F Marry Kill

5/10

I mean it was okay.

F Marry Kill (2024) is a new comedy mystery thriller made by Lionsgate and it was very mediocre.

Positives for F Marry Kill (2024): The movies looks nice and it's shot competently. Lucy Hale and Virginia Gardner give decent performances in the movie. The movie moves at a good pace and doesn't overstay its welcome. There is some good humor in the movie. And finally, the reveal of the killer was definitely surprising.

Negatives for F Marry Kill (2024): For a Rated R movie, the movie isn't that raunchy and there is barely any gore being shown on screen. The mystery aspect of the movie was very dull and there are too many red hearings. The movie goes for multiple plot twists and it wasn't executed very well. And finally, the resolution to this movie wasn't very satisfying.

Overall, F Marry Kill (2024) is a pretty mediocre attempt at a comedy mystery thriller, but I would recommend it if you need some background noise. I.

The Movie Knows What It Is and it's a Fun Murder Mystery

Not terrible. I'd watch Lucy Hale in pretty much anything though. [+49%]

Okay, the premise sounds really bleh on paper though it's Lucy Hale, Virginia Gardner, and the rest of the cast making it all work to some extent. It's kinda like Scream with online dating at its forefront, but the horror/gore element is dumbed down so much, especially for an R-rated movie. For me, the film works when it's a nice little raunchy comedy with a central mystery; however, it falls flat as a horror film. Even when the writing throws in way too many red herrings, the final reveal somehow was refreshingly twisted. I think I enjoyed it more than expected, owing to its characters all being millennials for a change, as opposed to Gen Zs, which is generally the case (I'm looking at you Time Cut). It handles the "being single in your 30s" bit rather enjoyably, with reasonably funny banter.

Fun

F, Marry, Kill is a rom-com murder mystery that's not to be taken too seriously.

The dating apps, dates and updating friends when meeting random is relateable and happens in the real world.

The reasoning for their actions and motivations make sense and I found the humour and conversations, felt like watching a bunch of friends and I laughed out loud several times.

Lucy Hale is fabulous on screen and I always enjoy her comedic banter.

If you can watch a casual film about a bunch of friends on shenanigans and be open to a 30-year-old woman changing her life, this is a decent watch.

F, Marry, Kill is Fun.

Sorry, but this one was hard to watch

I'm a big Lucy Hale fan... I think she's gorgeous and can act. That's why I gave this movie a shot. But honestly? It just fell short.

First off, I couldn't feel any real chemistry between the cast, it was awkward. You know those movies where you can almost see the sparks fly? Well, this wasn't one of them. The jokes didn't help either; they felt super forced and predictable, like someone wrote "something funny goes here" in the script.

I read other reviews and other people even said Lucy's humor "fell completely flat" and that she just doesn't click with her co-star here

Then there's the acting...it's kinda weird. People in this film say and do things like they're reading cue cards, not having real conversations. Normal folks don't talk or act like that. I wanted to give it a fair shot, I really did, but by the end I wished I'd bounced earlier.

Bottom line: Lucy Hale is great as always, but this movie? Not worth the time. No chemistry, cringe-y lines, and weird reactions... I regret sticking it out.

Nothing new, but enjoyable enough

You know what this movie is. Seriously, you've definitely seem something like this before. It's a cute but forgettable romantic comedy, with a nice little murder mystery side plot (because some murder is always good). And you know what? It does exactly what it sets out to do. It's not profound, or original, or particularly exhilarating. But it's entertaining, silly, and fun. I mean, if you've ever seen a Lucy Hale movie, you know exactly what you're getting into.

I'd argue that it's predominantly a romcom, but the murder mystery angle is really fun. It was definitely a creative way to spice up the genre. Again, nothing amazing here, but a good enough time.

Campy and fun

So this movie isn't going to win any Oscar nominations, but it doesn't aim to. It is campy, over-the-top fun. I love Lucy Hale and she is perfect in this movie. It's a silly satire on online dating today, and it is an easy way to spend an hour and a half while you fold your laundry or clean out your email inbox. This one is destined to be a classic, but it held my interest and got a few chuckles out of me. I'm not sure why you have to use soooo many characters to post a review - I prefer brevity myself - but imd is insisting I keep typing. Just go into it with low expectations and you won't be disappointed.

