Yellowstone‘s Rip Wheeler is making some big bucks. The stocky ranch hand-turned-family member, played by Cole Hauser, quickly rose to fame in Taylor Sheridan’s Western show. After nearly three decades of pursuing an acting career, Hauser’s odds began getting bigger and better with this lead role. And he is currently looking to become one of the highest-paid TV actors.
While Hauser’s recent money and fame may come from Yellowstone, it should be noted that Hauser comes from a family of show business. And he is best friends with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. So, how much did Hauser earn from his last 30 years in the industry?

Born of Osiris have announced their first new album in four years, Through Shadows, out July 11th via Sumerian Records.
The metalcore act also served up the title track and latest single, a five-minute prog workout bolstered by electro rhythms and pinpoint musical precision. The band’s brutality is completely mechanized here, the various instrumentation locked tightly in place, while vocalist Ronnie Canizaro’s gutturals emerge as the most tangibly organic element in the mix.

“‘Through Shadows’ is a reflection of the human experience — both the quiet struggles and the heavy storms we each endure,” the band stated in a press release. “It’s about confronting the darkness with the understanding that without shadow, there is no light to shine through. Exclusive: Screenwriter J S Mayank has been tapped by producers Kate Cohen, Alexander Vesely and Tony Robbins to join Oscar nominee and Bafta winner Lesley Paterson (All Quiet on the Western Front) in writing the feature adaptation of Viktor Frankl‘s classic treatise, Man’s Search for Meaning.
Paterson had been writing the script with her husband and writing partner Simon Marshall, as was reported in Deadline a year ago. At the time, Marshall had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Marshall died last June.
After taking some time to regroup and grieve, the filmmaking team undertook a search for someone to team up with Paterson.
“Finding a writing partner who could understand and support me on this journey while at the same time servicing this masterpiece felt like an impossible ask,” says Paterson. “J S has stepped into this role seamlessly and I’m so honored and relieved to have teamed up with him.

After the notorious Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial, it almost seemed for a while that Depp’s Hollywood downfall was all because of Heard and her allegations. The explosive 2022 trial thus left fans divided—some rallied behind him, while others called him problematic. But here’s the thing—Depp’s career struggles didn’t start with the courtroom drama.

Yep! Johnny Depp reportedly spent $3 million firing Hunter S. Thompson’s ashes from a cannon. Because that’s exactly what the gonzo journalist wanted.
“All I’m doing is trying to make sure his last wish comes true,” Depp once said (via The Guardian). “I just want to send my pal out the way he wants to go out.”
Thompson, the legendary writer behind Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, had made it clear before his death in 2005: he wanted his ashes blasted into the sky in a grand, fiery send-off. Depp, who played Thompson in the 1998 film adaptation of the same name, made sure it happened.

Elon Musk has time for cameos, at least when it suits him. The Tesla CEO and X enthusiast (now a chain-saw-wielding Doge employee) has cultivated a pop culture presence quite fitting of his relentless quest for influence, especially over our eyeballs and immediate senses. There is no telling what the man will do next.

Now, Variety has broken the news that Rebecca Hall of Godzilla x Kong: New Empire has also joined the cast.
Filming on The Beauty is already underway. FX has given the show an 11 episode order. While the series is based on the Image Comics series of the same name by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. So for now, we can only go by the description of the comic book series to get an idea of what the show is going to be like: Modern society is obsessed with outward beauty.

After the success of Cillian Murphy's 2024 movie, Small Things Like These, the Irish actor has maintained his incredible Rotten Tomatoes streak, and thus, has raised the bar for his upcoming franchise returns. Murphy has been in the acting business for a long time, getting his breakout in 2001's Disco Pigs. However, in recent years, Murphy has been recognized for his incredible work on projects like Peaky Blinders and Christopher Nolan's box office record breaker, Oppenheimer. Now, Murphy is continuing his streak of success, and setting high expectations, with his most recent release.
Small Things Like These is a historical drama movie based on a book of the same name by Claire Keegan. The movie stars Murphy as Bill Furlong, a respected coal merchant who enters a conflict with the powerful nuns in his small town as he discovers a young pregnant woman being kept in a coal shed.

Not many billionaires are like Elon Musk, except maybe Tony Stark/Iron Man, but then he’s fictional. The multi-billionaire has often drawn comparisons with the popular Marvel character for a long time and has even attempted to cosplay him in real life a few times. Fyi, he even had a brief cameo on ‘Iron Man 2.’
Now the man who played the iconic Iron Man character has some few words for him that anyone can easily interpret as “grow up.”
Robert Downey Jr. Expresses Disappointment Over Elon Musk’s Behavior
Maybe this isn’t even a political thing – Elon Musk has made it clear he’s mightily team Republican – but Robert Downey Jr. isn’t amused by Musk’s eccentric billionaire behavior anymore.
These days, any little time you find Musk not being political or trying to be funny, you’ll find him promoting his ultra-futuristic brands Tesla and SpaceX.

