Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Watchers.
The Watchers and other horror films like Dark Was the Night delve into folklore and the creepy magic of the environment. Despite flaws, The Watchers is a fun watch with great performances & interesting Irish folklore. Films like The Wretched & It Follows offer thrilling supernatural elements, like The Watchers
Many great horror movies exist with similar themes, genres, and plot devices to Ishana Night Shyamalan's The Watchers. The new horror movie directed by M. Night Shyamalan's daughter tells the story of a young woman named Mina who gets stuck in a forest alongside three strangers named Madeline, Daniel, and Ciara. The four must follow the rules of mysterious supernatural creatures lest they be murdered. The Watchers ending includes a captivating, albeit poorly executed, exploration of what it means to be human.

For a quarter of a century now, Mark Lanegan has been running away from his past.
From the mid-Eighties until 2000, he fronted Screaming Trees, a hard rocking, neo-psychedelic band that got swept up in the major labels’ Seattle-grunge gold rush and crossed over into the mainstream with “Nearly Lost You.” Along the way, Lanegan befriended Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley, recorded with the supergroup Mad Season, and launched a solo career playing bluesy, rootsy rock that was more melancholy and brooding than the output of his grungy peers. Monster Hunter: World is set to release January 26, 2018. Current fans of the series who played the beta are already touting it as the best Monster Hunter made to date. Some first timers to the game in beta seem lukewarm about it, with complaints that the button mechanics are unfamiliar and not intuitive, although that may simply be the result of the beta version having such a bare bones tutorial. Gamers that enjoy open area environments with interactive ecosystems, and hunting and taking down large prey through a combination of combat tactics and tracking are most likely in for a treat.

Before Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter dominated Capcom’s lineup of video games, Mega Man was the company’s most successful franchise. It was 30 years ago in 1987, when we first caught a glimpse of the super robot Mega Man who immediately captured our hearts with his determination to fight the mad scientist, Dr. Wily. To celebrate this huge milestone as the franchise approaches its 30th year, Capcom has announced via a Twitch stream dedicated to Mega Man, that announced all future releases that includes a new game, and a re-release of beloved classics. Check out some of the images of the games from the Capcom Unity blog below:
Mega Man 11
First off, lets talk about the newest game that Capcom will introduce in the franchise, Mega Man 11. It has been seven years since the last entry in the main storyline was released when Mega Man 10 hit the Wii,...

The nominations for the Game Awards have been revealed and it should come to a surprise by no one that Nintendo is leading the way in nominations this year! Here are all the nominations and how to vote!
On December 7, 2017, 2017's video games, their studios, and the people who play them will be honored during The Game Awards 2017, hosted by Geoff Keighley. This year's event should have the gaming world buzzing, as Nintendo is finally in the limelight with about 24 nominations. No other studio can hold that distinction, but Nintendo. It's a long time coming for the once-booming company. The uptick can be attributed to their brand new system, the Nintendo Switch, that has changed the way the world games, as well as the way Nintendo develops.
Video games' biggest night is always a great time to reflect on the best games of the year, but it's also a huge night for reveals.

If you want to see Michael Shannon do some fun lighthearted Christmas comedy, we've got a trailer for his new film Pottersville that you have to see. This is definitely a different kind of role for Shannon, who mostly plays serious and dramatic characters. The guy is a great actor and it's kinda cool and interesting to see him make a movie like this where he plays a guy who dresses up in a gorilla costume and is mistaken for the legendary Bigfoot.
It may not look like the greatest movie in the world, but it does have an impressive supporting cast that includes Judy Greer, Tom Lennon, Ron Perlman, Christina Hendricks, and Ian McShane. With a cast like that, I'm excited! Here's the synopsis:
Its a long cold winter in Pottersville, and struggling store owner Maynard (Shannon) is hit by hard times. During a late-night drunken wander through town,...