Chick Flick Wannabe

This film's attempt to blend comedy and romance falls flat, leaving a disjointed and ultimately unsatisfying experience. The humor feels forced, relying on tired tropes and predictable punchlines, while the romantic subplot lacks any genuine chemistry between the leads. The dialogue is clunky and unnatural, further hindering any emotional connection with the characters. It's evident that the producers failed to grasp the nuances of the rom-com genre. A more thorough study of successful films like 'When Harry Met Sally...' or 'Crazy, Stupid, Love.' would have been beneficial. Instead, we're left with a poorly executed mishmash that misses the mark on both comedic timing and romantic sincerity.

Pretty decent

It was pretty decent, well done actually, sadly there was something missing - BUT ITS TOTALLY WATCHABLE

Lucy Hale was great here, so were all the cast...the plot was executed nicely and kind of engaging, the lines were written okay, the acting and scenes were actually amazingly shot, elevating the film beyond its otherwise mediocre content...

The killer reveal was actually not that surprising, but still a nice twist; the scenes leading to it were a bit bland though...All that aside, the movie is perfect for a movie night with friends and people you get to gamble/discuss with to know whos who...

Great cast and cinematography, good story telling, good edits in cuts and transitions, and a decent watch all in all. I can't pinpoint what was missing exactly, but movie and everybody still deserved a 9/10

p.s. Kudos to whomever thought to use the title cause its really inviting, I just saw it while scrolling and got curious; the cherry on top was when I saw the lead - Lucy..so I had to watch!

A fun murderous time.

There is a ridiculous flaw in this film, which is that not one single person seems dissuaded not only from online dating, but insist on using the very app used by a serial killer to rack up his victims.

Let's just ignore that, because this entire film is completely propped up by its array of wacky and likeable characters and their amusing banter and many undersold low key clever moments.

Many of today's adjacent fare rely on completely used up formulas of constant reliance on not only using tropes, but outright pointing them out.

This one doesn't lean on pop culture and film references, apart from a highly amusing salute to "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" in one scene.

There is an energy and wit here usually found in decent comedic films or some of the better and more successful sitcoms.

Serious? Funny? Who Knows, But It's Watchable

It was decent for a casual watch. I can see why it's labelled as a comedy, it often felt unintentionally funny, even during the serious scenes. Definitely gives off a low-budget vibe with a plot that feels like a vacation read-light, messy, and not to be taken seriously.

It's not a film that demands much from you, which makes it okay for time pass. The story doesn't go too deep and some parts are a bit too convenient, but nothing unbearable. Not something I'd revisit, but fine for what it is.

The lead actress is quite pretty, and that honestly helped keep things watchable. Its a light comedy.

Watchable.

F***, Marry, Kill is watchable but don't expect to be mesmerized by it. I liked the fast pace of it so you never get the feeling of getting bored but sometimes the story felt like an episode of one of those television comedy series that have been airing like forever. The acting was decent, the mystery was okay until the second part of the movie where it became obvious who the killer was, well at least to me so I wasn't surprised by the revealing of the culprit. As for the comedy it was just a bit bland, nothing hilarious. All in all it's worth a watch but I won't remember anything about it in a couple days.

Eff, Marry, Kill... for real!

This rom-com-mystery-thriller is a pretty decent movie for comedy junkies. It's heavier on the comedy side, with a little romance, mystery and a dash of thriller. As usual, every mysteries has their own plot twists. So it's the same with this one, there's one at the end of the movie. And although I failed to guess the killer's identity, my guess about the three guys that the main character dated was right. The acting was decent, so you won't have to worry about ruining your fun time with bad acting. And I've seen what bad acting looks like. Trust me, I've seen plenty. The story line is very straight forward and it has a good ending. So, rom-com fans out there, why not try this one?

A charismatic comedy thanks to its cast

Director Laura Murphy offers us a romantic comedy with thriller overtones that is quite acceptable, thanks to the charisma of its protagonists who fit perfectly into a fun script.

Starring Lucy Hale, Virginia Gardner and Brooke Nevin in a comedy that offers us a purely female project that is quite enjoyable because it has an entertaining story to tell and that takes great advantage of the versatility of its protagonists, especially Lucy Hale, who carries on her shoulders all the high moments of the film.

