniverse, and during an interview with Screen Rant he took a moment to talk about the Mad Hatter horror movie Alice the Mad, as well as the upcoming Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 – which is actually a Tigger solo movie!

Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood And Honey 3: Confirmation & Everything We Know
Image
The controversial mascot horror series Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey isn't over yet, and there are already details about the upcoming Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3. Debuting in 2023 with the eponymous first film, the conceit of the slasher horror franchise is that writer A.A. Milne's classic character, Winnie-the-Pooh, has been transformed into a murderous monster. This is only possible thanks to the character entering the public domain in the 2020s, which has allowed director Rhys Frake-Waterfield to put his own twisted spin on the beloved children's stories.

Made on a tiny budget and shipped out quickly to capitalize on the public domain horror craze, 2023's Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey was summarily lambasted by critics and garnered a sub-10% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite this critical infamy, it managed to become something of a sleeper box-office success, which spurred Jagged Edge Productions to quickly green-light a sequel with a slightly elevated budget.

"Mad Hatter Becomes Obsessed With Her": 'Alice the Mad' Story Details Revealed by Poohniverse Director
Image
The Twisted Childhood Universe (Tcu) is growing by leaps and bounds with the success of each new film in the franchise. While Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey introduced the idea of a universe comprising of favorite childhood characters acting as as the bad guys who love violence and gore. The sequel Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 expanded it with new characters and a wider fanbase. The third flick in the franchise, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare is haunting theaters now, but producer and one of the directors in the franchise, Scott Chambers, is hard at work with the next entries in the universe which will culminate with a blood bath in Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.

Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare's Peter DeSouza-Feighoney Was "Shocked" At Latest Tcu Installment
Image
Peter DeSouza-Feighoney is bringing a twisted take to another classic children's character in Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare. The Scott Chambers-directed film sees the young actor play Michael Darling, the typically innocent and playful youngest sibling of the Darlings. In familiar Twisted Childhood Universe fashion, DeSouza-Feighoney's take on Michael is reactionary to the chaos going on around him.

The Tcu is a franchise already familiar to DeSouza-Feighoney, as he previously portrayed young Winnie-the-Pooh in Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2. He seems to have found his staple role in the larger world in the form of Michael Darling, as he is set to reprise the character in Pinnochio: Unstrung later this year.

Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare Scott Chambers Reveals Major Tcu Crossover Plans
Image
Scott Chambers is in the director's chair for Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare. The latest installment in the Twisted Childhood Universe, a film franchise that also includes horror-ified takes on classic children's characters like Winnie-the-Pooh, follows versions of Peter Pan (Martin Portlock) and Tinker Bell (Kit Green) who abduct children in order to bring them to Neverland.

Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare represents Chambers's first time helming one of these projects. The Essex native previously produced both Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and its sequel, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2. He starred in both projects as well, portraying Christopher Robin. Chambers is slated to produce future Tcu stories including Bambi: The Reckoning and Pinnochio: Unstrung.

'Poohniverse' Director Was Surprised by "Hate Messages" & Backlash
Image
Upon its debut in 2023, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey faced a lot of backlash from fans and critics who blasted the film as being nothing more than a quick cash-grab using the public domain to turn our beloved childhood characters into slasher villains. When Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 came around in 2024, the tone changed a little as people began to appreciate what Rhys Frake-Waterfield, Matt Leslie, Scott Chambers, and the entire crew at Jagged Edge Productions were attempting to accomplish. However, it was that initial reception that Chambers says caught everyone off guard.

MovieWeb caught up with him to discuss the latest film in The Twisted Childhood Universe (or Poohniverse), Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, which sees Chambers behind the camera as director instead of in front of it like he was in Blood and Honey 2 as Christopher Robin. He served as a producer on the first movie, which at...

'Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood & Honey 2' Director "Threw Up" During Filming
Image
Practical effects can be a wonderful addition to horror films when done right, as we saw in such 2024 hits as Terrifier 3 and Alien: Romulus. There's just something about having that gore right in front of you instead of it being generated by a computer that makes the moment feel all the more real. The results can oftentimes be so realistic that they make the filmmakers and actors sick to their stomach, as was the case in Damien Leone's film, and in another 2024 gem: Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2.