Morgan Freeman is surely one of the most recognizable actors working today — and work he does. While the man has an Oscar to his name and several truly memorable roles in his filmography, that filmography is ... extensive. Freeman churns out movies at about the same rate as, shall we say, Samuel L. Jackson or John Travolta, often lending his significant talent to projects other stars of his caliber wouldn't even consider.
That's not to knock the now 87-year-old, either. Often Freeman elevates these lesser titles simply by being a part of them. But there are a few movies that even the great Morgan Freeman can't save. Yes, for every "Million Dollar Baby" or "Shawshank Redemption" there's a truly bewildering stinker in the Freeman oeuvre that simply couldn't be rescued by the man's gravitas. 2014's "Transcendence," for instance, currently sports a shameful 19% on Rotten Tomatoes, while the "Has Fallen" trilogy can't...

The horror genre has extensively covered the topic of resurrecting loved ones and then learning that you have to let go so that the dead can rest in peace and the living can move forward in life. And with advancements in technology, storytellers in the sci-fi genre also started imagining what it’d be like if we start holding on to our loved ones long after they are gone. Black Mirror’s San Junipero and Be Right Back continue to be two of the most memorable takes on this concept as they talked about mortality and whether or not technology will ever be able to replicate something as fleeting as love and youth. An episode of Extrapolations, titled 2068: The Going Away Party, used cloud-based storage space that doubled as a “heavenly abode” to comment on classism during dystopian times. Movies like Transcendence and Replicas talked about the pitfalls of...

The Maze Runner series will return with a reboot nearly 10 years after the first installment of the trilogy first launched. 20th Century Studios will adapt James Dashner's series, with original director Wes Ball attached to the project.
The Maze Runner series includes three books, the first one being published in 2009. The series follows Thomas, who wakes up in a lift with no memory except his own name. He realizes he is trapped in a maze with a group of other boys, but everything changes as the first girl ever arrives in the maze. The trilogy starred Dylan O'Brien in the lead role, as well as Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Ki Hong Lee, and Will Poulter. The first film premiered in 2014, with Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials following in 2015, and Maze Runner: The Death Cure in 2018.

Back in 2009, James Dashner released The Maze Runner, the first of what was to become a series of novels consisting of a main trilogy, two prequel novels, and a planned sequel trilogy, as well as a companion volume. The story is a dystopian narrative that focuses on a group of children who have to survive the Maze, but ultimately discover that the world they are in is in ruins and that there is a dark secret behind everything. The series was picked up for a live-action adaptation in 2011, and the first movie was released in 2014. Two additional movies were released, with The Death Cure ending the trilogy in 2018.
But, while it’s been just six years since the final movie of the original trilogy, The Hollywood Reporter revealed an exclusive scoop that 20th Century Studios is working on a reboot of The Maze Runner film series, although details are still very scarce.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed the Disney’s 20th Century Studios is working on a reboot with Transcendence writer Jack Paglen in negotiations to write the script.
The original franchise followed “a group of teens who find themselves arriving in a walled setting named the Glade with their memories wiped out. Beyond the four walls of the encampment lies a maze, filled with deadly mechanical creatures and doors that shut every night at sundown. One new arrival figures out the key to the groups’ survival and attempts to lead them out.”

According to THR, 20th Century Studios is looking to reboot The Maze Runner franchise based on the best-selling novels by James Dashner. The studio is currently in negotiations with Jack Paglen (Transcendence) to write the script for the new film.
The Maze Runner was released in 2014 and followed a group of memory-wiped teenagers who are trapped in a walled area known as the Glade. The only way out lies beyond an ever-changing maze, which is filled with deadly mechanical creatures. The film was followed by Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials in 2015 and Maze Runner: The Death Cure in 2018.
Before you start getting up in arms over 20th Century Studios rebooting a franchise which wrapped up less than a decade ago, sources say that this project won’t be a redo of the original story or a direct sequel. Instead, the producers hope to make it a “continuation of the story...

20th Century Studios is rebooting The Maze Runner franchise with a new adaptation in the works. The movie is being described as a "sort of continuation" of the original trilogy with previous director Wes Ball onboard as a producer. Transcendence scribe Jack Paglen is in talks to write the script for the reboot.
Nearly 10 years after the previous adaptation trilogy first launched, 20th Century Studios is developing a reboot of The Maze Runner franchise. James Dashner's dystopian YA novels first made their way to the screen with the 2014 movie of the same name, led by Dylan O'Brien as a teenage boy who wakes up with no memory inside a grass area known as the Glave, following him as he works with the others there to escape the vast maze surrounding them and learn who is behind their imprisonment. Though garnering mixed reviews from critics, the trilogy was generally a financial hit,...

