In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon, Rajeev Khandelwal shared his thoughts on the ongoing debate of pay cheques and pay disparity in the Bollywood film industry. The actor, who has transitioned from television to films, blames producers for creating the trend of high-pay cheques and now complaining about it.
Khandelwal agrees that there is a pay disparity issue, but emphasizes that it’s a result of the industry’s focus on success. He states, “This is an industry where people only salute your success… When success happens, packages become a topic of discussion, and disparity arises.”
The actor points fingers at producers, saying, “If producers have problems with actors demanding high pay packages, they should remember that they created these actors and their demands.” He adds, “You started this trend, and now you’re dealing with it. If you had set boundaries earlier, like not allowing actors’ families to stay...

We had first met the class actor, Rajeev Khandelwal, a few years back, during his visit to the famous Aligarh Muslim University. Three notable films release this weekend – ‘Kaanchi’, ‘Revolver Rani’ and ‘Samrat & Co.’. Each of these boasts of a merit of its own. ‘Kaanchi’ sees the return of Subhash Ghai as a director and one waits to see if this is yet another larger than life cinema in the offering from him. ‘Revolver Rani’ has Kangna Ranaut returning after ‘Queen’, which is still running in theaters. ‘Samrat & Co.’ is yet another thriller from Rajeev Khandelwal after ‘Table No. 21′ and ‘Aamir’, both of which were successes.
From the hype perspective, none of the three films has managed to hit the roof, though there are good credentials involved. However, it is expected that there would be primarily a fight between ‘Kaanchi’ and ‘Revolver Rani’, right from screen count, show timings to opening footfalls. Though not much is expected to differentiate between the two, ‘Revolver Rani’ may just about manage to edge out...

2013 has undoubtedly been an eventful year with a plethora of movies, brilliant performances, songs and so much more! 10. Chashme Baddoor:
Remakes are not everyone’s cup of tea, and we have seen some terrible remakes recently. Chashme Baddoor at some level can be an exception though. Despite an all around cynicism surrounding it right from the time Shahid Kapoor on board for this Prabhu Deva directed affair, R… Rajkumar managed to enjoy a good week at the box office. Even though the film enjoyed a healthy weekend, there were detractors baying for its blood and being almost sure that it would crash during the weekdays. This didn’t happen though as audience gave a green signal to the film, hence allowing it to collect consistently in days to follow as well. Result? First week collections are in the tune of 47 crores, hence paving the way for a more than respectable lifetime total ahead.
For Shahid Kapoor, the film is a huge respite indeed. Not just it has managed to cross the lifetime total of his biggest grosser till date, Kaminey [42 crore], it is also set to be one of the top grossers of the year. Ditto for...

A thriller, 10 Janpath (as the title suggests) has a political premise to it and brings Amit into an unexplored territory again. Also, the buzz is that his part in the film is quite hard hitting. "There is no escaping a strong special set up in 10 Janpath either," says Viki, "The title by itself says it all. Amit just fitted the bill. The film is also special for us since it brings Aditya, Paresh Rawal, Eros and me together again after Table No. 21, which again had a social theme to it." Box-office has been unusually quite throughout the first month of the year 2013! Except for a moderate success in the form of Table No.21, the rest of the films have failed to draw the audience to the theaters. The chilly winter in the North and Central India too has not helped matters. However, the dull scenario is about to witness a change as the upcoming release of the week is Tips' Race 2, the quasi-sequel to the highly successful Race.Directed by the king of thri...

Table No. 21 which was the first release of the new year has received encouraging reviews and has been claimed as a surprise at the box – office. The movie has been critically acclaimed for it’s script and the story line written by Shantanu Ray Chibber and Sheershak Anand. Both are ecstatic with the response the movie has received. Sheershak says ” Its encouraging to get such a great response from the critics and the audience.”Paresh Rawal who plays a key role also seems to be bursting with excitement and claims that after years in the industry it is still a high to receive such raving reviews about one’s film.
“I got goose bumps when I read the script. It is amazing how one can create, imagine and write such a story. It is probably the way the story unfolds; the way the characters are defined is very intriguing and interesting.

Film: "Table No.21"; Cast: Rajeev Khandelwal, Tena Desae, Paresh Rawal; Directed by Aditya Dutta; Rating: *** - surprisingly taut thriller.
The last 30 minutes of this gripping thriller has a life of its own. In fact, the end-game is so stunning and so overpowering in its message, that it makes us overlook the ingrained improbability of the rest of the film.
Not that "Table No.21" (and wait till you figure out why and how the film gets its title!) doesn't work in its totality. It does. It's a surprisingly good, almost-kickass way to start your movie-going in 2013. A goodlooking original thriller shot in eye-catching Fiji,.

Mumbai, Dec 16: Actress Tena Desae, who is gearing up for the release for her new film "Table No.21" says, not just script, it is important for her to understand the entire set-up of the film before signing on the dotted line.
"You can't just base it on a script...the promotional activity of the film is equally important, so until I know the set-up is strong, I don't want to do any film," the actress told Ians.
She admits smaller set-ups today have the best scripts.
"The smaller set-ups have all the good scripts. But when you go to a big set-up, the character may not be as strong as you would want it to be. So I am looking.
