Sixties Scoop - a notorious period in Canadian history in which Indigenous children were forcibly taken from their homes and sent to live with white families.
Per the film (2023): "Dedicated to the Indigenous children and families impacted by the child welfare system across Canada and the U.S. "Today there are more indigenous children in custody than ever before."
The series earned 19 Canadian Screen Award nominations in 2024, the most of any program that year.
