Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Haddi (2023)

Only for Nawaj

LGBQT is handled very commercially. However, the story is 10 star. But the output wasn't that good. Editing is the worst. When only muteness was required they played a song.

There was some misunderstanding in audiences about era. 6 months ahead or 11 months back.

Moreover, lovestory of two gays is highly underated. They don't even feel like (on screen) that they are in love. Leave apart the tragedy and felt like comedy that happens.

Terrace scene, nuances, like why his friends start fighting is not well epicted.

But in the whole plot, Nawaz. Best performance.

Anurag, u r better as a director, don't act, don't play a villian next time.

Boneless

Admya Bhalla and director Akshat Ajay Sharma collaborated on the film, and it commendably avoids delving into the sensitive topic of eunuch rights or portraying them as helpless. It treats its characters with care while delivering a potent message against those who pose a threat.

However, the frequent shifts between the past and present weaken the story. The film starts with a flurry of events and names, making it challenging to follow. Viewers must commit to memory, but as the plot unfolds, the characters gradually become more recognizable.

Just as the story gains momentum, it meanders among inconsequential characters. The narrative advances for several months leading up to the climax, yet it fails to explore the significant transformation of Bone as he establishes his own party.

This leaves numerous unanswered questions in the film's conclusion, as the editing lacks cohesion. Nonetheless, the film excels in depicting the beautifully portrayed love story between Irrfan and Haddi.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, known for his experimental roles, continues to impress with his portrayal of a transgender woman, demonstrating a deep understanding of her mannerisms and speech.

The emotional impact when Haddi's family reacts to Pramod's death through clapping is both poignant and heart-wrenching. Saurabh Sachdeva's performance as Inder feels authentic from the very beginning.

Anurag Kashyap falls short in his negative role, with repetitive facial expressions throughout. Ila Arun as Revathi Amma and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayub as Irrfan have limited screen time and incomplete character development. The song "Beparda" aptly suits the film's context.

For Nawazudin

Rating 6 this movie only the great performance of Nawazudin .. movie has no story line neither well directed ....Mr. Siddiqui gave his best but it was not enough I guess . Watched this movie only for Nawazudin . As I read few reviews here which has a point that as a great actor Mr. Siddiqui should chose his roles for movies or series very carefully . This movie is just a waste of his talents and waste of viewers time .

Hope for something good to watch more of Mr. Siddiqui ... Dont waste your time watching this ...... I guess series Taali came out same time which collasped this movie and talent.

Don't fall for the good reviews

This film marked Akshat Ajay Sharma's directorial debut and while it was his first foray into filmmaking, it seemed that his confusion during the process mirrored the audience's experience. Both the director and the audience remains in a complete state of confusion during the good half of the movie. The movie commences in a disjointed manner, with scenes lacking coherence, often overlapping haphazardly. As the film reaches its midpoint, a flashback is introduced (although it remains baffling why filmmakers persist in using this tired method to reveal motives halfway through) and at that point, the narrative begins to make some semblance of sense. However, due to the lack of continuity throughout the film, despite the potential in the story and plot, the execution falls badly and a complete noose dive.

Regarding Nawazuddin, my advice would be to reconsider acting solely for the sake of friendship and instead thoroughly review scripts before committing to future projects.

Must watch , Nawaz is superb , script is different, all characters are having great convincing.

Ila Arun looking so graceful but her role is less although strong , but I wished to see her more.

Mohini and Irwan went so well that we got into it , Harika love story n revenge for gharana , all great All emotions are handled beautifully..

Female in male portrayed well , big applause for producer n director , songs are also suiting n beautiful Mentioning of Ramayana in end also showing n giving respect to 3rd gender Without glamour , without heroine , movie is perfect 10/10 for Nawaz. And 10/10 for songs Script n action 8/10 Take some time n watch it .

Boneless

Sameer lodaya

The makers have titled the movie haadi (bone) but the movie is totally bone less

The content is about revenge of a transgender whose entire world was destroyed by a politician for a land cause the execution was dull thus making the movie uninteresting and heavy on mind due to lot of violence.

Anurag was shockingly good Nawaz was little more and loud than required

Bad luck for this movie is taali series on transgender was already released though the content was different but people compare them.

I watched only for nawaz and apologise for bad review as I expected a lot and will keep expecting from the team to deliver a better quality product.

A Wow movie!!!!

I wish to appreciate Nawazuddin Siddiqui for his amazing performance. The movie shows its characterisation, plot, action in a very subtle way. You'll definitely love and praise the character of Arika in this movie. Also, you'll love Nawajuddin in action. His dialogue is impressive: "Main Nahin Marta".

Each and every character from the movie has performed very well and hence deserves our appreciation. This movie shows the life of 3rd gender and the way the society devalues it. The song Beparwa is also very good and suits all the takes throughout the movie. Nawajuddin's acting performance in all forms is impressive and praiseworthy.

worst movie by nawaz bhai

Why not to watch haddi: 1- bad editing cuts 2- low class graphic 3- worst story link 4- overacting of anurag kashyap & others 5- all the time u are just wondering " what the hell is happening & how " he explains why people from the community are feared and why their revenge is the most dangerous thing ever. What follows for the next 30-40 minutes is a series of gruesome sequences that feel disjointed.

