A short and different storyline after a long time

1. This is a movie with a different story (flavour). Though it is a slightly short movie but it will kept u sitting till the last minute. Movie is slightly slow in the mid phase but kept generating curiosity among the audience.

2. Mind reading is entirely a different concept in itself. Sheba has done a wonderful work to showcase this thing in a movie. Though it was a first movie as director and actress. She has done remarkably well. Other actors are also acted pretty well.

3. Shishir has a small role but he did justice again to his role. I think Team Kazi deserved accolades for showcasing the such a concept with great storyline. A must watch movie at this time where other Directors are focusing more on action ....that too without story. This movie is a ray of hope to watch something different.

Slow Burn Mystery Drama

The Kaziman Rai Bahadur, a mysterious personality, takes you on a ride though the highs and lows of his life. In this slow burn mystery drama, which will keep you at the end of your wits, Kazi is not the only character that keeps on tugging you along. In the second half of the movie, the suspense has already reached a crescendo, and it becomes unbearable with so many unanswered questions. You start making your own theories about the characters surrounding the protagonist, to find yourself, losing to the imagination of the writer.

Sheba Ghosh has done an amazing job as a writer and director. Since the movie opened with a school sequence, and the protagonist seemed to have some special powers, one thinks of equating it with Matilda, but then as the story jumps to the unfortunate incident of a murder and miscarriage, the viewers may start thinking of Drishyam.

The movie is like Secret Life of Walter Mitty, if Walter Mitty was kept in a medical institution for clinically insane instead of his monotonous job.

Intense and Thought Provoking

"KAZI" is a cinematic masterpiece that leaves an indelible mark on the soul. Released just yesterday on the open theatre, this film transcends the boundaries of conventional storytelling, diving deep into the intricacies of the human experience. It's a gripping journey that resonates long after the credits roll.

The movie's intensity is unparalleled, immersing the audience in a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish. Each scene is meticulously crafted, drawing viewers into a world where the line between reality and fiction blurs beautifully. The narrative is both thought-provoking and riveting, challenging societal norms and prompting introspection.

One of the most striking elements of "KAZI" is its ability to provoke thought. It's not just a film; it's a catalyst for discussions on life, morality, and the complexities of human relationships. The characters are multifaceted, and portrayed with depth and nuance, making their struggles and triumphs profoundly relatable.

The direction is nothing short of brilliant, seamlessly weaving together various elements, be it cinematography, sound design, or the performances-to create an immersive experience. The visual aesthetics are breathtaking, enhancing the overall impact of the storyline.

Moreover, the performances are stellar, with each actor delivering a tour de force portrayal. Their raw emotions and authenticity pull at the heartstrings, leaving an indelible impression on the audience.

"KAZI" is not just a movie; it's an experience that lingers in your mind, urging you to contemplate its profound themes. It challenges perspectives, ignites conversations, and showcases the power of cinema in its purest form.

In essence, "KAZI" is a tour de force that deserves every accolade it receives. It's a testament to the artistry and depth that cinema can achieve-an intense, thought-provoking masterpiece that demands to be seen and felt.

Not sure what the other reviewers saw

I feel compelled to pen a review because the overwhelmingly positive reviews are bizarre.

This movie starts off with a decent premise and plot, but the acting is extremely poor. Maybe its because hindi is not their native tongue, or maybe its something else, but it feels extremely unnatural and weird.

The main actor (Biswas Timshina) is seen multiple times giving an outburst to cover up bad acting. The main actress is much better, but given he is in almost every frame, it makes it close to unbearable.

The plot itself starts off well, but as with many Indian movies, they don't know how to finish, and it gets worse and worse as it progresses. By the end of it, it is borderline nonsensical.

A worthy attempt, if this was a student film, but that's about it.

Critically Acclaimed

A very Good phycological thriller, keep it up Sheba, egar to see what next. Poster design is very eye catchy, your dop is brilliant 👏, your part of acting is brilliant, and overall project is good. In my point of view It is a critically acclaimed film. I like kazi's journey throughout the film, it is character driven story not plot driven but before seeing your film I think it is a plot driven story, and your film ending is little bit poetic, as a debut filmmaker it is a very good attempt. And last thing is your editor is brilliant, because to create some mysterious moments through editing is outstanding.