Paris Games Week isn't really one of the premiere gaming events of the year, but Sony is treating it as such. The company has plans to provide updates on 22 PS4 and Psvr titles, as well as announce seven new games.
Fans wanting to jump in and see what the buzz is all about can tune in to Sony's live stream beginning at 12 p.m. Et. Those who want to skip the updates on games we already know about and get right to the new stuff should tune in at 1 p.m. Et.
As for what we can expect I'm assuming we'll see more of Spider-Man and Monster Hunter World, and possibly Fallout Vr? As far as the game announcements are concerned I'm expecting maybe two or three titles to be excited about, with maybe some somewhat interesting Psvr games getting tossed in there as well.

There's no denying it, Monster Hunter: World is the most visually impressive entry of the game to date, and that's especially evident in this new 9-minute video of gameplay. In this video, you'll see a team of hunters (who looks fairly skilled at the game) take on a Barroth and engage in a long battle to capture the monster! Check it out below and keep in mind Monster Hunter: World is on track for a 2018 release date.

A new trailer highlighting Monster Hunter has been released for Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite, and it's just weird. Maybe I've been out of the franchise too long, but since when does the main character in Monster Hunter speak? Here's another question, when did these guys get so fast because I've never seen a great sword get swung that quickly when I'm trying to take down a beast!
Jokes aside, it is a bit jarring to see such a generic customizable character in a franchise and try to give them a personality. Am I alone on this? Check out the trailer below for the Dlc character and let us know if it's creeping you out as well.

Capcom dropped a new trailer at the Tokyo Game Show today, announcing the release date, pre-order bonuses, and special editions for Monster Hunter: World.
"The Tgs trailer shows the wild and wonderful variety of creatures featured in the game, from the lizard-like Pukei-Pukei with its extending tongue, to the terrifying monster Nergigante. The beautiful but dangerous Coral Highlands stage was also unveiled – don’t stand around too long gazing at the gorgeous scenery or risk ending up as monster fodder! Players have a wide variety of gear to assist them in navigating the fantastical environments in the game, including the Glider mantle. You can use this to extend your air-time after a jump and, as seen in the new trailer, in some areas, you may even be able to catch a lift on a rising wind draft to quickly reach higher ground."

Dauntless is a new PC title that will seem very familar to Monster Hunter fans, which makes it rather exciting.
The new game from Phoenix Labs is very similar to the likes of Monster Hunter where a team of slayers take on big beasts in vast open lands. The game uses a new live service which will give players updates including "Behemoths, weapons and armor, islands, story expansions and much more in the Closed Beta and beyond. "
The game has several Founders Packs online which will grant you access to the currently running closed beta of the game. An open beta will follow, but there is currently no release date for that or the eventual release. The final release will include a "free-to-play" version, but those buying founders packs will obviously have more content and unlock things faster.
“The Founder’s Alpha has been an inspirational experience for everyone here at Phoenix Labs.

In Monster Hunter: World, players gear up to seek and slay ferocious monsters in an incredible living, breathing ecosystem. They won’t be heading into battle unarmed though! Players can choose from 14 different weapon types based on their preferred playstyle and these can be changed mid-quest, depending on what the hunt demands. We have a sneak peek at the benefits and unique traits of the full arsenal in three new videos which demonstrate that there’s a vast range of unique weapons for players to choose from, whether they’re new to the hunt or already a seasoned veteran.
Each weapon type has a different overall playstyle and characteristics which are showcased in the videos. Swords and blades can be useful in cutting damage and executing fast paced attacks, impact weapons like hammers can cause high damage and stun opponents while ranged weapons such as bowguns allow you to attack beasts from afar.

