We get why Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) didn't get promoted to Chief when Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) left Firehouse 51. The character didn't have the experience needed to do the job, nor did he really spend the time to prepare to take on such a responsibility.
It was slightly disappointing to see him get earmarked for the gig, only to have an outside, Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney), come in, but the more time has passed, the more we understand why. We think the character is ready to embark on the next chapter of his career, though.

Dr. Jake Heller has been a hero in the Fox medical drama Doc, whether it's saving the lives of patients or standing by his girlfriend Dr. Amy Larsen. But that might be about to change in the Season 1 finale -- because Jake doesn't know that Amy was kissing her ex-husband. And as a massive emergency hits Westside Hospital, it's a terrible time for him to find that out.
In an interview with Cbr, actor Jon Ecker teased how Episode 9's closing scene may affect Jake's feelings toward both Amy and Dr. Michael Hamda, who also happens to be Jake's boss. He also spoke about where the dynamic between Jake and Dr. Sonya Maitra might go, and what he wants to uncover about Dr. Jake Heller as a person. Plus, learn about his favorite moments from Doc Season 1 so far.
Cbr: What was it about the idea of Doc or the character of Dr.

There are some great NBC shows still on the bubble. That’s nothing too major to worry about just yet, as we’re only into March. NBC has a habit of waiting until closer to the May Upfronts to make some final decisions.
However, with so many shows on the bubble, we can look at the ones likely to be renewed and canceled. While NBC doesn’t only just rely on the linear ratings, this is usually a strong indication as to whether a show will get another chance.
Something I do want to point out is that Friday and Sunday linear ratings tend to be lower than other nights, and that is something that needs to be considered when look at the ratings to determine which NBC shows could be canceled.
NBC shows likely canceled: Grosse Pointe Garden Society, Lopez vs. Lopez, and more

There has been a lot of change going on at Firehouse 51 this season on Chicago Fire but one former member of the 51 family might soon be making their way back to the firehouse in a more regular capacity.
As revealed in the synopsis for Chicago Fire season 13, episode 16, “In the Rubble,” Damon will be looking to make his way back to 51 following his exit from the firehouse earlier this season. The synopsis teases that Damon heads back to the floater pool with his hope being to secure a permanent spot at 51 and honestly the timing makes perfect sense.
Early in the season, we saw Damon getting put back into the floater pool after tensions rose at 51 with Damon stepping out of line by trying to make a name for himself. Damon eventually landed at another firehouse and things seemed to be going well, but this storyline resulted in him missing...

Chicago Fire fans get a treat this spring.
Boden is returning to the show for the first time in Season 13.
Actor Eamonn Walker exited the show as a full-time cast member during the Season 12 finale.
Never Say Goodbye was Walker’s final installment, ending a long and successful run.
Chicago Fire fans miss his character — Chief Wallace Boden — and many hope he will return to take back Firehouse 51.
In Boden’s stead, Chief Dom Pascal entered the picture. Dermot Mulroney plays Chief Pascal, and the character is much different in leading than Boden.
Boden returns to Chicago Fire
Deputy Commissioner Wallace Boden is featured on the April 16 episode of Chicago Fire.
That night features Chicago Fire Season 13, Episode 18 at 9/8c on NBC.
This sounds like a one-off, providing fans an episode centered on Boden while showcasing that the character still works for the Chicago Fire Department.

Actor Shawn Hatosy has teased some intriguing Chicago P.D. spoilers.
Hatosy joined the Chicago P.D. cast as new Deputy Chief Charlie Reid.
Reid was suspicious from the jump, often knowing things about Hank Voight and his team that were supposed to be secrets.
Reid also knew Officer Dante Torres (played by Benjamin Levy Aguilar) had a romantic relationship with a confidential informant (Gloria Perez).
Detective Kim Burgess helped cover for Torres. Later, Voight covered for Torres and Burgess.
Reid revealed to Voight that he knew but brushed it off so they could be “friends” moving forward.
Reid finally called in those favors on Voight during the most recent episode. And Voight has been compromised.

