Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr says the agency has identified 40 rules and regulations for elimination as part of his broader reform initiative.

The 40 rules will be voted on during the FCC’s open meeting later this month. The specific rules have not been identified, but they span more than 17 pages and over 7,600 words, Carr said in a statement this week.

“It’s hard to believe we still have regulations for telegraph, rabbit-ear broadcast receivers, and phone booths on our books,” Carr said. “Starting this month, that will change.”

The rules are part of the initial phases of regulatory reform under Carr’s “Delete, Delete, Delete” initiative announced earlier this year. Other rules and regulations are expected to be identified for modification or elimination in the coming months.

The initiative is part...

Wicked Deleted Scene Shows Ariana Grande's Glinda Meeting Her Devoted Minions
Image
Wicked premiered in theaters on Nov. 22 with an impressive length of 2 hours and 40 minutes, and a second part is set to premiere in November 2025. However, even with the extensive length, director Jon M. Chu wasn't able to fit in all the scenes he wanted to.

Early in Wicked, right as Ariana Grande's Glinda starts her throwback to her beginning at Shiz University, she meets her devoted minions: Bowen Yang's Phannee and Bronwyn James' ShenShen. The two, however, go way back, and the newly released deleted scenes will show them exploring their joint past at Miss Cringable’s Twirling Academy, which makes them lifelong friends. As per a clip exclusively shared on Entertainment Weekly, the unofficial queen of Shiz starts her journey with two supportive friends.

2 Smallville Stars Had a Strange and Rocky Relationship on Set
Image
One of the things that made Smallville such a great series was its amazing supporting characters and cast. The show follows a young Clark Kent on his journey to becoming the legendary hero as he tries to find his place in the world, with plenty of familiar names from the comic books and some new to the world of Superman.

Two of the women in Clark's life were Chloe Sullivan and Lois Lane. Chloe was a new character created for Smallville, played by Allison Mack. Mack started on the show in Season 1 and was on it for all 10 years. Lois Lane is the famous comic book character and the love of Clark Kent's life, played by Erica Durance. Lois joins the show in Season 4 as a guest star before becoming a series regular in Season 5. Although the characters are cousins and close friends, the actors who brought them to life...

‘Terror Tuesday: Extreme’ Episode 6 “Girl Next Door” Recap & Ending Explained
Image
The anthology Terror Tuesday: Extreme is inspired by tales told by listeners of a radio show—true horror stories that should make you wonder what you’ve done wrong to torture yourself with such a show. But watching Girl Next Door didn’t really have me squirming in fear or locking my doors. Maybe it’s because I’m not a man, and I’d imagine this one’s targeted at lecherous dudes who don’t know how to control their desires. Anyway, Girl Next Door stars Nat Kitcharit, who international fans such as myself would’ve seen in Delete. Nat plays “Bird,” a man who has just moved into a new apartment with the help of his friend, when suddenly strange things start to occur.

Spoiler Alert

Why Doesn’t Bird Pick Up His Mom’s Calls?

Glossy Thai Series ‘Master of the House’ Takes Netflix Global Chart Lead as It Portrays ‘Privilege’ and ‘Oppression’
Image
In a first for a Thai-produced show, murder-mystery series “Master of the House” has taken the top spot in Netflix’s weekly Global Non-English series chart.

The streamer said that, in its second week of availability, the seven-part series ranked first on its Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list for the week of July 22-28. Additionally, it appeared in the top ten charts of 63 countries and territories.

The show centers around a hugely wealthy diamond merchant who, in high style, uses the occasion of a birthday banquet to shock his family with the news that he has married one of his maids and that the woman will inherit his vast fortune. His subsequent death in a fall from a balcony inevitably sets off a round of infighting between his new wife and his disappointed relatives.

Thailand is a deeply conservative society with a clearly hierarchical culture, which the filmmakers sought to replicate and amplify.

Netflix Bulks Up Southeast Asia Originals, Chinese-Language Production Slate
Image
Global streaming giant Netflix has made a significant ongoing commitment to production of original content from Southeast Asia and in the Chinese language.

