Last year, Umbrella Entertainment gave the 1985 creature feature Ghoulies (watch it Here) a Blu-ray release in Australia that contained three different cults of the movie, and also packaged it with its first sequel. Now Mvd Rewind Collection has announced that they’re giving Ghoulies a special edition release as well – and this one is going to be Blu-ray and 4K Uhd! The street date is September 12.

Directed by Luca Bercovici from a script he wrote with Jefery Levy, the first Ghoulies has the following synopsis: As a child, Jonathan (Peter Liapis) was almost killed by his father, Malcolm (Michael Des Barres), during a satanic ritual. After being saved and raised by Wolfgang (Jack Nance), who has kept him unaware of his background, Jonathan inherits Malcolm’s house and moves in with girlfriend Rebecca (Lisa Pelikan). Through his explorations of the house, he begins unlocking the secrets and latent powers contained within his new found home.

All For One and One For All are without question the two strongest Quirks shown thus far in My Hero Academia. Close behind is the Overhaul Quirk, wielded by the former young boss of the Shie Hassaikai, Kai Chisaki, who served as a primary antagonist in Season 4 of the anime.

Allowing its user to dissemble and reassemble matter into whatever form they desire, Overhaul has incredibly versatile capabilities for both destruction and healing. So why didn’t All For One, someone who has struggled with the condition of his broken body for most of My Hero Academia, ever try to take Overhaul for himself? He undeniably recognized Chisaki during his escape from Tartarus, so it only seemed logical that he would try to take the Quirk during the raid -- or even long before.

In recent days, YouTube has been provocatively teasing and lowering expectations around its annual Rewind video -- a compendium of the year’s biggest viral moments and platform-wide trends, which typically arrives in the form of an original production set to buzzy music tracks.

But after last year’s disastrous Rewind video became the most-disliked video in the platform's history -- amid complaints that the company avoided controversial moments and steered clear of newsworthy creators in favor of a squeaky-clean, brand-safe approach -- YouTube took a decidedly different tract this time around. Rather than a narrative video, in which top creators were culled together to appear in different highly-produced scenes, this year’s Rewind -- subtitled For The Record -- is composed almost entirely of data-driven lists.

While this lends a slightly stale feeling to this year's video, it is an efficient approach that abdicates YouTube of being held accountable...

As YouTube seemingly becomes more massive every year, birthing new stars and ever-fragmented communities that are harder to collectively encapsulate, it’s not going to stop the world’s largest video platform from trying to sum it all up.

And as 2019 comes to a close -- ahead of the platform’s wildly polarizing Rewind compilation (rolling out later today), YouTube has shared several lists comprising the top videos of the year, which will be included in this year's anthology.

Personally, I like what I’m seeing!

The Twilight Zone is one of the greatest shows ever created, and while this revival won’t be as good as the original, it still looks like a solid series that will entertain and tell some interesting stories. I’m curious to see how this turns out.

CBS All Access has just dropped the first full trailer for Jordan Peele’s highly anticipated revival of The Twilight Zone. This gives us our first real look at the stories that will be told in the first season. It actually looks like it’s going to be pretty good!

As you’ll see, they’ve made some pretty significant changes to some of the original episodes that are being remade. There are also a few little Easter eggs to keep a look our for as you watch the trailer because there are some things that you’ll recognize.

Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley) is headed to The Twilight Zone. The actor is set to star in one of the episodes that Jordan Peele is developing with writer Alex Rubens.

There are no details on what the episode will entail, but I like Nanjiani and it’ll be interesting to see what episode he’ll end up starring in. He will join Adam Scott, who was cast in the remake of the classic episode “Nightmare At 30,000 Feet”.

As far as the other episodes of the series goes, we know that they are also developing remakes of “Nick of Time” and “Rewind”. I hope that the series isn’t just remakes of classic episodes! I hope that they throw some original stories in the series as well.

Showtime CEO David Nevins is taking on a larger role within parent company CBS Corp, as the company has named him chief creative officer.

As part of the new role, adds oversight of CBS Entertainment, CBS TV Studios and the company’s stake in The CW, which is a joint venture with Warner Bros. He will also work with CBS Interactive on programming for CBS All Access, the company’s subscription streaming service that was launched 2014.

