Katie Cassidy’s self-described workplace motto — “Happy to be here, easy to work with!” — was nearly tested when she got the official word in October 2015 that she was being let go from The CW’s Arrow, four seasons in.
In the latest episode of Smallville alum Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You podcast (cued up above), Cassidy offers a new level of play-by-play detail about her unexpected ouster, recounting how she grew to suspect that “Laurel Lance” would be the answer to Season 4’s “Who’s in the grave?” mystery and then fast-tracking confirmation before heading to New York Comic Con.

Though "The Dark Knight" is obviously the more successful of the Christopher Nolan movies, and one of the 100 best movies of all time according by our standards, some believe it's not the best Batman movie Nolan made. That honor could go to "Batman Begins," a movie that feels more like a comic book movie than a James Bond story, a movie with fantastic production design that doesn't just look like New York City or Chicago. Instead, the film introduces Kowloon-inspired slum district of the Narrows that has become a big part of Batman mythos. "Batman Begins" also has one of the best Bat-suits in film and some incredible visuals in its recreations of all-time great scenes from Frank Miller's "Batman: Year One."

Once upon a time, TV storytelling was a one-way street.
Writers wrote, networks aired, and fans watched. That’s it.
But social media came along and flipped the script, turning television into an interactive experience where fans have a real say in what happens on their favorite shows.
(Michaels/Sony/NBC)
Whether it’s saving a canceled series, influencing character arcs, or completely shifting the direction of a story, social media has made TV more of a collaboration than ever before.
But is that always a good thing? Let’s dig in.

Hello, “You.”
All eyes are on Penn Badgley‘s Joe Goldberg in the trailer for the fifth and final season of psychological thriller series.
“You” centers on Joe, a book-loving hopeless romantic with a penchant for stalking and killing the women he claims to love, as well as anyone who gets in his way. While Joe’s search for The One began in New York, it took him to Los Angeles in Season 2, then to the suffocating suburbs of San Francisco in Season 3, and then to London in Season 4.
Across the pond, Joe was thrown into a 1%-skewering whodunit that forced him finally to accept he’s not a good man — an undeniable truth he avoided for far too long as bodies piled up around him. At the season’s conclusion, Joe returned to the Big Apple with his wealthy partner Kate Galvin and a new lease on life… or so it seems.

“I can’t sing and I can’t dance,” Mildred Burke tells her future manager, husband, business partner (and later ex-husband and rival) Billy Wolfe. “But I can tell a story and beat some ass.”
What a story, and what an ass-beating. “Queen of the Ring” is a wide-eyed and inspirational biopic about Burke, born Mildred Bliss, who defied gender norms, broke arbitrary laws separating and limiting the participation of all genders in sports, and shattered the glass ceiling. She was a single mother, an entrepreneur and I hope I never get punched as hard as she can punch. At a time when women’s wrestling was outlawed throughout much of the United States, she not only proved it could be done, but also that it could be profitable as hell.
Mildred Burke is played by Emily Bett Rickards, who is best known for playing the hacker Felicity Smoak on the superhero TV series “Arrow.

The Batman villain Harley Quinn made her debut on the "Batman: The Animated Series" episodes "Joker's Favor", where she was voiced by actress Arleen Sorkin. The character was envisioned as a clown-like moll for the Joker, and was given a ditzy personality and a broad Noo Yawk accent. She proved to be so popular that she was eventually incorporated into Batman comic books, and soon grew to have titles of her own. Over the years, Harley Quinn has appeared in multiple TV shows and movies, most recently played in live-action by Lady Gaga in "Joker: Folie à Deux."
Fun trivia: Harley Quinn was actually preceded by a very, very similar character called Prank (Corinne Bohrer), a clown-like moll to a very Joker-like villain named the Trickster (Mark Hamill) on a 1991 episode of "The Flash." Whether or not the makers of "Batman: The Animated Series" were aware of Prank is a matter of speculation.

Shortly after Smallville concluded on The CW, the network launched its next superhero TV series in 2012 with Arrow. Stephen Amell was cast as Green Arrow and, as the years passed, his show spawned several spin-offs and a shared DC Universe later dubbed the "Arrowverse."
The show's achievements are undeniable but it had a lot of "CW-isms." Among them was giving Green Arrow a geeky female sidekick in Emily Bett Rickards' Felicity Smoak, the spiritual successor to Smallville's Chloe Sullivan.
Felicity was soon established as Oliver Queen's true love, a decision that upset those eager to see his romance with Black Canary fully explored.
Doing the rounds to promote her new movie, Queen of the Ring, Rickards - who plays wrestling legend Mildred Burke in the biopic - reflected on needing a thick skin in response to the criticisms.

TV fans watched her light up the superhero world as Felicity Smoak on eight seasons of Arrow. Now, Emily Bett Rickards takes on an entirely new challenge: portraying legendary 1930s pro wrestler Mildred Burke in Queen of the Ring, a big-screen adaption of Jeff Leen’s biography of the same name that hits theaters on March 7. As a groundbreaking figure for athletes, entertainers, and women in general, Burke’s story is inspirational, and Rickards has already received strong acclaim for her performance after the film premiered at the Buffalo Film Festival last year. TV Insider chatted with the Canadian-born star about being hooked by Mildred’s attitude, the real-life physical rigors of transforming into a pro wrestler, and why Arrow and pro wrestling fans may be more alike than you think. We are inching closer to the official theatrical release of Queen of the Ring. How are you feeling about it?...