Gameplay has emerged for the two-man horror hunting game, Hunt: Showdown. Watch the 10-minute demo to experience how unique this game will be.
Hunting the undead in a Louisiana swamp has never looked as terrifying as it does watching this gameplay trailer for Hunt: Showdown, from E3 2017. Hunt: Showdown is a Pvp Monster Hunter game by Crytek, the studio better known for the Crysis series. Today, Crytek is showing how gamers can complete the main objective of the game while fending off monsters and competing gamers.
The voices you heard were from Hunt creative director Magnus Larbrant and level design director Chris Auty as they tried navigating through the Louisiana swamp to find the vicious spider, banish it, and collect the bounty. Despite it being edited down for time, you can see that a lot goes into completing your objective during each 20-40 minute match.

The doors to the La Convention Center have officially closed and another E3 has been put in the books. As we reflect on what was one of the most intriguing E3’s in recent memory, we honor the games that got us excited, that made us say “wow” with our Cinelinx Best of E3 Award! Last year You picked The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as our inaugural winner. Who will win it in Year 2? See below and cast your vote!
Strange Brigade
“Strange Brigade is a four player co-op or single player action, puzzle, and hoard game. In a way, it reminds me of a less-narrative-based Uncharted game. Definitely a blast to play.” - Eric
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
Speaking of Uncharted, it looks like Naughty Dog has done it again with The Lost Legacy. They managed to make to side-characters and make them the stars in their own incredible adventure.

The initial trailer for Monster Hunter World during Sony’s E3 2017 press conference was the first time in a very long time I’ve felt compelled to try an entry in Capcom’s blockbuster franchise of my own free will. It’s not that I consider the games “bad” or anything, of course — I’ve enjoyed titles like Monster Hunter Generations enough to give them a hearty recommendation when assigned them for review, and I’ve watched with envy as others close to me (most notably, my brother, who played Tri religiously on Wii) have an absolute blast with the series.
No, my problem has always been that the central mechanics just never clicked with me; there’s a stiffness to the movement of the hunters that put me off, and since Capcom has seen fit to reuse what feels like pretty much the same engine for the last decade or so,...

Over here in the West, Capcom’s name is, more often than not, associated with beat ’em ups and survival horror, but there’s one particular genre that it mastered long, long ago that, outside of Japan, is often overlooked.
The Monster Hunter series, itself an acclaimed, multi-million selling franchise, is about to attract a whole lot more attention for itself outside of Japan, thanks to Monster Hunter World – the latest entry in the RPG series that’s coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
Officially unveiled yesterday as the surprise opener to Sony’s E3 conference, World represents the series’ return to the platform where it was born, but this particular sequel looks considerably more ambitious than anything that’s come before. With the exception of a short stint on the Nintendo Wii and Wii U, a dedicated Monster Hunter title for consoles has been the stuff of legend,...

Monster Hunter World will be hitting all consoles and PC, check out the first trailer after the jump !
The game was revealed during the PlayStation E3 2017 Press Conference and more details are coming as E3 continues. So far the game is known to have multiplayer with up to 4 people so you can take on monsters with your buddies. The feature will also connect Japan with North America online, which is a first for the franchise as they normally have separate servers.
The game is also gong to launch across all regions at the same time in "early 2018." The only exception being a PC release which will come at a later date, which Capcom didn't mention a time frame for.
Retaining the series’ skill based progression and robust crafting system, players gear up to venture on quests to seek and slay monsters, progressively improving their skills to become the ultimate hunter.

The entire roster for Capcom’s crossover brawler Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite appears to have leaked online, revealing the return (and absence) of several fan favorite characters. Coming by way of NeoGAF user Ryce (via VG247), the list pegs the number of characters included in the final roster at 28, with 14 representatives for each side, although Capcom’s side appears to be missing one member, a spot that, Ryce speculates, could be reserved for Dead Rising‘s Frank West.
As usual, none of this should be considered official until Capcom says otherwise, but Ryce has been accurate with various leaks relating to Infinite in the past, so the credibility is certainly there. Anyway, without further ado, you can see the near-complete roster below. It goes without saying, of course, that you’ll be reading spoilers galore beyond this point.

