Totally Killer is an upcoming time-traveling slasher film directed by Nahnatchka Khan, who previously helmed Always Be My Maybe and Ali Wong: Don Wong. Kiernan Shipka, Julie Bowen, and Olivia Holt will star in the movie. Blumhouse and Amazon Studios will produce Totally Killer to continue a deal between the two studios in 2019.

"With Nahnatchka's vision and the exciting cast led by Kiernan Shipka and Olivia Holt, we are confident Totally Killer will resonate with our audience around the world. It may still be over two months until Halloween, but that hasn’t stopped Disney+ from getting in the holiday spirit. A batch of 20 family-friendly horror films have dropped on the streaming service recently, providing you with an abundance of frights to get you gradually geared up for the best night of the year, with a few stand-out entries worth looking out for.

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad is one of many anthology pics Disney released in the ‘40s, and is best remembered as a Boomer equivalent of Watership Down, The Dark Crystal or The NeverEnding Story in the “movies that traumatized children” category. Its first segment is based on classic kids book The Wind in the Willows, but the second, more relevant half adapts Washington Irving’s famous short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, with its rich but dark animation and foreboding tone and music terrifying many of its young viewers.

The Stand is shaping up to be one of the series of the decade.

Even having already airing in the longer format on television, the cast and knowing the story will get the streaming treatment and can take more risks than was formerly done on broadcast makes this event series quite an attraction.

Plus, some faces we adore are joining the already-announced cast.

CBS’ digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service, today announced that Eion Bailey, Katherine McNamara and Hamish Linklater have joined the cast of its original limited event series The Stand.

It is, of course, based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel of the same name.

They join previously announced cast members James Marsden, Amber Heard, Odessa Young, Jovan Adepo, Owen Teague, Henry Zaga, Brad William Henke, Alexander Skarsgård and Whoopi Goldberg.

Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios, has acquired North American rights to the dramedy Pretty Broken. Pretty Broken debuts on VOD and will be available to rent and own on North American digital HD internet and satellite platforms through Freestyle Digital Media on March 1, 2019. Pretty Broken will also be released theatrically in Los Angeles on March 1st and will be available on DVD.

Pretty Broken tells the story of Lindsey Lou (Jillian Clare), an unemployed, college drop-out on the verge of divorce who finds herself couch surfing at her childhood home while her family grieves the death of her father. Pretty Broken, a heartfelt dramedy feature film for the entire family from Leonian Pictures and Resonance Productions, will screen at the Portland Film Festival on Friday, October 26th at 7:30 p.m. in Portland, Oregon.

During Freeform’s 2017 Upfront presentation, the network released a number of trailers for its upcoming series, starting with a first look at the hotly anticipated Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger.

The show, set to premiere its 10 episodes in early 2018, tells the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), two teenagers with newly acquired superpowers that are somehow linked to each other. Joe Pokaski (Heroes) serves as showrunner, with Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb, and Jim Chory (Marvel’s The Defenders) as executive producers.

The Mortal Instruments book series by Cassandra Clare is one of Maddy’s favorites. It’s about a a teenage girl, Clary Fray, who has angelic blood allowing her to protect the world from demons as a Shadowhunter. Even though the 2013 movie City of Bones (based on the first book in the series) didn’t really work out that well, we were still pumped for the Freeform (the new name for ABC Family) series based on the books. It stars Katherine McNamara (Girl Vs. Monster) as Clary, Alberto Rosende as Simon, Dominic Sherwood (Taylor Swift’s “Style” video) as Jace, and Harry Shum Jr. (Glee) as Magnus Bane. But the question is…did first 2 episodes of this fantasy meet our expectations? Watch to find out.

“Girl Meets World” stars Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter have both been cast in separate Disney Channel original movies, the network revealed on Friday.

Carpenter, 15, will star alongside Sofia Carson (Disney’s “Descendants”) in “Further Adventures in Babysitting,” which is inspired by Elisabeth Shue‘s cult 1987 adventure-comedy “Adventures in Babysitting.” Blanchard, meanwhile, who is just 13, is set to star with Paris Berelc (“Mighty Med”) in the live-action adventure-comedy “Invisible Sister.”

Both films are set to begin production this spring during a hiatus for Disney Channel’s “Girl Meets World” and Disney Xd’s “Mighty Med.

Edmund Kingsley is set for his first lead role in writer-director Andrew Martin’s debut feature Capsule. The son of Oscar winner Ben Kingsley will play an experienced fighter pilot who is in command of Britain’s first manned mission to space at the height of the Cold War. He ends alone in space with a malfunctioning capsule, limited contact with the UK, unusual communication with the U.S. and some unorthodox communication with Soviet Russia. The cast also includes Lisa Greenwood and Joseph Baird. The film is produced by Paul D. Forrest and executive produced by Mohammed Patel, Omar Qamar, Stuart Wilkins and Waseem Zaman. Kingsley’s credits include Hugo, Stonehurst Asylum and TV’s The Borgias and Endeavour. He is repped by Independent Talent Group.

One of my fondest memories growing up as a young horrorphile was catching as many scary movies and fright-filled specials as I could during the month of October in order to prepare for Halloween night. "When parents leave their children alone for the first time, they are full of worries about what the kids will do. In Parental Guidance, they were more worried about what trouble the grandparents would cause! Billy Crystal and Bette Midler make a charming and hilarious couple as "the other grandparents" desperately trying to win the trust and affections of their grandchildren played (quite well might I add) by Bailee Madison, Joshua Rush, and Kyle Harrison Breitkopf. Director Andy Fickman has filled this film with great holiday fun for the whole family - even a cameo by Tony Hawk! With laughs for all ages throughout and a message of the true meaning of family, we all could use a little Parental Guidance this season.
