I was impressed by the detail work that had to go into "Connected". Very good production values - the cinematography, editing, juxtaposition of scenes, choice and accuracy of settings (to include NY plates on cars - it was shot in Cleveland).
It looks good and flows well. Great special effects - the shootings, knife to cutting throat, guy struggling under water, etc. Actual progression of the seasons over several months. Pay phones and other throwbacks.
Good casting and acting too. In appearance and manner the extensive cast fit their roles, and the quality of the acting is very high. There were well-staged bar scenes, a fight scene that looked real, and a couple of small children who were natural in their role, along with excellent adult actors in the major roles. It was believable.
The story line is basic mob movie with a twist. It held one's interest, but the most impressive part was the production values.

Connected, is a more believable version of A Bronx Tale. It does flow, slowly pulling you in, at times you may even wonder where it's headed.
Before you know it, it pulls out of a nose dive and races to its climax. The ending will leave you shaking your head in disbelief. The foreboding, the Easter eggs, you soon realize that the plot was thicker than you ever imagined.
The triple twist ending is probably one of the best endings I have ever seen in an Indie film. Writer/Director, Michael Eric masterfully delivers a combination of realizations that will leave you wondering why you never saw it coming!
This film has renewed my sense of suspense and disbelief. I look forward to seeing what Michael Erik has in store for us.