The Head and the Heart are back to announce their sixth album, Aperture, set for release on May 9th (pre-orders are ongoing). To go along with the announcement, Consequence is premiering the album’s lead single, “After the Setting Sun,” and sharing the band’s Origins breakdown.
Aperture arrives with a sense of new for The Head and the Heart. For one, it’s their first release since signing to Verve Forecast, joining fellow folk and Americana talents like Madison Cunningham and Joy Oladokun. But perhaps more crucially, the project is the band’s first entirely self-produced album, and their first with a brand new songwriting style.

Blind justice will take over the MCU as Marvel’s darkest, most spiritually tormented hero returns to the small screen next week with Daredevil: Born Again. Writer Frank Miller’s iconic 70s run of Daredevil, which reimagined the titular hero in a gritty, realistic, and tragic setup—with greater emphasis on the psychological recesses of the character, and the success of CW’s Arrow, which paved the way for grounded, dark small-screen superhero ventures—acted as the foundation of Netflix’s Daredevil back in 2015. With Charlie Cox’s brilliant portrayal as The Man Without Fear, the series continued for three successful seasons—and through its nuanced characterization, storytelling, cinematography, and action sequences, it offered viewers some of the most iconic moments of comic-book media in the process. After an untimely cancellation by Netflix in 2018, fans have been begging for a much-deserved continuation of the series—which they will finally get...

Suits: LA just premiered, but is this revival of the hit USA Network series worth watching?
Caution: This article contains Spoilers for the pilot of Suits: LA
From the start, this show is a lot different than the Suits fans have known and loved. We see a flashback of Ted Black (Stephen Amell), a federal prosecutor in New York trying to push a witness to testify on a mob boss, only for the guy's house to be bombed.
Ted wakes up in the present day in his LA home with his Down's Syndrome-affected sibling, Eddie. Ted runs a powerful LA firm with longtime friend Stuart Lane (Josh McDemritt). Ted runs the entertainment part of the firm while Lane deals with the criminal side as Ted "is hard-wired not to help people escape jail." That includes Lester, a movie producer accused of shooting someone, which he claims he's innocent of.

Now that The Couple Next Door‘s final episode has aired Stateside, it’s time for some scholarly and in-depth analysis of a profound query: Which character in the kooky, erotic thriller loses their damn minds the most in the season finale?

Remember the Summer of Suits?
The hottest show in the warmest months of 2023 was, improbably, Suits, a slick, mostly lighthearted basic-cable legal drama from the 2010s. To the surprise of everyone — including its own stars, as well as its creator, Aaron Korsh — Suits went viral that summer, first in clips on TikTok, then dominating the Netflix home screen and top 10 rankings for months.

When NBC announced the pickup of Suits LA after the Suits renaissance, I had many reservations.
After Suits Season 9, what else was there to say about the world of lawyers?
The one-and-done spinoff Pearson was brilliant because it took a completely different approach and told a compelling story world away from the legal battles the original series charted.
(Jordin Althaus/NBC)
So, I wasn’t thrilled with NBC’s decision to shift the action to Los Angeles for Suits LA.
It felt more like reheating an already tired format with some changes and calling it a spinoff. It’s the way forward nowadays, but this franchise deserves much better than that.
(David Astorga/NBC)
Fortunately for viewers, I was wrong with my initial concerns because Suits LA Season 1 Episode 1 remarkably reinvented the wheel.
The episode threw us into the deep end, with Ted Black in a crisis as some significant changes happen in his life.

Hot off the heels of the unexpected “Suits” resurgence of summer 2023, the latest spinoff of the 2011 USA Network series is upon us, forcing us to remember what it was that we liked about “Suits” in the first place.
Unfortunately, the answer to that question is not found in the first episode of “Suits LA.” It’s also not found in the other two episodes sent to critics for review, though they do get closer to the feeling of the original show. “Suits” creator Aaron Korsh spent the past year and a half riding the original’s streaming success right into “Suits LA,” which he also created — and maybe he rode a little too far and got lost in the plot along the way, giving us a show that’s both too much and not enough at the same time.

One of the interesting and relatively unknown characters set to make his big screen debut in James Gunn's Superman is "Mister Terrific." He first graced DC's pages in 1997's Spectre #54 (written by John Ostrander and illustrated by Tom Mandrake). On-screen, he will be played by Edi Gathegi and is supposed to be "the main character of those [other] characters [in the movie]."
Previously, he appeared live on the CW's Arrow (Echo Kellum) and had a few stints in animated projects, one was voiced by the Cosby-outing comedian Hannibal Burress.
For Black History Month, it's important to celebrate Bipoc heroes and villains because the writers and artists didn't hold back when it came to creating diversity among the legion of characters. They have been given amazing powers--some cosmic, others mutant, and a few elite humans. Mister Terrific is the third smartest character in all DC lore, next to Lex Luthor and the Atom, Ray Palmer.