Chicago Fire has been on another hiatus, but new episodes are coming.
We have only seen the first 15 episodes of Chicago Fire Season 13, meaning seven are left to debut.
The writers killed off an important character during the latest episode. It will have many repercussions later this spring.
As a reminder, Chief Dom Pascal’s wife died. Dermot Mulroney plays the new chief on the Chicago Fire cast.
KaDee Strickland played Monica Pascal, and the character died in a car accident.
Dom was called to the hospital, but he arrived too late. A saddened Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) greeted him with the bad news written all over her face.
Moving forward, the fallout from Monica’s death will gravely impact the rest of the Chicago Fire season.

The US Golf Association has let its exclusive negotiating window with NBCUniversal expire without a deal.
NBC and Peacock may have a little less golf to offer in the coming years. NBCUniversal had been in an exclusive negotiating window with the U.S. Golf Association (Usga) until December, but that window lapsed without a new deal being made. Now, Usga rights will head to the open market, where they could draw interest from a number of streaming platforms.
Key Details: The Usga rights package includes the U.S. Open and more. The two could revive their partnership if the Usga doesn’t get more compelling offers. Netflix could be a logical destination for at least some Usga events. Sign Up $7.99+ / month peacocktv.com
NBCU’s current deal to offer Usga championship events expires in 2025. The two sides engaged in a 90-day exclusive negotiation period, but that expired on Dec. 31 without a new agreement being made.

The extension is worth $3 billion, and includes two additional Olympic games.
The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris were a huge win for NBC. Not only did the channel draw more than 30 million viewers to the Games, it also saw audiences around the world stream them for a combined 23.5 billion minutes. The International Olympic Committee (Ioc) was certainly pleased by the results, as it has agreed to an extension of the broadcast deal between it and Comcast — NBCUniversal’s parent company — that will keep the games on the company’s platforms through 2036.

“The White Lotus” was a surprise hit when it first arrived back in 2021, offering viewers a look at luxury travel while many remained stuck at home deep into the Covid-19 pandemic.

Something is in the air right now. Networks have taken an axe and decided to cut down several shows that otherwise looked primed for renewal. CBS has been the biggest culprit in this regard. It has taken down two of its FBI spinoffs, FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International.
CBS has also canceled Swat, despite bringing it back from the dead twice. Did we mention that fans are still irate over the network's decision to end Blue Bloods, despite the fact that a spinoff is in the works? Cancelations have been all the rage over the last few weeks, and One Chicago shows are off the air for the next few weeks. Should we be worried? Could our beloved franchise be next?

One Chicago went big in 2025. It had six years since the franchise brought all three of its titles together for a singular narrative event, but "In the Trenches" proved to be worth the wait. It was a delight to see the characters interact, and to save lives on a citywide scale that, frankly, they don't usually need to.
Because there are three episodes, and three shows, with their specific narrative requirements, we decided to break down "In the Trenches" and determine which part of the story worked best, and which fell short a bit. We like them all, but here's always going to be one hour chunk in a crossover that plays better than others. Here we go, from worst to best.

As for tonight and next Wednesday night, TV Guide is telling us exactly what NBC is going to air instead of a new Chicago Med episode. Tonight, they're going to air a repeat episode of Chicago Fire. It really seemed as though Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) had crossed the point of no return. The character had jeopardized his career, his family, and his future as a free man because of a decision he made in season one. Thankfully, he got out of it with a suspension and a slap on the wrist.
Part of the reason Cruz was able to avoid disaster was because he had Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) in his corner. The two men have had their differences over the years, but Severide advised him and helped ensure that the firefighter would fight to see another day. And we think Cruz has repaid the favor offscreen.

Fans of the One Chicago franchise won’t be happy that there are no new episodes of the fan fave shows – Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, or Chicago Pd tonight (March 12).
As fans of the shows know, they air every Wednesday night on NBC during the TV season.

