Not epic, not engaging
I haven't reviewed in a while and although this film is already ranking so low I still needed to get my thoughts out. I've liked other Snyder productions but Rebel Moon Part I was bad and part II was even worse. The first installment left such little impressions that I completely forgot there'd be a second part.
Well, I thought, why not see it through to the end? (And I sure hope this is the end of rebel moon) There is no engaging story, there are so many plot holes/nonsensical scenes and/or dialogues.
Most of all, I never cared. I was never made to care for the protagonists, the village, the "heroes" and I was never made to feel fear, anger or dislike for the antagonists.
A few good special effects (outnumbered by many poor ones) and the slow motion scenes were painful. The score was boring and predictable.
I feel bad for a couple of actors who I assume tried their best. With such a poor script and such poor direction I'm not sure how they could've done anything different.
I surely hope this is the last of rebel moon. Netflix should spend its money on more quality productions.
This was not an epic story, just an epic fail.
