Keanu Reeves is one of Hollywood’s most humble and honorable actors. He isn’t just any favorite action star; he’s the internet’s ultimate soft-spoken legend. From dodging bullets in The Matrix to taking down armies in John Wick, he’s the guy who can save the world and still give up his subway seat. But beyond the world of stardom, fan edits, memes, and breathtaking quotes lies a tragic story.
Reeves’ life journey through love and unimaginable loss isn’t just heartbreaking, it’s honestly haunting. His real-life romance with Jennifer Syme was pure magic until it shattered with the stillbirth of their daughter, followed by Jennifer’s tragic death just a year later.
And through it all, he never turned bitter, only quieter, kinder, and more grounded. It’s the kind of pain most people never recover from, yet Reeves carries it with humility and grace.

Netflix's Ancient Apocalypse: The Americas highlights several major archaeological discoveries. Chief among these is the uncovering of geoglyphs etched into the Amazonian landscape. Geoglyphs are human-made features, usually earthworks, created on the surface of the earth. They may involve digging trenches or clearing or adding stones or earth that create a contrast between the creation and its surroundings. They're identifiable from the ground but most visually striking from the air.
Celebrated, but somewhat controversial, archaeologist Graham Hancock is Ancient Apocalypse: The Americas author and guide, and he has his own views about the geoglyphs and their place in human history. He makes the point that the Amazon's 6.7 million square kilometers have only been fractionally explored, but in those areas where forest clearing has been prevalent, new geoglyphs are being found that suggest human civilization not only existed in South America long before previously thought, but also those civilizations were...

Season 2 of Ancient Apocalypse, subtitledThe Americas, was among Netflix's October new releases, and it is already proving just as controversial as season 1. Ancient Apocalypse is hosted by Graham Hancock, a British journalist who is known for his unconventional beliefs about the history of human life on Earth, but actor Keanu Reeves also had a brief cameo this season. Season 1 was released in November 2022 and explored Hancock's theory that there was once an advanced civilization that was killed off during the Ice Age.
In Ancient Apocalypse - The Americas, Hancock held the same belief, although this season focused on Hancock's theories based on the White Sands footprints. Specifically, Hancock argued that, based on the fossilized human footprints found in White Sands, New Mexico, and estimated via carbon dating to be between 21,000 and 23,000 years old, he had evidence that his ancient civilization theory was true. Although the show has proven popular,...

The Netflix original docuseries Ancient Apocalypse just released its second season, titled Ancient Apocalypse - The Americas. As was Ancient Apocalypse season 1, Ancient Apocalypse - The Americas is hosted by journalist Graham Hancock. Although Ancient Apocalypse season 1 has gained some popularity among Netflix documentaries on the paranormal, the show has also received extensive criticism. Among the issues brought up regarding Ancient Apocalypse season 1, critics have most heavily voiced concerns about Hancock's 'pseudoarchaeological theories,' suggesting that Hancock's claims are unfounded.
Despite the controversy, Netflix pushed ahead with season 2, and the show shockingly incorporated beloved actor and star of the John Wick movies Keanu Reeves into the new season as well, although only minimally. Like in the first season, in Ancient Apocalypse - The Americas, Hancock is arguing that there was an advanced human civilization that flourished during the Ice Age. Graham Hancock’s Netflix series Ancient Apocalypse takes viewers on a fascinating journey across the Americas, investigates intriguing archaeological finds, and presents ambitious theories about humanity’s distant past. Though it may raise more questions than answers at times, the show remains engrossing.
Over six hour-long episodes, Hancock travels from New Mexico to Brazil to Peru and beyond, sharing insights from both renowned researchers and fringe thinkers.
He aims to prove that advanced civilizations existed long before those officially acknowledged by history. Evidence uncovered—like the mysterious geoglyphs carved into Amazon earthworks or the enormous cyclopean stones forming Sacsayhuaman in Peru—certainly gives one pause.
Hancock argues humans roamed the Americas as far back as 23,000 years ago, contradicting many accepted timelines. While scientists debate the validity of his interpretations, the documentary thoughtfully examines their ongoing work. Keanu Reeves makes a brief but pleasant appearance, adding enthusiasm. Beautiful cinematography also brings each striking locale to life.

