BBC Studios has unveiled a major expansion of its long-standing partnership with Movistar Plus+ in Spain, bringing new content offerings to Spanish audiences. The announcement comes just ahead of BBC Studios’ annual Showcase event on Feb. 24-25 and marks a significant increase in the company’s presence in the Spanish market.

Under the new, multi-year deal, BBC Studios will introduce BBC Player, a VOD service offering up to 1,000 hours of curated content from the BBC’s extensive catalogue. The service will feature a mix of scripted and unscripted titles, including popular shows like “The Louis Theroux Interviews” and “Amanda & Alan’s Italian Job.” BBC Player will be available to Movistar Plus+ subscribers later this year, alongside the launch of additional Fast (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) channels.

The Libertines are back with “Night of the Hunter,” the latest single from their upcoming album, All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade.

Arriving nearly two months after the band announced their comeback album, All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade (their first full-length release in nine years), “Night of the Hunter” is a story song partially inspired by the 1955 film of the same name starring Robert Mitchum as a preacher who has the words “Love” and “Hate” tattooed on his knuckles.

As The Libertines’ Peter Doherty explains: “The song’s about not staying ahead of the law. This fella doesn’t really know why his mate’s dead, but he’s got a feeling his mate had it coming to him. Pete Doherty has opened up about how years of drug and alcohol abuse have ravaged his health. During an appearance on the BBC series Louis Theroux Interviews (via The Independent), The Libertines frontman explained how it feels like death is “lurking.”

Louis Theroux accidentally offended Dame Judi Dench with one of his interview questions.

The documentarian sat down with the Oscar-winning actor for an episode of his BBC series Louis Theroux Interviews, which aired on Tuesday (1 November).

The actor told Theroux that she owned 17 cats during the war, Theroux replied: “During which war?”

Dench, 87, said: “Well, the Second World War. Louis!”

The Belfast star jokingly told off Theroux, 52, for implying that she could have been alive during the First World War (1914 - 1918).

“Am I the only person who heard that? ‘Which war?’” she quipped.

Theroux laughed and quickly tried to defend himself, saying: “I thought you meant the Vietnam war.”

“Oh. No, the Second World War,” Dench laughed.
