Detective Knight: Independence serves as the last film in the Detective Knight trilogy, as well as the last movie Bruce Willis worked on before retiring from acting, due to his diagnosis with aphasia and dementia in 2022. The film was shot in November 2021, four months before Willis' retirement.
The opening bank robbery sequence was done by cutting two separate takes together.
Two different ambulances were used for the chase sequence. One was used for the interior shots and a second one for exterior shots.
This whole film was shot in only seven days.