For 2024, Netflix has unveiled a slate of four Chinese-language series, all hailing from Taiwan. From Thailand, it detailed seven series and one film. From Indonesia, it has committed to five films and a series co-written and directed by the consistently successful Joko Anwar, marking his first partnership with the streamer.

Additionally, Netflix has confirmed the appointment of Maya Huang as its head of Chinese-language content.

The moves stand in sharp contrast to the mid-January happenings at rival global streamer Prime Video, which is cutting staff in the region and ending its brief experiment with Southeast Asian originals.

In Indonesia, Netflix says it is broadening its storytelling with a range of genres including comedy, action, fantasy, and sci-fi thrillers.

“Nightmares and Daydreams,” Anwar’s debut project for the company,...

“Just in the last couple of months, really — two or three months; well, maybe a little longer now, really; February is when we started … to work on new material for a new record,” Carpenter told Gnostic Academy (as transcribed by Blabbermouth.net). “It’s going good now. It was a little slow at first, but it always is; dragging our feet ain’t nothing new. But we’ve got stuff up and going now, and we’re on a good little momentum at the moment. And we hope to have it all done and out by next spring [or] summer. There...

Netflix Top 10 (Week of June 26): ‘The Witcher’ Season 3 debuts in first place
Image
While the Netflix Top 10 film chart for the week of June 26 remained fairly consistent from the previous week, “The Witcher” Season 3 burst into the English TV chart in first place. Read on for this week’s analysis.

“The Witcher” has been one of the streamer’s most popular series, so when Season 3 – the final one with Henry Cavill – was released last week, it was no surprise it did quite well with 15.2 million views (about 73 million viewing hours divided by the 4.82 runtime for the season). It was the #1 watched show in over 75 countries, including the United States, Canada, and all of Europe and Africa, making the Top 10 in 91 countries total.

The new season of “The Witcher” generated interest in earlier seasons, with Season 1 reentering the chart with 2.2 million views (17.2 million viewing hours).

‘Delete’ Season 2 Theories: Will Aim Return? What Will Happen To Lilly?
Image
The new Netflix Thai drama Delete is packed with twists and turns worthy of a good thriller. The first season has been received very well, but considering its ending, a lot of people will be wondering what’s next. Delete is a series that follows a couple who have been unfaithful to their partners and want to start a new life together. One day, a girl asks the woman to take a picture of her with a unique phone-looking device. Once she takes the photo, the girl disappears, leaving the woman stunned. It turns out that the phone can “delete” people, and this gives the couple an idea. A whirlwind of situations follow as the couple navigate their lives after using the phone and change completely. It’s an interesting series for sure, but a lot of questions were left unanswered at the end of season 1, including a new storyline all together.

‘Delete’ What Does The Magic Phone Symbolize In The Netflix Thai Drama?
Image
It’s a commonly known fact that art reflects culture and society, and movies are no less than art. But I firmly believe that horror movies are a representation of the world and the society they are produced by. Over the years, we’ve seen how the genre adapts with time and brings out new fears that are more relevant to the new generation. Delete may not be a traditional “horror” TV drama, but the way it’s shot, the narrative, and, of course, the broader concept of the whole thing are quite horrifying. So, I think it makes for a good example of what I’m trying to say here.

In our review, we mentioned how Delete bore a resemblance to the early 2000s Japanese technophobia era that ushered in a new wave of horror cinema, including classics like Pulse and Ringu that took the entire world by storm.

‘Delete’ (2023) Review: The Thai Drama Takes Us Back To The World Of Technophobia In An Intriguing Web Of Lies
Image
From blockbuster Shutter director Parkpoom Wongpoom (Oh) comes a new Thai drama on Netflix titled Delete. The show follows a young man and woman, Aim and Lilly, who are having an affair. Both of their partners will know the truth soon enough. But when Aim and Lilly get their hands on a camera device that removes a person from existence with just one click, they decide to use it to lead a happy life together. A seemingly simple idea creates a dramatic series of events that change Aim and Lilly’s lives for good. I think Delete had the potential to be fantastic, but there are a few things that drag it down. For an 8-part series, mostly everything gets left unanswered by the end of the season, and even if a new chapter is opening up for a potential second season, I think some closure was required to wrap...
