Timothée Chalamet's A Complete Unknown Gets Debut Rotten Tomatoes Score - How Does It Compare To The Rest Of His Career?
Image
Timothée Chalamet's much anticipated Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown debuts on Rotten Tomatoes. Directed by James Mangold, and co-starring Ed Norton, Elle Fanning, and Scoot McNairy, the movie will release Christmas Day in the United States and has already generated significant Oscar buzz. It covers Dylan's career beginnings in 1961, up to his infamous 1965 gig at Newport Folk Festival where he controversially played for the first time with electric instruments. Chalamet plays the legendary singer-songwriter in A Complete Unknown.

The first reviews for the movie have landed on aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, and early signs look promising. According to the site, A Complete Unknown has scored an impressive 74% Rotten Tomatoes critic score from 62 reviews at the time of writing. This score could fluctuate as more reviews are added. Screen Rant's Mae Abdulbaki awarded the film a 6 out of 10, and a fresh rating. Despite the high score, it is...

“We’re Gonna Stop Submitting You For These Bigger Projects”: Timothée Chalamet Recalls Getting Rejected By Maze Runner, Divergent & More For The Same Reason
Image
Timothée Chalamet missed out on some huge opportunities early in his career. The 28-year-old star had his breakout role in Luca Guadagnino's 2017 Best Picture nominee Call Me By Your Name, an LGBTQ+ love story where he played a teenager falling for his father's intern (Armie Hammer) over the course of a summer in 1980s Italy. Chalamet has now appeared in a total of five Best Picture nominees, a roster that also includes Lady Bird, Little Women, Don't Look Up, and Dune.

Timothée Chalamet movies now run the gamut between smaller arthouse fare and major blockbusters. In addition to starring in Denis Villeneuve's Dune movies, which are both critical and commercial smash hits, he played the title role in the prequel Wonka, which is the highest-grossing non-Disney original musical of all time. He has become such a superstar that a contest was held in New York to find his closest lookalike,...

Who Is Molly Gordon & Her Character Claire In The Bear Season 2?
Image
Warning! This article contains Spoilers for The Bear season 2!Molly Gordon stars in The Bear season 2 as the new character Claire, who plays a significant role in Carmy’s story. The cast of The Bear season 2 has added plenty of rising stars for recurring roles and veteran actors for major cameos, including Molly Gordon as Claire, Will Poulter as Chef Luca, and Jamie Lee Curtis as Carmy and Sugar’s mother Donna. Surprisingly, a large portion of The Bear season 2’s new characters are unrelated to the restaurant’s renovations, as much of the story is told as the established chefs train for new roles, focus on their family lives, and, in Carmy’s case, embark on romantic storylines.

Far more than the first outing, The Bear season 2 gives significant focus to the personal lives of the chefs at the title restaurant. In addition to showcasing Carmy’s love life for the first time,...

Amazon Prime Video New Releases: January 2023
Image
As the calendar flips over to 2023, Prime Video is attempting to start a new year on the right track with fresh seasons of some major originals.

Prime Videos’ list of new releases for January 2023 is highlighted by Hunters season 2 on Jan. 13. The first season of Hunters was set in 1977 and followed young Jonah Heidelbaum’s (Logan Lerman) introduction to a world of Nazi-hunting. After a lengthy wait for season 2, the fresh (and final) batch of episodes will find Jonah and friends venturing to South American to take out none other than Adolf Hitler, himself.

While Nazi-hunting undoubtedly takes up a lot of streaming space, two other Amazon original series of note arrive in January. The Rig, a supernatural thriller set on a Scottish oil rig, premieres Jan. 6. That will be followed by season 2 of fantasy role-playing animated series The Legend of Vox Machina on Jan. 20.

The action comedy Shotgun Wedding...

The so-called Hunters discover that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living in the United States and are conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in America. The Nazi hunters, led by Pacino, will embark on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their genocidal plans. The series concluded in 2020 and has taken some time to get back to screens. Unfortunately, this second season will be a finale as well so fans...

Glee: The 15 Best Christmas Covers
Image
If there's a thing that remained consistent throughout all six seasons of Glee, even when the writing and overall quality of the show declined, it's the singing. The entire cast was truly talented beyond words, and they all consistently delivered when performing their covers.

The cast put out three Christmas albums, practically covering every classic holiday tune and putting the classic Glee spin on them. Not all of them made it to the actual show, but they all contributed to the success of their respective albums. And as the cast changed with every new season, new voices got to be showcased on each album, perfectly representing the diversity and inclusivity Glee always strived to showcase.

Merry Christmas Darling

Rachel's solos in Glee were always a guarantee of quality. The character was always divisive, but her undeniable talent had even her detractors in awe. Ballads were her specialty, with her soft,...

‘I Am Sam’ Director Jessie Nelson Wouldn’t Make Her Movie the Same Way Now
Image
Twenty years after the release of the Sean Penn–starring “I Am Sam,” director Jessie Nelson is looking back on her movie and celebrating that it couldn’t be made in the same way now.

“I wouldn’t make that movie today without a lead being from the [disability] community,” Nelson told The Hollywood Reporter. “But that movie would not have been made 20 years ago. It wasn’t like I had the choice: ‘Make that movie with a lead from the community, or not.’ It was ‘The only way this movie will get made is this.’ ”

Nelson’s journey with “I Am Sam” was apparently a winding one. According to THR, Nelson was fresh off the success of “Corrina, Corrina” when she and longtime friend Kristine Johnson began working on the script for “I Am Sam,” meeting with people from the community and their families. But Fox 2000 Pictures, with which Nelson had a deal,...

The “Bachelor” highlight show scored a 0.2 rating among adults 18-49 and drew only 1.5 million, roughly a 20% drop on both metrics from the previous episode. It remains to be seen whether the show can boost things a little with its final episode of the summer next week.