However, both tonight and next week, they are off. Why? It’s simply scheduled re-run dates in the lineup. Each season has a specific number of episodes, and there are re-run Wednesdays sprinkled throughout. All three shows will be back with new episodes on Wednesday (March 26).
NBC has, so far, renewed several big TV shows so far this year. Be sure to find out what is returning in the 2025-2026 season.
Chicago Fire also has a big cast update happening for a future episode.

Chicago Fire struck a pretty compelling balance during the episode "Too Close." A lot of the attention went toward Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney), and the tragic death of his wife. The second most important developement in the episode, though, was the confirmation that Stellaride are going to be parents.
The couple were told at the episode's onset that they have been approved for adoption. It's a thrilling revelation, but one that Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) have been reluctant to share given Pascal's grim news. Don't worry, though, there will be plenty of time to gush over the Stellaride baby in upcoming episodes.

The latest Chicago P.D. episode put Hank Voight in a tough spot. Now Voight is under the thumb of his new boss.

The One Chicago crossover event is being shown again on Wednesday, March 12.

Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) is in an interesting spot. The tenth season of Chicago Pd will go down as one of the character's most important, between her promotion to detective and wedding to Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), but in truth, she hasn't had much to do.
The character has spent most of the season in supporting character mode, whether it be during the One Chicago crossover event or the storyline involving Ruzek's dad, Bob (Jack Coleman). Thankfully this will change in the March 26 episode of Chicago Pd.
Burgess' Ptsd seemingly resurfaces
The promo for the episode sees Burgess take lead on a crime that takes place at her favorite diner. She recognizes the victims as fellow regulars at the diner, but struggles to determine what the cause could have been or who the culprit could be. "You notice a lot, Kim, you just have to remember," Adam Ruzek tells her.

CBS canceled FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted last week, and fans are now wondering if NBC could swoop in and save the two TV shows from cancellation.
It’s not the norm for other networks to save canceled content from their competitors. It has happened though. 9-1-1 moved from Fox to ABC, and ABC also picked up American Idol when it was axed.
The reason fans think this could happen is because the FBI dramas are from Dick Wolf, who has ties to both CBS (with the FBI franchise), as well as NBC (with the One Chicago shows and Law & Order shows).
However, there’s another side to this that makes it seem unlikely.

Wednesday nights are One Chicago Night. We settle in for a night of first responder drama, starting with Chicago Med. There’s some bad news when it comes to episodes tonight, Wednesday, March 12.
There isn’t a new episode of Chicago Med tonight, and it’s not alone. There won’t be a new episode of any of the three shows. NBC needs to put a break in the schedule to spread out the remaining episodes for the season to ensure the finales air in May. This also allows time for episodes to film and get through post-production, so they’re ready for us.
What’s on instead of Chicago Med tonight?
In some good news, there is a rerun of the series on tonight, but it’s at the slightly later time of 9 p.m. Et/Pt. You will still want to tune in from the start of primetime,...

We start off with some bad news about Chicago Fire tonight, Wednesday, March 12. There isn’t a new episode of the series. The entire One Chicago lineup is off for the next couple of weeks.
This is purely a scheduling need. Once again, we’re at that point in the season where there are more weeks to fill than available episodes. The networks know that they need to space out the new episodes, or they need to delay the returns in January. While ABC opted to delay a few shows, NBC brought shows back as soon as possible, and that means more weeks off now.

Chicago Fire might not be the only blaze on NBC’s primetime lineup.
The network is developing a drama series based on Candice Fox’s 2023 novel Fire With Fire, which would star This Is Us alum Jon Huertas. According to our sister site Deadline, which first reported the project, Huertas will also executive-produce alongside The Rookie creator Alexi Hawley, while onetime Arrow co-showrunner Wendy Mericle will write the script.