Meghan Markle is back in the headlines, again. This time, it’s not about Netflix deals, podcasts, or even her non-profit organization. No, it’s about Suits. Yes, the very show that catapulted her from cable TV actress to royal status. The show’s creator, Aaron Korsh, recently revealed that Markle has an ‘open invitation’ to return.

But here’s the real kicker, while the red carpet might be metaphorically rolled out for her, the fan reaction is anything but warm and fuzzy. After all, the Duchess of Sussex left Suits faster than a paralegal running away from a corporate merger gone wrong. So, will she make a triumphant return, or will it be another PR misstep in the ever-growing collection? Let’s break it down.

Stephen Amell has offered a candid look at the taxing nature of his role as Oliver Queen on the CW series Arrow. Speaking in an interview, Amell recalled the early days of the show, when the grueling work hours and mounting pressure led him to “white-knuckle” every moment.
“The first two or three years of Arrow, I was gripping so tight. I was white-knuckling it. The hours were long. By the time we got to the fifth episode of the first season, I’d worked more on that show than I’d ever worked on anything in my life,” he said.
Amell acknowledged that the intense schedule and the constant demands of the leading role tested his patience, at times resulting in a short fuse. He maintained that while frustration was part of the experience, it never crossed the line into unprofessional behavior.

Looks like Stephen Amell has hit another bull’s-eye. After eight seasons as superhero archer Oliver Queen on The CW‘s Arrow, the former Green Arrow is playing a straight shooter of a different kind in Suits LA, NBC‘s new California-set spinoff of Suits, the beloved 2011–19 USA Network legal dramedy. Decked out in Tom Ford rather than Oliver’s leather pants — or the tights he rocked in his passion project, Starz‘s two-season wrestling drama Heels — Amell has risen to the elevated status of Ted Black, a former New York federal prosecutor who’s reinvented himself as an A-list entertainment lawyer. “I’m enjoying the change a lot,” he told our sister publication TV Weekly. “It’s very, very easy to feel like the coolest guy in the room when you’re wearing a bespoke suit that has been tailored within an inch of its life.” Fittingly, the series...

Despite a few disjointed aspects of the story, Watson proves it has legs. The only thing left to see now is whether or not it can get its stride.
As always, Morris Chestnut uses his charisma to steal every scene, but can he shoulder an entire show? The pieces are all there as this puzzle slowly reveals the mystery hidden under the facade of a medical procedural.
While the premise of Watson is captivating, audience enjoyment boils down to character development and how skillfully the series can weave medical mysteries that enthrall viewers more than confuse.

A cast of pretty people won’t matter much if the medical jargon coming from them leaves viewers scratching their heads.
Thankfully, the series respects audiences enough not to spoon-feed or breadcrumb the plot.

It's really great to see how Constantine has become a cult classic over the years. Released in 2005 at a time when supernatural dramas were all the rage, the horror thriller barely acknowledged the fact that it was based on a DC / Vertigo comic book character. Instead of a blonde, foul-mouthed British man in a brown trenchcoat, John Constantine was a suit-wearing American with dark hair played by everyone's favorite actor Keanu Reeves.
Two decades later and a sequel is in development at Warner Bros., with Reeves set to return. The film was announced in 2022 and it was music to fans' ears. Reeves has experienced a career resurgence over the past decade due to the John Wick franchise, so Constantine 2 felt inevitable - especially when you consider its passionate fanbase. And yet, it always felt so far away, too.

Shortly after Smallville concluded on The CW, the network launched a new superhero series in 2012 with Arrow. Stephen Amell was cast as Green Arrow and, as the years passed, his show spawned several spin-offs and a shared DC Universe dubbed the "Arrowverse."

"I was never a monster," the actor continued. "I was never disrespectful - but I had a short fuse.

From playing a brooding vigilante in Arrow to dipping his toes into professional wrestling, Stephen Amell is quite a physical specimen. The actor also performed the famous salmon ladder sequence in the pilot of Arrow without any assistance from the stunt team, which is considered by many the pinnacle of superhero training.

When Stephen Amell landed Arrow, it felt like he had been ‘shot out of a cannon.’ It was a massive opportunity, but the demanding schedule took a toll. Filming for ten months a year left little room for anything else. Looking back, he admits he didn’t always handle the pressure well.
‘The first few years, I was gripping so tight,’ he says. ‘I was white-knuckling it.’ By episode five of season one, he had already worked more hours than on anything else in his career. He insists he was never rude or disrespectful, but admits he had a ‘short fuse’ at times.

But six months later, he landed the leading role of Ted Black in Suits LA, and he is assuring fans that he’s aware of the responsibility that position holds. “I’m part of a team, and there are a lot of people counting on me,” he explained. “I could stand to be more thoughtful.” When SAG-AFTRA went on strike to protest for better pay, working conditions, and more, Amell said striking was a “reductive negotiating tactic” and “myopic.” He...
