    Utterly terrible

Most other reviewers have read some book they keep mentioning. They view the movie as some fantasy retelling of the book they enjoyed.

The MOVIE, IS, UTTERLY TERRIBLE. It's just stupid. There is no chemistry between the two leads. The guy just cannot emote anything. He's a bore. He's supposed to be good looking but that doesn't make him attractive.

They have nothing between them. It's entirely contrived nonsense. It doesn't follow the romantic comedy formula for a movie. It's virtually unwatchable. The characters are poorly written.

It's not funny and it's not romantic. It's just a really bad movie.

Great romance, could have had even more spice

This is the spicy romance novel Wait with Me by Amy Daws brought to life by Passionflix, who handled it with their usual care and attention to detail/dialogue!

The acting was great and the on screen chemistry between Madison Lawlor and Andrew Biernat was off the chart thanks to some great casting and delicate directing.

The story is about Kate an author who writes erotic romance under the pen name Mercedes Lee Loveless. She still technically lives with her ex-boyfriend, who is away for the summer, because she does not want to give up her house which is situated next door to her best friend Lyndsey and in the neighborhood of her other best friend Dean.

With her breakup house having bad mojo, Kate has been unable to finish her next book...enter Tire Depot where like writing magic she gets her groove back and is incredibly productive in their "comfort center" with free pastries and coffee. She sneaks in for weeks working on her novel and eventually meets the hot mechanic Miles. These two unlikely friends strike up a friendship that becomes friends with benefits. The problem, Miles isn't ready for a relationship and thanks to his lying ex is very distrustful of women who lie...and Kate, while trying to fly under the radar at Tire depot, introduced herself as her pen name Mercedes and is trying to bravado her way through being a girl who is ok with casual sex.

The romantic story was great and these two had chemistry for days...the only thing I would have liked more of was spice. Don't get me wrong, it has spice...I just wanted more. Otherwise no complaints. I know I will be watching it again and I can't wait to see what Passionflix is going to turn out next!

Highly recommend to romantics and friends of romantic fiction...you'll love it!

A fun, sexy, RomCom with terrific acting across the board!

I love this series so was looking forward to the movie and was NOT disappointed! Andrew Biernat was made for the role of sexy "book boyfriend" Miles Hudson. Madison Lawlor nails the role of "smut writer" Kate Smith, AKA Mercedes Lee Loveletter, who loses her ability to finish her latest erotic novel until she visits Tire Depot.....and then gets her writing mojo back, but has to continue sneaking into the "comfort center" for free coffee and cookies to finish her book. And this is where she meets sexy mechanic, Miles. But. She introduces herself to him as her pen name, Mercedes. Of course we know THAT's going to create problems down the road.

There's laugh out loud moments (like when Kate's author friend has pizza secretly delivered to her at Tire Depot) and the friendship between Kate, Lynsey (Jordan Blair Brown) and Dean (Caleb Slovak) and between Miles and best friend Sam (Laith Chaz Wallschleger) all work well. I particularly loved the scene where Dean confesses his attraction to Kate. But the real star of this movie is the chemistry between Andrew and Madison as Miles and Kate, struggling thru "friends with benefits" and catching feelings along the way. These actors absolutely deliver with authentic, believable performances and capture the audience from scene number 1.

This story is a slow buildup to the realization that Miles (who has sworn off relationships after his disastrous last one) can't resist charming Kate (Mercedes to him) and starts to fall hard....leading up to her EX coming back to town to taunt them (terrific drunk "Dryston" scene by James Knight) and the realization that Miles didn't know the REAL name of the woman he was falling for.....

In summary, I highly recommend this latest PassionFlix original, it sticks very close to the book as PassionFlix productions always do, with terrific acting throughout. Andrew will make you swoon and realize Kate/Mercedes never had a chance to resist the sexy mechanic, Miles Hudson.

    One of PF's Best

Totally unpopular opinion but as an avid PF original subscriber I've watched every movie and show- and I find (with the exception of the earliest movies) anything directed by Tosca herself is just tough to watch. A couple take exception here but in general they feel slow moving, forced acting and I just don't fully enjoy them.

As I watched Wait With Me I was shocked how much I was loving the movie, then I looked it up and realized Musk didn't direct this, ding ding ding.

I truly don't say this to be mean, it's just a preferred style of directing - with the exception of Resisting Roots, which is also not directed by Musk herself (but woof that was a rough one to get through and I've worried more would go this direction- tho admittedly I think casting had more to do with the issues for that movie)- and Tosca doesn't hit the mark for me. This one just WORKED. The style, the cast, the flow- it was pure enjoyment from the get. Also a fabulous book- so that helps!

I haven't reviewed a lot of these movies because honestly I have a love hate relationship with a few as of late... (pls bring back the early days of Hollywood Dirt, Afterburn and Matchmaker's Playbook!!) but this one was worth a rave! Thanks for this PF. Now, can we get the rest of the books? There's a thousand Gabriel.. I'm just asking for 2 or 3 of Amy's now!!

Grandma would be totally into it

    I have many thoughts:

With that said: second watch? I'm more into it. It helps that I really like this book and series and have read over a dozen of the author's books. It's cute and the Mercedes/Kate and Lindsay actors are spot on and they do seem like they've been friends for ages. The actor playing Miles is very good-looking and was a good cast. I think with a different accent and maybe a little more direction or line-reading, there's more to be had there. The actor playing Sam stole the show with his background faces in the bar. I was laughing so hard.

So much of the dialogue is directly from the book and it's great. If you haven't read "Wait With Me" and you like cute romcoms, I highly recommend it.

When I first watched this movie, I tore it apart in my mind. There were some shots I would have not lingered on so much and some scenes I would have preferred were shot differently. I daresay that the love scenes in the movie would have been better to be all foreplay with very few full body shots. I'm not saying fade to black, but the angles that the scenes were shot at could have been tweaked. The bad ADR DID take me out of it. Additionally, the song playing over the motorcycle ride does not fit the vibe of the scene and is too loud over the rest of the sound.

The actor playing Dean was miscast or mis-styled. I don't know if it's the hair or the beard or the glasses, but there's something that's not quite right with Dean's style. Maybe we'll have another movie in the series with opportunity for improvement.

In all: We have a 7 because it's cute and sweet if we don't worry about the love scenes. We want more/better angles, better styling on the men, and just a bit more polish on everything.