Thriller and Suspense

This movie is full of thriller and suspense, the way the writer has written the script, it is a broad movie genre which creates excitement and suspense in the audience. Horror scenes can be seen at some places in the movie but I think the movie Every scene shown in it is like filling the ocean in a pitcher, which is the mark of a great director. There is no actor in the film whose place can be taken by anyone else. All the characters have performed excellently. This film should be released across Indian theatres GREAT

Must watch ....to know the hidden mysterious of people whom surrounded by ..

GREAT DIRECTION

This film is excellently written and its execution is even better. It gets you hooked on the story from the word go. The performances of all the actors are strong and impressive. The cinematography of the film is divine and some shots are really captivating. The concept of the film in itself is unique, complicated and complex. And to show it in the manner in which it has been shown deserves commendation. For me, the strength of the film lies in its direction. To make an indie film on such an issue is a marvellous effort which deserves to be recognised. I only wish the movie could have been a little longer as by the end, it made me feel wanting for more. Kudos to the entire team for creating this production. Really well done!

Battle of mind reader and dream watcher

Brilliant story and fine characterization by Sheba Ghosh. Kazi is too good an attempt for a first time filmmaker who acted in it too. A must watch thriller that lingers in your mind.

What I liked the most about the film is the battle between the the mind reader and the dream watcher. It's quite interesting the way they battle it out for Roma who knows Kazi but not the secret behind the power. The character played by Shishir Sharma has a strong impact on the film. The film keeps you thinking throughout. Every sequence that seems just out of a fantasy film is explained well with a logic at the end. Bravo!

A special film that you must watch

At the outset let me make it clear that Kazi is neither one of those contrived mainstream thrillers nor is it your textbook arthouse film.

Sheba Ghosh debuting as a director and donning multiple hats (including a nice understated performance) has come up with a mind boggling psychological thriller.

The movie would definitely come across as a slow burner but your patience is surely going to be rewarded towards the end.

I don't want to reveal too many details and spoilers because I think Kazi is something you have to watch and experience.

Kudos to the entire team for having delivered such a unique feature and special credit to Sheba for a fantastic debut.

PS: I loved the bgm apart from a set of other things like the relatable dialogues, the characterisation and the unpredictability in the screenplay.

"Journey Through Consciousness"

'Kazi- Embrace the Chaos,' delves into the enigmatic realms of the mind with a narrative centered around a mind reader and a dream watcher. This cinematic masterpiece offers audiences a unique blend of intrigue and introspection, weaving together the intricate threads of human consciousness with the precision of a seasoned storyteller. Inceptionised greedily into the dreams of Kazi, Vijay did justifiably salived the promise of being with Roma. Unveiled realities challenge the storytelling capabilities of the so called bollywood big houses as the simplicity in the complexity outrun almost all the suspense -drama-horror section of the movies available in Indian film businesses.

Kudos to the team and thanks for awarding the viewers with opportunity to watch something worth watching and awestruck remembrances.

Mindscape chronicles unveiled through Kazi

One rare movie of a kind which has been able to depict so much detail in s short run-time, it feels as if you're reading a book rather than watching visuals. No time is wasted in building the background of the characters as it is swiftly brought out through relatable incidents. As soon as you empathise with the main characters, before you know it, you are now under a spell with the a rollercoaster of suspense that takes you on an exhilarating ride through the labyrinth of the human mind.

The standout feature is undoubtedly the unique storyline of a mind reader and a dream watcher that would bind you in the psychological struggles unfolding on screen. Apart from the relatable dialogues and subtle acting by all actors, the direction and cinematography are on-point taking you back and forth each event. I specifically appreciate the fantastic music that adds to the emotion on screen. A delight to enjoy this movie, presented in such affordable means.

On the whole, the director, in a remarkable debut, showcases a mind-bending display of the psychological thriller genre. The pacing is masterfully controlled, allowing tension to build gradually while keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. The movie ends in a way that is quite open ended and made me think of it for days ahead.

Mind Boggling

A gripping story written and directed by a debutant. The story opens with a leading plot which builds up the initial suspense. The suspense never dies there after. For some time near the midway the young director/writer struggles to keep the audience intact, but it is compensated by consistent fine acting by all the actors. The back ground music has been apt for the story and only aided to the story line. The lighting and DOP team displayed a fantastic job and it never appeared to be a debutant's project for the entire project. For the given budget, sheba has been able to manage the resources well. There is no fancy location location or unwanted stunt still the requisite thrill has been achieved. Must watch for any aspiring person in this field.