Exclusive: Producer Kate Cohen (Jane Got a Gun) has tapped Oscar nominee Lesley Paterson (All Quiet on the Western Front) and Simon Marshall to script a feature adaptation of Viktor Frankl’s classic treatise, Man’s Search for Meaning. For Paterson’s husband and writing partner, Marshall, the project has taken on particular resonance of late, having just been diagnosed with late-stage pancreatic cancer.
Translated into 50 languages, with over 16 million copies sold, Frankl’s riveting account of his time in the Nazi concentration camps, and his exploration of the human will to find meaning in spite of unspeakable adversity, has offered solace and guidance to generations of readers since it was first published in 1946. Back in 2019, “Iron Man 3” production executive Chris Fenton filed an explosive lawsuit against former employer Dmg Entertainment, a once-highflying company that bridged Hollywood movies and Chinese distribution.
After a legal back and forth that included a Dmg countersuit that was later tossed, Fenton’s case is finally headed to trial next week and is expected to expose some of the opaque ways China did business in Hollywood before tensions between the U.S. and the communist superpower boiled over in 2021, leading studios to reassess their plans for the market. On Oct. 23, Fenton v. Dmg is scheduled to begin in California Superior Court, with Robert Downey Jr. and tentpole producer Neal Moritz expected to be on the witness list.
Although Fenton, a former William Morris agent who worked at Dmg for 17 years, is a respected member of the Hollywood community with a Washington, D.C., presence as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations,...

Summer isn’t over yet but HBO and its streaming arm Max are already moving on to fall. With its list of new releases for August 2023, Max is focusing on football! The American kind, mind you, not the actually footy kind.
August 2023 sees the release of two major football documentaries on HBO and Max. The first is the premiere of Hard Knocks on Aug. 10. The new season of long-running NFL training camp docuseries will center on the New York Jets, new employers of legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers. On Aug. 23, Max will air the aptly named Bs High. The doc tells the stranger-than-fiction story of high school football team Bishop Sycamore, which pulled off one of the more notable sports scams you’re likely to ever hear about.
Not of the football variety but in keeping with the North American sports theme will be season 2 of Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty on Aug.

Cillian Murphy is definitely gaining some attention as the release of Oppenheimer takes the world by storm. Aside from his leading role in the new biopic, he's no stranger to Christopher Nolan movies, often being a bit of an underdog in these storylines. But Murphy's most underrated performance has nothing to do with Nolan.
When one thinks of post-apocalyptic horror, they probably think of shows like The Walking Dead or movies like I Am Legend and World War Z. But one of the most beloved post-apocalyptic horror movies is a low-budget British gem called 28 Days Later. The movie was pretty successful, despite its questionable quality and gruesome imagery. Today, it's rated highly among fans and critics, and 20 years later, 28 Days Later stands strong in the horror movie world. But many people don't realize it was also a big break for Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy.

Artificial intelligence presents unfathomable technological advancement, as machines and computer systems learn to simulate human intelligence. While its growth and capabilities are awe-inspiring, its potential can also be incredibly scary. Humans vs. AI movies have shown fans that bringing sentience to artificial intelligence doesn't always end well.
Humanity often faces fantastical and supernatural threats in film, but there are some great movies out there that pit humanity against artificial intelligence in either a huge-scale war or in intimate confrontations. Great movies like Avengers: Age of Ultron and I, Robot show audiences just how terrifying this fallout could be.

Apple TV+ is now reviving the sci-fi genre with its well-made TV shows after the downfall of smart science fiction in movies, but the streamer must make a few more provisions to keep this ball rolling. Other than offering entertainment and escapism, science fiction is one genre that can often give viewers a peak into the future or at least a vision of all the possibilities lying ahead. For instance, Back to the Future's depiction of flying cars may have been over the top. However, its portrayal of drones, mobile-aided payment, biometrics devices, and many other future technologies is right on the money.
When science fiction movies and TV shows are not foreseeing what's ahead, they use their dystopian settings to reflect the present day's contemporary issues, concerns, and phobias. For instance, a Black Mirror season 6 episode spins a true-crime yarn in its sci-fi narrative and subtly critiques the streaming era.

Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy have made a number of movies together, all of them hits with both critics and audiences, though only one of them ranks as the best. While Murphy served in supporting roles for Nolan in their first five collaborations, he will take the lead in Oppenheimer, their sixth movie together as actor and director. Cast in the title role of J. Robert Oppenheimer, Murphy plays the father of the atomic bomb in Nolan’s biographical drama set during World War II. With Murphy appearing in half of Nolan's 12 features as of the release of Oppenheimer, he's the filmmaker's second most regular acting collaborator, after Michael Caine.