A quick update from Capcom shows Monster Hunter Xx (Double Cross) heading to Nintendo Switch.
Capcom updated theiir official website with the new listing showing Monster Hunter Xx on the Nintendo Switch. No futher details have been revealed just yet.
The good news is we probably don't have to wait for E3 to hear more about this one. Instead The Monster Hunter Championship event is taking place this weekend which is where we can most certainly hear more about the upcoming game.
Xx is an expanded version of Generations which released for the 3Ds in 2016 for Na, and 2015 for Japan. We can expect this to have a similar situation where it releases in Japan first, and following regions later. It is unclear when we will see it so far though.

Nintendo held their latest Nintendo Direct, focusing on what's next for the Nintendo Switch! So, what is next? Games, a lot more games. Come inside for more!
One of the biggest complaints about the Nintendo Switch, when it came out, were the limited amount of titles available to play. The other was the lack of the Virtual Console. While we're still waiting for the latter, the former is about to be resolved swiftly.
During the latest Nintendo Direct, the Nintendo executives announced a slew of new games coming to the Switch, in the very near future. You already heard about Splatoon 2, but what about the others? The following are the games announced during the Nintendo Direct:
Arms - One of the biggest features in the upcoming fighting game is the ability to equip two types of customizable Arms per fighter. These Arms range from standard gloved Arms to curved weapons like boomerangs.

The Toukiden games are hack and slash RPGs with a playstyle that clearly hankers after the Monster Hunter series. Toukiden 2 continues many basic traditions of the genre, while still putting a unique stamp on the story and combat.
After creating my character, the game threw me straight into a battle against Oni. These demons had just crashed their way into the world and were intent on destroying everything in their paths. During a combat tutorial, a huge Oni rudely interrupted by throwing me 10 years into the future. This set-up implied that the story would focus on my character trying to go back to their own time while dealing with their convenient amnesia. In actuality, Toukiden 2 isn’t really about any of that.
The game’s focus is on the village of Mahoroba that I happened to land myself in. Here, the people are surviving in a devastated world where Oni are still a constant threat.

You may not know who Phoenix Labs are yet, but you soon will. Founded in 2014 by former employees of BioWare, Blizzard, Capcom and Rio, the studio unveiled their first project during tonight’s Game Awards – Dauntless.
Borrowing elements from games such as Diablo and Monster Hunter, Dauntless is a co-operative fantasy RPG. Up to four slayers will team up in order to take down massive creatures known as Behemoths. As you hunt down these monsters, you’ll be able to craft your own gear and weapons. In the debut cinematic trailer seen above, we watch as four unique hunters come together in order to fight off a giant winged foe.
Outside of those limited details, though, not much is known about the free-to-play adventure at this moment. However, the gorgeous artstyle the game possesses, as well as the pedigree of talent working behind the scenes, make it a title worth keeping an eye on.

Video Game adaptations are still a tricky business in Hollywood, but that isn't going to stop filmmakers from trying to make them work. We can now add Monster Hunter to the growing list of movies based on video games in active development. The man behind it? Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil director Paul W.S. Anderson.
The director recently spoke with Deadline and revealed that he intends to make Monster Hunter his next movie. He is currently in post-production on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, another video game adaptation, at least in name, which is due out in January. Back in 2011, Capcom producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced that there was a big screen adaptation in the works for their video game franchise Monster Hunter. Director Paul W.S. Anderson has been interested in developing this property for years, and now it looks like he's going to make it!
Anderson directed the original Mortal Kombat film and the Resident Evil film franchise. This seems like the kind of film that he would want to make.
In case you're not familiar, Monster Hunter is a series of fantasy-themed action role-playing games that all started in 2004 on the PlayStation 2. Resident Evil director Paul W S Anderson believes Monster Hunter could be the next big blockbuster.
Director Paul W S Anderson's greatest claim to film fame has arguably been his work on the Resident Evil movies. While far from masterpieces, those films have exceeded the expectations of filmgoers everywhere by being movies based on video games which aren't always completely unwatchable. We are very partial to Event Horizon though, we should add.