Fall is here, which means it’s time to bundle up on your couch and stream the weekend away. Let’s get into it: There’s plenty to enjoy in October on Netflix, from a new Ali Wong special to new seasons of shows like “Love Is Blind” and “Unsolved Mysteries.” The real unsolved mystery is how it feels like there is more “Love Is Blind” dropping every month, but I digress.
October also brings with it the chance to watch Season 1 of “Yellowjackets” (a Showtime hit) for the first time on the Netflix platform, as well as more “Outer Banks” and “The Lincoln Lawyer.” The best bet, however, is the return of Keri Russell.
Top Pick: “The Diplomat” Season 2

The controversial documentary series Ancient Apocalypse is returning for a second season on Netflix, and this time actor Keanu Reeves is along for the ride. This season will see journalist Graham Hancock look to unearth evidence that an advanced civilization was once here on Earth and lost to time more than 10,000 years ago. The search brings him to the Americas, where he'll visit New Mexico, Peru, Brazil, and other locations in the hopes of making discoveries.
This series initially debuted back in 2022, and now it has the star power of Reeves to help draw in more viewership. Hancock has also appeared on episodes of Joe Rogan's podcast to promote his views. Reeves explained to Hancock in the brief teaser trailer how he's always felt like the timeline was off, so that could explain why he's on board and trying to discover new things. Exclusive: The international boss of ITN Productions (Itnp), the production outfit behind Prince Harry: The Interview, has detailed scripted ambitions including a desire to make a show that breaks free from its factual-led comfort zone.
ITN produces the ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 news in the UK but has built up a mini production powerhouse over the past few years, making hundreds of hours of fast-turnarounds, documentaries, and factual entertainment shows including for major streamers, while broadening its U.S. offering. Itnp has now entered the scripted space, unveiling its debut drama, Cush Jumbo-starring Lifetime movie Girl in the Video, late last week.
Ian Russell, who runs the international operation, described the scripted move as a “natural evolution” for the near-15-year-old production outfit, which feels “incremental and comfortable.”
The plan had been in the offing for a while, building on Itnp’s success in the true crime and royal game.

There are two very different sides to Netflix. On the one hand, there’s the glitz: the prestige-laden films by venerated directors (Roma; The Irishman; The Power of the Dog). The glossy hit series like Stranger Things or Squid Game. But then there’s the other stuff. Just as crucial to Netflix’s business model – perhaps more crucial – is the streamer’s extensive catalogue of less reputable material. From salacious true crime docs to paranormal investigation series, Netflix is teeming with programmes that fall somewhere between being knowingly pulpy and outright schlock. In a climate where new streaming services seem to launch every few months, adding to the competition and cutting into Netflix’s non-original content catalogue, it’s natural that Netflix would turn to whatever gets people watching. So when a programme like Ancient Apocalypse drops on the streaming service, you might be inclined to think it’s all just business as usual.

Ancient Apocalypse is a Netflix doc series featuring Graham Hancock‘s searches for evidence of past evolved civilizations, going as far back as the last Ice Age.
It offers us eight episodes, with the sporadic appearances by Joe Rogan, and a score that is meant to increase the engagement of the audience, given that good old dry archeology might lead the viewers to fall asleep.
About the Series
Based on his hypothesis that there might have been an evolved civilization during the Ice Age, Graham Hancock ventures to various locations around the world to investigate archeological sites. He takes us to Indonesia, Mexico, Malta, the Bahamas (in search of Atlantis), Turkey, Poverty Point in Louisiana (US), Cappadocia (Turkey), and Washington.
