If you're looking for a show that takes you on a visual and educational journey of one of the world's most luxurious vacation destinations, then "Secrets of the Mega Resort" is definitely worth checking out. The show offers a fascinating glimpse into Baha Mar showcasing the hard work and creativity that goes into running this resort. The show also manages to strike a balance between providing in-depth information and entertainment. While viewers will certainly learn a lot about the Baha Mar, they won't feel like they're watching a dry documentary. The show is engaging and fun, with just the right amount of, if you will, humor and energy to keep viewers entertained throughout.
First and foremost, the title is very misleading. This "documentary" is not about mega resorts. It is about one specific resort and no secrets are revealed. The entire program extols all of the luxurious amenities of this one single business. The behind the scenes footage portrays all of the staff as exuberant and satisfied. No questions about worker compensation and environmental impact of this particular mega resort or of the industry are ever addressed. All of the testimonials of staff and guests seem scripted and provide only superficial praise. This is a product of marketing not education.