Kidd and Severide’s adoption storyline isn’t the first time that this has been done in Chicago Fire. However, Cruz and Herrmann seemed to forget about the first time.
During Chicago Fire season 13, episode 15, Kidd and Severide met with the case worker about getting approved as adoptive parents. It was a nervous time for the two of them, and Cruz and Herrmann ended up getting involved due to their mistake when it came to a video call still potentially connected.
The two decided to go see the case worker in person and explain the situation. While their visit wasn’t necessary in the end, it was something that helped Kidd and Severide get the good news they needed. However, the two seemed to forget that Cruz isn’t the first person at the firehouse to go the adoption route.

An Og Chicago Fire character is back, and we cannot wait. The only downside is that it’s just for a temporary storyline rather than full time.
Chief Boden is back. Actually, it’s Deputy Commission Boden now! At the end of season 12, Boden opted for a promotion, which took him to HQ rather than keep his office at Firehouse 51. When the exit was announced, there was the promise that it wouldn’t be forever, and that with Boden at HQ, it would open the door for his return when the story and schedules allowed.
Everything has now aligned. It’s just in time as well, considering the grief Chief Pascal is going to face in the coming episodes.
When will Boden return in Chicago Fire?
TVLine has confirmed that we’ll see Boden back on Wednesday, April 16. If you follow the fan social media accounts, you’ll know that...

This was a dark one.
Tracker as a series is far from light, but some cases take on a much more sinister tone than others and this one was about as sinister as it gets.
Colter was on the hunt for a missing mother, and the person who took her was decapitating victims, which meant time was truly of the essence.
(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)
The missing person’s case of Alice Bear was odd from the start, considering the mother put her son to sleep and then just vanished in the middle of the night.
Did she run off? Was she taken? Or was it something else entirely?
All Tracker cases typically start one way and end up somewhere else, and this was no exception, as preliminary findings had Colter believing maybe Alice’s disappearance had something to do with a date gone wrong or even drug addiction.

It doesn't come more lovable than Mouch (Christian Stolte) on Chicago Fire. He's one of the most consistent members of Firehouse 51, and his steady presence has helped to save countless lives over the last 13 seasons. 2025 has been a particularly rough period for the firefighter, though, and the latest batch of episodes has proved it.
Let's start with the One Chicago crossover. Mouch got into a spat with his wife, Chicago Pd standout Trudy Platt (Amy Morton), only to discover her gunned down during a chase. The character rushed to her side in the hospital, and was forced to stand by as she flatlined and came back multiple times. It's a devastating crossover to watch from his perspective, and one we thought would serve as an outlier for the Mouch stories to come.

Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Mouch (Christian Stolte) are two of the most beloved characters on Chicago Fire. They are the wiley veterans, the guys who can always be relied on to do their work and dispense helpful advice to the younger team.
Well, drama is waiting around the corner for these two in season 13. The best friends are going to be put in a situation where one of them may be forced out of Firehouse 51 in an effort to further one of their careers. Neither wants to go, which will invariably lead to some heated conversations.

Chicago Fire killed off Monica Pascal (KaDee Strickland). It was telegraphed from the promo, which we discussed at length, but the emotional impact of the death still hit hard. A big part of why was the reaction from Monica's husband, Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney).
The character was absolutely horrified to learn that his estranged wife had perished the very same night they were scheduled to have an anniversary dinner. It was a gut punch to end all gut punches, but it's something Chicago Fire showrunner Andrea Newman felt was important for the show.

