Roaming

Edit
'Roaming' was produced through the inaugural 'First Feature Program', a joint venture between Telefilm & Film Nova Scotia. The success of the program resulted in Telefilm & Film Nova Scotia renewing the venture the following year.
The script for "Roaming" was initially title "A Darwinian Paradox" and written by Michael Ray Fox in 2007. "Hobo With a Shotgun" writer John Davies convinced Fox to change the title.
Writer/Director Michael Ray Fox had stated the title 'Roaming' both literally refers to cell phone use outside of the country and figuratively to the characters having no clear direction in their lives.
"Roaming" was the inaugural film chosen by Telefilm Canada's "First Feature Program", a partnership with Film Nova Scotia. The success of the experimental program facilitated Telefilm's Nation-Wide "Micro Budget Program".
Rhys Bevan-John, Martha Irving, and Josh MacDonald were nominated for the 2012 ACTRA Maritimes Awards for their performances in "Roaming". The film earned the most nominations out of any Maritime film produced in 2012. While Bevan-John won for Outstanding Male Performance, Irving lost to Deborah Allen for her performance in "Bag of Bones".
