Vincent Cassel, who voices newcomer Victor Chevalier, was a fan of the Tekken series before being cast in the role, stating that he enjoyed the character Eddie Gordo due to his Capoeira-based fighting style, which Cassel himself practices.
The first game in the Tekken series to not feature series mainstay Heihachi Mishima after his death at the end of Tekken 7's "The Mishima Saga" story mode. (EDIT: This information is now inaccurate as Heihachi was added as the third DLC character alongside the free DLC episode Unforgotten Echoes, where it was revealed that he survived the finale of TK7's story, on October 1st, 2024.)