It has a couple of games with interesting secondary characters and awkward situations that are funny and that allows us to never have a point of disconnection with the story, even though at times it loses a bit of the initial force that it brings.

It's a slightly fun ride in terms of its various situations, but it will always be far from consolidating itself as one of the great comedies that came to us in 2024. It has good direction behind it and a successful cast that make the most of the high points of its script, but they also fall when the film gets tangled up in its own path of being able to identify well where it wants to take its entire premise, but it must be granted that they handle its final twist well although one could smell that it was coming.

It works for those who enjoy simple, feminist comedies with appealing cast elements. If you're looking for something more sophisticated, this film won't take you too far out of your comfort zone, but it ends up being enjoyable nonetheless.

Super Fun Thriller Comedy!

Super fun. Lucy is great! This reminded me of being on Hinge. Lucky I didn't get killed, so I can write this! The movie is self-aware and doesn't take itself seriously. Just pop it on, relax and enjoy.

You will know ALL of the guys here because you've met each of them before IRL. And the girls problems are real. Getting out of an LTR and figuring out the dating world again.... a best friend who sometimes isn't always the best of friends when you need them... and just trying to decode what dudes really mean when you find out something strange about them and just ask for a simple answer! Crazy. On the money!

Bland, but watchable...

While I was not familiar with the 2024 movie "F*** Marry Kill" from director Laura Murphy, I opted to watch it as I had the opportunity to do so here in 2025. Truth be told, I didn't know hat I was in for, and thus had no expectations to the movie. So I suppose that director Laura Murphy had every opportunity to entertain and impress me.

Writers Ivan Diaz, Dan Scheinkman and Meghan Brown put together a fair enough script and storyline, though the narrative was a bit mundanely paced. I was sort of missing more thrills and excitement in the movie. But the writers concocted a narrative that paces along in a monotonous pace, and there wasn't really a lot of thrills to be experiences throughout the course of the 97 minutes that the movie ran for.

I was not familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, aside from actor Jedidiah Goodacre. And I do enjoy watching unfamiliar talents on the screen when I sit down to watch a movie. The acting performances in the movie were good.

A bit disappointing, but overall a watchable enough movie for what it was. It was, though, a somewhat forgettable and bland thriller.

My rating of director Laura Murphy's 2024 movie "F*** Marry Kill" lands on a five out of ten stars.

Literally one of the worst movies I've ever seen

Not even satirically funny this was horribly horribly bad. So dumb I don't want to give it any more words but I have to in order to make the review go through. Main actor is usually in a lot of ridiculous satirical movies but this was a career ender... But she'll probably show up and a bunch of other bad movies... I literally don't think that it's possible that she'll end up in one as bad as this one however. Writers and directors should be fired.

SO. BAD. I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE I HAVE TO KEEP MAKING WORDS TO PUT THIS REVIEW THROUGH THAT AGAIN SAYS THIS WAS A TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE HORRIBLE STUPID BAD MOVIE.

Yes

Saw this movie a while ago and forgot to rate it. As always Lucy Hale knocked it out of the park. She tore this role up like she does every role. Yes Lucy is eye candy so people will watch to simply look at her in awe. But let's be honest, her talent is out of this world and I don't think she gets enough credit. This movie of course has its funny moments. I was pretty shocked at the ending. I didnt really expect it to be that person or anyone of those people. That's all ill say because I ain't giving no spoilers but you'll probably be surprised at the ending like I was. Great movie and as always Lucy was looking as beautiful as ever.

Hidden Gen of 2024

This movie should be bigger. Lucy Hale is as charming and likeable as Jonathan Bailey was in Wicked. Those 2 need to do a RomCom together. A joy to watch her navigate this movie.

And everyone in the supporting cast is a homerun. I don't know who i like more, Eva's sister Valerie, her ex boyfriend Jake, or her neighbor who is in the movie for less than a minute being a true friend.

I see all these reviews on here with cliche this, cliche that-yes, all RomComs follow a formula. But this one has engaging characters all around and one of the most funny, likeable leads in a RomCom in recent memory. Easy 10/10.