This week’s Samba TV Weekly Wrap Report presents an interesting juxtaposition. The Oscars telecast, on Sunday, March 2, was far and away the most-watched linear program of the week, with 13.1 million households tuning in. While that celebration of movies drew massive viewership, the nominated movies themselves were not big draws over on streaming, where many are currently available across a variety of services.
During the weekend of the Oscars, Feb. 28 to March 2, the most-viewed Best Picture nominee was “A Complete Unknown,” was seen in 182,000 households, likely aided by its Feb. 25 launch on VOD. Meanwhile, eventual Best Picture winner “Anora” was seen in 82,000 households, placing it fifth among the nine nominees.
Now, many of these films may have been seen in theatres during their initial release, and some can expect a bump in the weeks to come. But the main story on streaming this week is TV series, which hold eight of the 10 spots.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 15 “Too Close.”] Firehouse 51 has just suffered a devastating loss, especially for its chief, Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney). The latest Chicago Fire ended with the heartbreaking death of Pascal’s wife Monica (Kadee Strickland), in a car accident, as he waited for her in a restaurant for their anniversary dinner. The house responded to the call, but by the time Pascal got to the hospital, it was too late. Elsewhere in the episode leading into a brief hiatus (the show returns on March 26), Pascal urged Mouch (Christian Stolte) to think about his future as a lieutenant possibly away from 51 — the plan is for Herrmann (David Eigenberg) to become chief, but the man currently holding that position doesn’t seem so sure he wants it — and Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) were approved to become adoptive parents. Below, showrunner Andrea Newman answers our burning questions...

We're all excited for Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) to return to Chicago Fire. We have been waiting all season for the beloved former 51 chief to pop back up, and we were starting to fear that we would have to wait until season 14 to see him again.
We aren't here to talk about Boden, though. We did that here. We're here to talk about another former 51 member who is going through some professional turmoil at the moment. A character who left the firehouse until less than stellar circumstances, but has made huge improvements.

When the trailer for this week's episode of Chicago Fire was released, it was abundantly clear that tragedy was around the corner for Firehouse 51. While the preview hinted at it, it only became conclusive after Season 13, Episode 15, "Too Close," aired on Wednesday. Unfortunately, Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) loses his wife, Monica (portrayed by KaDee Strickland), to a nasty car accident. Chicago Fire is set to embark on a mini-hiatus, and when the show returns on March 26, audiences will get to see how Pascal is handling this loss. Ahead of the episode titled, "In the Rubble," NBC has released a sneak peek teasing the state of affairs.

It’s bad news for One Chicago fans, as NBC has made it clear that the three shows are taking some time off. There will not be a new episode on Wednesday, March 12, and fans will want to know when the shows return.
In some good news, there will be some reruns. Next Wednesday, March 12, will see a rerun of the three-way crossover event. This means that Chicago Fire will air first again, and we’ll get a chance to relive the horror of some of our favorite characters’ lives on the line. The details of the rerun after that haven’t been shared just yet.
When will the One Chicago shows return to NBC?
This break is a little longer than the last couple we’ve had. It’s a two-week break, with all three shows confirmed to return on Wednesday, March 26. This was in all the promos for...

The following contains major spoilers from Chicago Med Season 13, Episode 15, "Down in a Hole," which debuted Wednesday, March 5 on NBC.
Chicago Med Season 10, Episode 15, "Down in a Hole" feels like a relief, because it seems to end the show's most frustrating storyline. The NBC medical drama diverts from normal by moving most of its action outside Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, and succeeds in creating lots o tension. But what's most important is its use of character -- including one from Chicago Fire.
"Down in a Hole" is the brainchild of Chicago Med showrunner Allen MacDonald, and most viewers will be able to guess quickly which real life situation the plot is based on. But the medicine is actually secondary in this case; in fact, there are only two patients of the week, both tied to the same case. MacDonald is primarily focused on getting Dr. Mitch Ripley out of a proverbial hole,...

A dramatic and emotional Chicago Fire episode arrived on March 5.
The episode began with Chief Dom Pascal in the kitchen with his wife.
Pascal and his wife joked about him possibly retiring soon before chatting about an upcoming anniversary.
They parted on good terms as Pascal headed to work.
Meanwhile, Kelly Severide and Stella Kidd were undergoing a home inspection regarding their adoption hopes. They were nervous about the results. Later, they had an official interview and were approved as adoptive parents.
The episode shifted to the firehouse where Jack Damon (Baby Severide) has been working.
