Julie R. Ølgaard and Roland Møller in Neurosis (2023)

Review by tjboyd00

Neurosis

9/10

Some ingenuous comments from anti-abortionist(s) it seems

Find this movie refreshingly thoughtful, not the Hollywood mega action superhero shlock, very good detective mystery. It is realistic for a difficult subject. There is some gruesome scenes I skipped over, but certainly does not let the viewer remain detached from the messy subject. I believe the repressed feeling of the main characters is a realistic response to their tangled lives and the emotional strain involved in trying to remain functional human beings. I believe that the flat affect of the actors are intentional in the script and direction, and completely appropriate. This is not an action movie where I would expect over the top hyper emotions. This is one about inner conflicts and emotional and moral ambiguity and how one can deal with reality, that the world is not a place of the 100% righteous and 100% evil, but that we have them both within ourselves and need to deal in life with situations that are not clear cut good and bad, but a combination of both.

I love the.
