Sachin is a Rajasthan-based filmmaker who uses lens-based art to understand the world around him and express his ideas through an experimental approach. He is a co-founder of Docustan, an initiative dedicated to nurturing the practice of documentary filmmaking in South Asia. In 2021, he was awarded the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship to study at institutions in Portugal, Hungary, and Belgium as part of the European Joint Masters Program, DocNomads. “In Flanders Fields” is his latest short, inspired by a visit to Ypres where he learned that 1.4 million Indians were conscripted by the British to fight in Flanders during the First World War.