MovieWeb recently caught up with Scott Chambers (seen below) to talk about his directorial debut in the Poohniverse with Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare. Along the way, the subject of Blood and Honey 2 came up, and it was then he revealed that creator Rhys Frake-Waterfield was so disgusted by one sequence in particular in the sequel that it made him lose his lunch.

Winnie-the-Pooh's Horror Crossover Character Update Raises The Stakes For This Massive Event (With A Huge Risk)
Image
More characters keep joining the upcoming massive horror crossover event Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, and the most recent character update raises the stakes for the film but comes with a huge risk. The superhero genre is credited for the popularity of connected universes, and an unlikely one was formed not long ago in the horror genre. In 2023, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey was released, a horror version of the beloved children’s character who entered the public domain a year before. Despite not being the critics’ favorite, Blood and Honey’s popularity made way for a franchise appropriately named The Twisted Childhood Universe.

The idea for the Twisted Childhood Universe is to produce horror movies centered around characters from children’s media, such as Peter Pan and Bambi. The purpose of this is for all of them to meet in a massive crossover event titled Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, projected for a 2025 release.

'Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare' Review: The Latest Horror Adaptation of a Childhood Icon Is Too Grown Up

The "Twisted Childhood Universe" (also known as the "Poohniverse"), is undoubtedly charting a course for a vast expansion in 2025. Since striking internet gold with Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey and continuing the momentum with Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey II, creator Rhys Frake-Waterfield hasn't let the viral success of the series go to waste. Now, an extended universe based on horror versions of classic children's characters is expanding with Bambi: The Reckoning and Pinocchio: Unstrung, but not before the franchise's first deviation from the Blood and Honey films — Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare.

Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare Review: The Blood & Honey Universe Is At Its Best When It Doesn't Play Things So Straightfaced

The Twisted Childhood Universe has been one of the most fascinating introductions to the horror genre in recent years, and Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare is its latest installment. Peter Pan’S Neverland Nightmare Q&a with Director / Writer Scott Chambers

From Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare arrives in theaters for three days only starting January 13th from Iconic Events Releasing. Ahead of the theatrical release, we caught up the film's writer and director, Scott Chambers, to learn all about the making of the film:

The Poohniverse is expanding to cover new twisted childhood stories. How did Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare come about as the newest entry and your latest directorial effort?

Scott Chambers: Peter Pan will feature as one of the main villains within Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, and with that filming in 2025, we wanted to introduce the audiences to him before that movie. Going into Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, we want audiences to already feel a certain way toward Pan. So it was important to release this film prior.

‘Mountain Shark’ VOD Review
Image
Stars: Stephen Samson, Angela Wilding, Stephen Staley, Andy McQuaker, Ema Ekaete, Julia Quayle, Emily Felicia Moore | Written by Ken Daly | Directed by Greg Ak

Mountain Shark opens with a couple wandering along a path in the hills when they stumble across a body with a small bloodstain on it. The only clues as to what happened are a shark’s tooth and a strange metal device on the corpse. That’s enough to send them running, although once we see the CGI fin slicing through the ground, we know they’re doomed.

That is both an exciting and problematic development for Dr. Eric Nesbitt and Major Jennifer Hawkes (Angela Wilding). Exciting in that the creature they created is still alive, problematic in the fact that it’s out of control and needs to be killed without compromising the project’s secrecy. The solution is to bring in what are supposed to be highly trained soldiers,...

New Children's Character Joining Winnie-the-Pooh's Horror Franchise Can Make 1 Wild Theory Come True (With A Twist)

The Twisted Childhood Universe continues to expand, and as it continues to add more children’s characters with a horror twist to bring them all together in a crossover event, a new character has been teased to join – and thanks to that, a wild theory about them can come true but with a key twist. The 2023 horror movie Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey boosted a trend in horror of making horror versions of children’s characters and stories.