However, if you patiently watch through the first few minutes, what awaits you is a riveting revenge drama that will touch the chords of your heart. The film soon picks pace, with the flashback sequences providing clarity and helping the audience understand why Harika turned to Haddi.

A super third class movie !!!!!

A highly overrated movie. This movie has got a very loose and messed up storyline. A super third class movie. This doesn't look an Anurag Kashyap movie. The have made a good trailer for the movie promotions. The fact is that the trailer made me watch this movie but as the movie progressed I just couldn't take it anymore. What a stupid and incredulous storyline which doesn't make any sense at all. The only two things appreciable were Nawazuddin's take on the role of a transgender and the makeup of Nawazuddin Siddiqui. They did a splendid job in transforming Nawazuddin into a transgender character. But apart from that the story of the movie is a big thumbs down 👎.

Nawazzudin and his mentor have lost it

Soo sad to write this review it hurts to even write it. Nawazzudin and anurag kashyap , people who encouraged me to be a writer and have more indulgence in movies , seeing them both in this abomination of a movies was heart breaking to say the least. Nawazzudin has completely lost it his earlier movie with that I stagrammer was also an abomination I don't know if he is broke and cannot say no to bad roles but I still can't grasp with the fact that anurag kashyap wasted his acting skills on this such a bad told story , I mean why?? Is it a post 50 year syndrome where people loose there brain function . I mean sorry guys I understand it's all about feeding the family bringing bread on table but it has nothing to do with film making art and I am sure you know it too.

Worst Movie

This movie is undoubtedly a cinematic low point. It relentlessly showcases a disturbing level of violence, glorifying heartless murders and celebrating insanity. Anurag Kashyap, usually known for his unique storytelling, seems to have lost his moral compass by endorsing such content.

The film's unapologetic portrayal of killings is deeply unsettling, and it raises serious concerns about its impact on society. It's not just a disappointment; it's a dangerous contribution to the normalization of violence.

The characters lack depth, and the plot feels forced. The film fails to offer any redeeming qualities or a meaningful message. It's a grim and tasteless descent into darkness.

Furthermore, the excessive violence overshadows any potential artistic merit the movie might have had. The gratuitous scenes of brutality do not serve the narrative; instead, they overshadow it. It's as if the filmmakers prioritized shock value over storytelling.

In terms of direction and screenplay, this movie falls flat. The pacing is uneven, and the storytelling is disjointed. It's challenging to empathize or connect with any of the characters due to their shallow development.

While some argue that cinema should push boundaries and challenge societal norms, this film crosses a line by sensationalizing violence without purpose or reflection. It's important to distinguish between thought-provoking art and mindless brutality, and this movie firmly falls into the latter category.

In conclusion, this movie is a regrettable departure from meaningful storytelling. It lacks moral responsibility, artistic merit, and purposeful narrative. Instead of contributing positively to cinema, it regrettably revels in violence and gore, leaving the audience with a sense of disappointment and concern for the future of the industry...

Pathetic casting

I'm really disappointed with the casting of Zeeshan in this series. His acting feels forced and lacks depth, dragging down the entire show. Every scene he's in feels like a struggle to watch, as he fails to bring authenticity or charisma to his role. The rest of the cast does a decent job, but Zeeshan's performance is so weak it overshadows their efforts. His delivery is flat, and he doesn't connect with the character or the story, making it hard to stay invested. Honestly, I can't tolerate watching him on screen-it's a shame, because the series had potential, but his casting was a huge misstep.

Rest of the casting like Anuraag is bad but can be tolerated.

Dissapointment keeping in mind potential

The film starts off with a confusing plot line, the film does not grip the audience very well, there is very little in the name of masala, nawaz udin sidiqies acting is the only saving grace towards the entire movie, the direction is also poor with haphazard time leaps & confusing fights among the characters. The title of the film also makes no sense till the ending is close by. The villian has a sinister look to him and has no original draw other than that. The film feels like as if hijras where thrown deeply into the mix with no purpose in mind. I was all set for a gory thriller but the film does very little to promote graphic scenes that can be called masala.

Award winning performance by Nawaz undoubtedly

Film talking about female heart in male body and desperately want to show their original identity to world. Many of emotions work in middle of crime drama thriller. Who don't know like me they will saw one mythological stories too. If Kinnar greet someone it's like blessing but if take revange it will be disaster for them.

Director choose different plot with same revenge type of story but Nawaz justify brilliantly with his performance. Some of places Background music marvelous and go with scenes and ghossebum you know well.

Direction good, cinematography good, in short everything quite decent. Others actors performance also good except Anurag Kashyap. Some where in interview he said that he is bad actor and they know well about himself.

I want to give 8 but only for Nawaz performance I will give 9. Maybe some said Nawaz acting is ok yes because when he act actually he live the character and we think it's ok for him.

