I got to see this little masterpiece quite spontaneously while surfing through the lists of korean bl.
For some time now I felt deep disappointment in movies which are produced about boys love. Imo all of them seems full of well-known cliches or have an artificially tight atmosphere brought upon two main characters.
This short, low-budget movie literally saved my lethargic mood that day.
Story unfolds about two classmates couple (school sweethearts) which decided to celebrate their anniversary by traveling to the sea shore and spending all day there. But as you may imagine nothing as dawn followed was hearts and kisses between them. The author of the movie (who only shots short movies at 30 min. Length) tells us in which way the couple tried to escape or rather fix the fiasco of the anniversary.
Characters played by Kim Dong-hwi and Kim Shin-bi depicted so different yet so close lovers whom are getting immersed in first relationship's crisis and try to be each other guardians.
Dong Hwi's character is more vigour and longs for openness, Kim Shin-bi's character is more self-minded and nervous.
Sounds like I'm comparing squares to triangles, heh?
Thing which amazed me more in their relationship is the mutual cognisance. Both of them are so young and immature at the first sight but their level of cognisance that they tried to maintain through the story should be appreciated. I guess exactly this particular detail made me instantly fall for this movie.
For me their acting seemed natural like something that was coming right from the heart so props for both actors and lovely atmosphere they brought.
I give this movie 10\10.
But not for length. It must be LONGER! Good things deserve loud shout-out!
If you are in search of non-cliche storyline and superb acting, this is your signal to go and watch it right now!
