One of the original stars of Netflix's hit show Stranger Things has been cast in another Netflix supernatural series alongside Josh Hartnett and Mackenzie Davis.
Per Variety, Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton has joined the cast of an untitled supernatural limited series at Netflix created by Jesse McKeown. The series logline reads, "When a mysterious sea creature terrorizes a remote Newfoundland town, a hard-bitten fisherman (Hartnett) must fight to protect his family, his community, and his vanishing way of life."
McKeown is best known for his work as a writer on the cop drama 19-2, the Hulu comedy Letterkenny, and the superhero Netflix series The Umbrella Academy. Harnett has recently appeared in Oppenheimer and The Bear. Davis is best known for Black Mirror and Blade Runner 2049.

Gravitas Ventures has acquired U.S. rights to Caden Douglas’ dark comedy “Mother Father Sister Brother Frank.” The distributor will release the film on Tvod beginning Oct. 8. The film has also been sold for U.K., Australia and New Zealand distribution rights to Miracle Media Investments, which plans to release the film later this year.
The film follows a suburban family as their uncle crashes Sunday dinner with a nasty surprise, and murder winds up on the menu. It had its world premiere earlier this year at Panic Fest in the U.S.
The cast is led by Mindy Cohn as the mother, Enrico Colantoni as the father, Melanie Leishman as the sister, Iain Stewart (“Reign”) as the brother, Juan Chioran as Frank, and Sharron Matthews.
Producers include Matt Schichter and Micheal Lomenda, co-producer Johnathan Sharp, and executive producers at HighballTV.

Jowsey has joined the roster, which is a subsidiary of Trending, the Gen Z media company that the Call Her Daddy host established with her fiancé, Xo Kitty producer Matt Kaplan, who runs Ace Entertainment.