Great potential, flat delivery

While it's great to see trans representation in Indian cinema, grotesquely violent as it may be, this film didn't quite do it for me. I'm not quite sure that Nawazuddin's superlative acting chops saved the film from its own convoluted ensnarement. I didn't quite get the mystery that shrouded the business that Haddi, our protagonist is a master of. The revelation of the mysterious business adding nothing to the plot except more gore and violence to the already blood-dripping entree that we as the audience is served. As well, Haddi's collaboration with the trans community of Delhi, who help him with their vengeance mission is also lacking. There are no scenes that show them bonding, we get no sense that relationships were built, sympathies were exchanged and a community that's so often oppressed rose to the occasion to take down the notorious and self-serving politicians. All in all, as a typical action-drama, I'd probably rate it higher (6) but in so far as storytelling goes, it fell short.

A Trans Woman's Revenge

The film begins with Harika's childhood, when she is forced to live as a boy because of her gender identity. She is bullied and abused by her classmates and teachers, and her own family rejects her. As she grows up, she becomes a prostitute and a body snatcher, but she never gives up hope of finding a place where she belongs.

When Harika meets Irfan (Ayyub), a kind-hearted NGO worker, she finally feels like she has found a home. However, Irfan is murdered by a group of land-grabbers, and Harika vows to get revenge. She joins a gang of transgender women and cross-dressers, and they set out to take down the land-grabbers.

Haddi is a gritty and violent film, but it is also a powerful story of resilience and hope. Nawazuddin Siddiqui gives a tour-de-force performance as Harika, and the film's supporting cast is also excellent. Verma's direction is assured, and he does a great job of capturing the harsh realities of life for transgender people in India.

Haddi is not a perfect film, but it is an important one. It is a rare film that tells the story of a transgender woman from her own perspective, and it does so with compassion and understanding. The film is a must-watch for anyone who wants to learn more about the transgender community and the challenges they face.

Some other things to keep in mind about the film:

The film's title, Haddi, means "bone" in Hindi. This is a reference to Harika's strength and resilience, as well as the violence that she experiences throughout the film.

The film is set in the murky world of Gurgaon and Noida, two satellite cities of Delhi. These cities are known for their rapid development and their growing inequality, which are both factors that contribute to the marginalization of transgender people.

The film features a diverse cast of transgender actors, including Aqsa Siddiqui, Anjali Lama, and Kalki Koechlin. This is a significant step forward for Indian cinema, which has traditionally been very underrepresented when it comes to transgender representation.

Overall, Haddi is a powerful and important film that is sure to spark conversation and debate. It is a must-watch for anyone who wants to learn more about the transgender community and the challenges they face.

Great film.

A must watch. Anurag's acting just pleased my eyes. Nawaz is superb as always.

Whoever is commenting about story and approach of the film please guys let the director have his own artistic approach.

Buildup is good, you can feel the intensity.

Zeeshan ayub is also good in a short role.

The graphics can be better, cuts can be better.

Directors can dig some more into the story telling.

A good film with the best actors.

Anurag did his job.

Don't listen to the critics just go for the film you will enjoy it surely.

Must watch movies... People who don't praise this movie don't know the real cinema.

First of all I would like to say that this movie will engage you from very start to end. Movie's climax is excellent. In the first half it might take time to understand the story but after 1st half story reveals step by step, people who are saying that nothing new in this movie. I will say to those haters that one can never direct this movie better than this director. This director has all the abilities to show the simple story on screens with lot of suspense, twist and turns, dark scenes. Nawazuddin acting is not a cup of tea of every actor. Song "beparda" is the heart of movie. "PAISA WASOOL"

Embracing Shadows: A Gritty Tale of Identity and Secrets

Streaming now on Zee5, "Haddi" unveils a seldom-told tale of a transgender woman, brought to life with unmatched prowess by the magnetic Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Directed by the visionary Akshat Ajay Sharma and penned by Adamya Bhalla and Sharma himself, this cinematic gem delves deep into a world shrouded in mystery, set against the contrasting backdrops of Gurgaon and Noida.

Siddiqui's portrayal of Haddi, or Harika, is a masterclass in acting. With nuanced body language and a captivating screen presence, he paints a vivid picture of a character torn between rage and vulnerability. The delicate balance in his performance, never overstepping or understating, deserves applause.

While the film's initial sequences are intense, providing a raw glimpse into an uncharted territory, it truly shines when it compassionately showcases the life of its protagonist from her unique perspective. Supporting Siddiqui, the ensemble cast, including luminaries like Anurag Kashyap, Ila Arun, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, add layers to the narrative, making the story resonate even more.

However, as engrossing as the narrative is, one can't help but feel that a talent like Siddiqui's deserved an even more profound script. His portrayal is the film's crowning glory, and fans of the actor will surely be in for a treat.

In conclusion, "Haddi" is more than just a film; it's an exploration of identity, society's shadows, and the power of self-realization. It beckons viewers to not just watch but to truly see and understand.
