Are you looking for a show about fish and setting up and caring for fish, filtration and advance aquarium keeping, look elsewhere. This isn't it ... If you are looking for a show with a lot of overly fake drama, over-hyped problems and a bunch of incredibly tacky tanks that nearly always comes down to the few last minute to install. You're in luck you've found the perfect show. The one guy on the show that seems to actually know about fish seems intent on showing off his knowledge by referring to everything in there scientific names and it gets rather annoying rather quickly. All in all it's very formulaic, you have the cranky boss, the creative one, the odd couple, the brainiac, the eye candy with assorted other minions ... it's every reality show you've ever seen and like those other show it's missing reality. Watch it if you want but you're not missing much if you skip it.

Ok. First of all I would NOT want to work at this place because, although I am a diver and I love sea life and aquariums the people working at this enterprise are not only annoying -with the exception of the big boss-they are truly obnoxious.

They seem to be unable to agree on anything, are terribly opinionated and all think they are extremely smart and are always right.

The resident fish specialist in particular, who seems to have swallowed a Latin Encyclopaedia is particularly annoying because not only does he want the last word in any discussion, his facial expressions mostly resemble a rabid ferret. If these guys ever held a team building experience their would be a lot of tears, gnashing of teach and maybe even some fatalities. Personally, given the choice of working in this shop or being thrown in jail in an African or South American country, I would need to have a long moment to decide. Not recommended.

Been a huge fan, and im sudden they're already closed last 2019. Hopefully they can still continue.

Just when you think that reality shows can't get any more stupid, along comes Fish Tank Kings. It is SO scripted and the people involved are so shallow and unintelligent that...... the three stooges look like Shakespeare. At one point in an episode someone points to the plans for an aquarium and says "...when we started the spec was 3'6"; but they put down 42 inches, so we have to adjust."