Movies like Ex Machina appeal equally to fans of science fiction and horror. The film's blend of thought-provoking concepts and intense drama is certainly a cocktail that many genre movies have attempted to make before but few have succeeded quite as well. Garland went on to direct an even more ambitious and accomplished science-fiction film, Annihilation, and the more intensely horrific film Men, however the best movies like Ex Machina are the ones that capture that same concentrated burst of high-concept ideas within the framework of an intimate thriller.
Sci-fi horror, though highly entertaining when it's done right, isn't the easiest subgenre to navigate without a guide. There are a number of interesting and popular science fiction movies that revolve around rogue AI, for example. These range from classic science fiction movies like Westworld to films with a more directly comedic angle like M3GAN. However, to find movies that are truly similar to Ex Machina,...

New images have resurfaced for the anticipated drama from Christopher Nolan that tells the story of the inventor of the atomic bomb. The film, Oppenheimer, is Nolan’s follow-up feature after the mixed reception of his high-concept sci-fi 2020’s Tenet. This will also be Nolan’s first film since leaving Warner Bros. over his displeasure with their temporary business model of releasing films simultaneously through theatrical and streaming venues.
Total Film has exclusive new images from Oppenheimer that have recently been revealed. These pictures showcase Cillian Murphy in his role as the titular character, J. Robert Oppenheimer. We also get a peek at his fellow cast members, Emily Blunt and Robert Downey Jr, as well as behind-the-scenes photos with Nolan directing. The rest of the cast includes actors such as Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, and Gary Oldman.

With Overwatch's array of heroes, play maps, and game modes, every character varies in effectiveness (depending on the match). While most heroes are given a well-balanced package of weapons and basic abilities, it's their "ultimate abilities" that often impact games the most.
However, not all of them are equal. While some offer immense value that can single-handedly turn a game when used correctly, others have proven to be too weak or difficult to use effectively and are in dire need of re-tuning.

Balancing the forces of harmony and discord, the omnic warrior monk Zenyatta brings a truly deadly blend of healing and hitting power to players’ teams in Overwatch 2. Wielding mysterious, hand-crafted orbs that allow him to do incredible amounts of damage and healing, Zenyatta is one of the most damage-oriented heroes in Overwatch 2’s hero roster, with a damage output that can even outpace some Damage heroes. As such, he’s an excellent choice for players looking to do damage and heal in equal measure and an ideal fit for certain 5v5 team compositions in Overwatch 2 that aim to go on the offensive and bring the fight straight to the enemy team.

‘[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Westworld Season 4 Episode 7, “Metanoia.”] At this point, it’s looking like Westworld’s Season 4 finale is going to be an Ed Harris bottle episode. Okay, that’s an exaggeration. But it’s not an exaggeration to say that “Metanoia” isn’t light on major character deaths. It’s unclear how many of these violent ends will stick, or if they’re even real, or when ‘now’ is. Moving at breakneck speed, the episode offers further answers about Christina (Evan Rachel Wood), gives Caleb (Aaron Paul) a key character moment and answers the question of what Transcendence is. It also sets up The Host in Black for a huge role in the finale. Here’s how it happens. HBO The episode opens with one of Bernard’s (Jeffrey Wright) simulated futures, in which he and Maeve (Thandiwe Newton) go to the Hoover Dam—which is actually the Sublime, since that’s...

And just like that, winter has come again. HBO Max’s list of new releases for August 2022 is highlighted by the return of the king. Or more accurately: the return of the queen … of the Seven Kingdoms.
Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is set to premiere on HBO and HBO Max on Aug. 21, just over three years after Game of Thrones concluded in controversial fashion with “The Iron Throne.” This new series is a prequel, depicting the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons from George R.R. Martin’s lore. When dragon fights dragon, the realm will be torn asunder. But the viewer will certainly delight in all the Targaryen action.

It’s been 13 years since the Galactica reached Earth. We watched in the 2009 finale “Daybreak” as Admiral Adama, President Roslin, Apollo, Starbuck, Gaius Baltar, and Caprica Six walked towards a bright and unwritten future in their new home. It was a cathartic (but predictably divisive) ending to a six-year TV journey that remains one of the best and most influential in science fiction history. There’s no question that Battlestar Galactica paved the way for other serious, gritty political sci-fi dramas like The Expanse and the recently released Foundation adaptation.
But Battlestar Galactica‘s legacy is one thing. What about its future? That’s a question NBCUniversal has struggled to answer in the years since our heroes first touched down on our planet. There were multiple attempts at spin-offs directly after the flagship series finale on the Syfy channel, including two prequels — Caprica, which told the story of Bill Adama...
