I didn't expect much before I start watching this series but turns out its a comedy with a heartwarming message to the audience. And I felt in love with the main character during the first court case (the pickpocket) I didn't expect to so in such an emotional roller coaster but this is what i get from that story alone.
Of course its not all perfect, there are some of those nonsense comedy scenes as well but I find them very entertaining and I laughed very loud so many times during those nonsense.
Its very hard to find a good comedy series nowadays but if you're looking for some great stuff.. look no more.. this series is "it"

This series has won my heart, it is perfect from the starting to the end there is no boredom, from starting of the first episode only it is so much interesting which made me to watch and continue on the go, they also took several story like cases which makes it more interesting to watch rather than telling one long story on whole series and also the acting is so perfect and also there are some comedy moments too I liked the concept of the 1 dollar lawyer and this should be one of the must watch list in the kdrama thing and they also ellaborated the main story at the end which made even more interesting overall i liked it....

This show has a number of flaws, which are nicely stated in other reviews. However, in my eyes the charm of the drama is The Mixture of its strengths and faults. As these series are vastly idealistic, it has little relation to the real world behaviours and outcomes, which makes its comedy parts stronger.
The main actors are superb, the script is well written and the story flows nicely, with only a few drops here and there, all the characters stay true to themselves (for me that is always a monumental plus) and the comedy is on point (even the cringey parts).
Could it have been made better? Dropped a bit of cringe, added some more subplot for the second leads? Of course. The problem of Perfection is that it does not have a completeness, a finish line, unlike the real life projects and people's energy levels. At some point someone has to say "it's good enough".
While watching this drama one can feel that it is made with love and care, no feeling of laziness. And I truly appreciate it.

The drama had a good and gripping start with the trial and everything surrounding it but it was the only trial in the drama. The rest turned out to be something different. I wish we had more like that trial. Although the silliness and slacking around was fun at first but it got a little tiring later on and padding the drama with 3 full episodes of flashbacks with a serious tone wasn't enough. Despite its shorter runtime there were big inconsistencies rooming around, it's like they had 3 dramas with 3 different ideas shoved into one. However, the drama always felt like there was something missing to formula. I really liked the concept, it had much more to offer than we were shown. The characters and their dynamic had a lot of potential to be expanded upon. The cast also brought up a good performance to the screen. I found the murder case to be the weakest part of the drama and somewhat boring, it also took too much time before moving on to something else. Right just when we started to get real development the drama ended, that was really unfortunate. I don't think this will get season 2 based on what they've done with these 12 episodes.
This features some really excellent script writing which pairs well with excellent performances by Min Namkoong and the entire cast. There's a lot packed into this series which works the present and past for all they're worth. Why is the fee only one dollar? That answer is revealed over the course of the series and it's definitely worth the watching wait. Some very serious legal/social issues are embedded making this far more than a comic romp. It's not. For romantics--yes, there's a love story. Pay attention because the shifts from present to past and back are subtle. Some great visual film work too.