Additionally, Nevins will add chairman of Showtime to his existing CEO duties. He’ll also bring along a familiar face with him: In a separate announcement, CBS named Showtime’s CFO Christina Spade to the same role with CBS Corp.

The waiting will soon be over for fans of Syfy's Alphas TV series. At the TCA Winter Press Tour, BermanBraun co-founder Gail Berman told The Futon Critic that they expect to hear if Alphas has been cancelled or renewed this week.

The show completed its second season in October and averaged 1.3 million viewers. That's down by 30% when compared to the first season (1.85 million).

A decision is also expected on the fate of Rewind, their Syfy pilot about "a team of military field operatives and civilian scientists who must use untested technology to travel back in time to alter events and change the future."

BermanBraun produces Alphas, NBC's Deception, and the recently announced Camp. The company was founded in 2007 by Berman and former ABC Entertainment chairman Lloyd Braun.

Most recently we told you about casting Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider), Jennifer Ferrin (The Cape), Keon Mohajeri, and Robbie Jones (Hellcats), joining star Shane McRae. Now, Syfy has issued a press release about not only the casting that we already know, but also a particularly great guest star: Jeff Fahey, also known as Lost fans’ favorite pilot Frank Lapidus.

He’ll be playing Ellis, a former Nasa aerospace engineer and now part of the time travel team around whom the show revolves. He is the spiritual backbone of the team; strong with a Zen-like wisdom and intensely loyal to team leader Bryce (McRae).

David Cronenberg certainly hasn't been lacking in things to do. The director has been in the midst of preparing/releasing back-to-back films: last year's underrated drama "A Dangerous Method" and the forthcoming "Cosmopolis," which will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in a matter of weeks. Earlier today, reported on the news that Syfy would be adapting Stephen King’s The Eyes of the Dragon. Syfy has officially announced that project as part of their new development slate, which includes 28 new scripted and reality projects:

Syfy is having its Upfront tonight, during which they present their schedule and slate of projects in development to potential advertisers, and the announcements are flowing. An adaptation of a Stephen King novel into a miniseries, a new Charlaine Harris weekly series, a great movie being adapted into a weekly series, and a whole load of new reality shows may be in our future. Where to begin? We’ll break this down into manageable bites, but have included the entire press release below for your study.

First up, new series! We’ve already told you about some of these, but now we’re getting official word. For scripted series, Syfy is now confirming that Defiance, the series that will affect and be affected by the game of the same name, will be coming in 2013.

All other new series on or soon to be on the schedule are unscripted/reality shows – eight of em!

So what's next for the channel that has given us plenty of things that have gone bump in the night along with more CG monsters than anyone could possibly keep up with? Read on for details of Syfy's "upfront" presentation.

It’s always encouraging when more cast members are signed up for a pilot. We already felt pretty solid about Syfy’s Rewind because of Syfy‘s press release about it last month, but still, it never hurts to see that more positive steps are taken in production.

Deadline has broken the news that Oscar-nominated actor Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider), Jennifer Ferrin (The Cape), Keon Mohajeri, and Robbie Jones (Hellcats) have now been added to the cast of the two-hour pilot, joining Shane McRae who had been announced in last month’s press release. Lost director Jack Bender's new Syfy pilot Rewind has cast four lead roles. Bender will helm the project, written by Justin Marks (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li). Castle-Hughes, repped by Industry Entertainment, will play Priya, the team’s a-typical historian, a behavioral anthropologist who provides analytical context to the project and the missions, and whose knowledge of history extends beyond the boundaries of facts. Ferrin, repped by Gersh and Tmt Entertainment, will play Bryce, a brilliant scientist who graduated MIT when she was 18; the smartest person in the room who is obsessive and driven and doesn’t really care what people think of her.

Syfy's time-traveling pilot "Rewind" is getting a little star power now that Keisha Castle-Hughes has signed on. Castle-Hughes, probably best known as the 12-year-old star of the 2002 film "Whale Rider," will play Priya, an historian on a military team that travels back in time to change past events in an effort to avoid a future terrorist attack. Cast with Castle-Hughes are Jennifer Ferrin, Robbie Jones and Keon Mohajeri. Ferrin, who played Dana Faraday in NBC's short-lived "The Cape," will take on the rule of young genius scientist Bryce.
