Katie Cassidy is sharing the true details behind initially getting fired from Arrow.

The 38-year-old actress, who played Laurel Lance in the series, made an appearance on Michael Rosenbaum‘s Inside of You podcast.

Chicago Fire might not be the only blaze on NBC’s primetime lineup.

The network is developing a drama series based on Candice Fox’s 2023 novel Fire With Fire, which would star This Is Us alum Jon Huertas. According to our sister site Deadline, which first reported the project, Huertas will also executive-produce alongside The Rookie creator Alexi Hawley, while onetime Arrow co-showrunner Wendy Mericle will write the script.

Exclusive: NBC is developing a drama starring Jon Huertas, who will executive produce alongside The Rookie and The Recruit creator Alexi Hawley.

Former Arrow co-showrunner Wendy Mericle is writing the untitled project based on the novel Fire with Fire by bestselling author Candice Fox.

Executive producer Sherry Marsh acquired the rights to the book while under her deal at eOne. The company’s Mike Lombardo and Jackie Sacerio optioned the title. It comes from Lionsgate Television, where Hawley is under an overall deal, and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Huertas and Mericle executive produce alongside Hawley, through Perfectman Pictures and Marsh for Marsh Entertainment. Perfectman’s Rachel Abarbanell will co-executive produce.

This is Huertas’ return to acting following a two-year break while focusing on directing, and to NBC where he starred on their smash hit series This Is Us in...

Warner Bros. Television has promoted veteran executive Clancy Collins White to the newly created position of president of creative affairs.

In the role, Collins White will continue to oversee scripted programming development for Wbtv while also adding oversight of casting and research. She reports to Channing Dungey, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group and Wbd US Networks.

All eyes are on Penn Badgley‘s Joe Goldberg in the trailer for the fifth and final season of psychological thriller series.

“You” centers on Joe, a book-loving hopeless romantic with a penchant for stalking and killing the women he claims to love, as well as anyone who gets in his way. While Joe’s search for The One began in New York, it took him to Los Angeles in Season 2, then to the suffocating suburbs of San Francisco in Season 3, and then to London in Season 4.

Across the pond, Joe was thrown into a 1%-skewering whodunit that forced him finally to accept he’s not a good man — an undeniable truth he avoided for far too long as bodies piled up around him. At the season’s conclusion, Joe returned to the Big Apple with his wealthy partner Kate Galvin and a new lease on life… or so it seems.

“I can’t sing and I can’t dance,” Mildred Burke tells her future manager, husband, business partner (and later ex-husband and rival) Billy Wolfe. “But I can tell a story and beat some ass.”

What a story, and what an ass-beating. “Queen of the Ring” is a wide-eyed and inspirational biopic about Burke, born Mildred Bliss, who defied gender norms, broke arbitrary laws separating and limiting the participation of all genders in sports, and shattered the glass ceiling. She was a single mother, an entrepreneur and I hope I never get punched as hard as she can punch. At a time when women’s wrestling was outlawed throughout much of the United States, she not only proved it could be done, but also that it could be profitable as hell.

The Batman villain Harley Quinn made her debut on the "Batman: The Animated Series" episodes "Joker's Favor", where she was voiced by actress Arleen Sorkin. The character was envisioned as a clown-like moll for the Joker, and was given a ditzy personality and a broad Noo Yawk accent. She proved to be so popular that she was eventually incorporated into Batman comic books, and soon grew to have titles of her own. Over the years, Harley Quinn has appeared in multiple TV shows and movies, most recently played in live-action by Lady Gaga in "Joker: Folie à Deux." 

Fun trivia: Harley Quinn was actually preceded by a very, very similar character called Prank (Corinne Bohrer), a clown-like moll to a very Joker-like villain named the Trickster (Mark Hamill) on a 1991 episode of "The Flash." Whether or not the makers of "Batman: The Animated Series" were aware of Prank is a matter of speculation.

Kevin Bacon has been to hell and back… and he’s taking a few demons back with him.

Prime Video has released the official trailer for The Bondsman, a new horror-comedy series from Blumhouse Television that premieres all eight episodes on Thursday, April 3. In the trailer, which you can watch above, Bacon stars as Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who ends up getting murdered on the job. The next thing he knows, he’s back on Earth, where he’s informed he’s been resurrected so he can “hunt demons for the Devil.” Piece of cake, right?

Shortly after Smallville concluded on The CW, the network launched its next superhero TV series in 2012 with Arrow. Stephen Amell was cast as Green Arrow and, as the years passed, his show spawned several spin-offs and a shared DC Universe later dubbed the "Arrowverse."

David Johansen, the pioneering vocalist known for his work with New York Dolls and his persona Buster Poindexter, has died. He was 75 years old.

According to a statement from his publicist, Johansen “died at home in New York City on Friday afternoon holding hands with his wife Mara Hennessey and daughter Leah, surrounded by music, flowers, and love. He was 75-years-old and died of natural causes after nearly a decade of illness.”

Johansen had been battling stage four cancer and a brain tumor, and had kept the situation private for a number of years. After a fall that broke his back in two places last November, though, things had taken a turn for the worst, leading him to reveal his diagnosis and ask for financial help in January 2025.

Born David Roger Johansen on January 9th, 1950 in New York City, Johansen first rose to prominence performing with local groups on Staten Island.

The hottest show in the warmest months of 2023 was, improbably, Suits, a slick, mostly lighthearted basic-cable legal drama from the 2010s. To the surprise of everyone — including its own stars, as well as its creator, Aaron Korsh — Suits went viral that summer, first in clips on TikTok, then dominating the Netflix home screen and top 10 rankings for months.

So, I wasn’t thrilled with NBC’s decision to shift the action to Los Angeles for Suits LA.

It felt more like reheating an already tired format with some changes and calling it a spinoff. It’s the way forward nowadays, but this franchise deserves much better than that.

Fortunately for viewers, I was wrong with my initial concerns because Suits LA Season 1 Episode 1 remarkably reinvented the wheel.

The episode threw us into the deep end, with Ted Black in a crisis as some significant changes happen in his life.

Hot off the heels of the unexpected “Suits” resurgence of summer 2023, the latest spinoff of the 2011 USA Network series is upon us, forcing us to remember what it was that we liked about “Suits” in the first place.

Unfortunately, the answer to that question is not found in the first episode of “Suits LA.” It’s also not found in the other two episodes sent to critics for review, though they do get closer to the feeling of the original show. “Suits” creator Aaron Korsh spent the past year and a half riding the original’s streaming success right into “Suits LA,” which he also created — and maybe he rode a little too far and got lost in the plot along the way, giving us a show that’s both too much and not enough at the same time.

One of the interesting and relatively unknown characters set to make his big screen debut in James Gunn's Superman is "Mister Terrific." Despite a few disjointed aspects of the story, Watson proves it has legs. The only thing left to see now is whether or not it can get its stride.

As always, Morris Chestnut uses his charisma to steal every scene, but can he shoulder an entire show? The pieces are all there as this puzzle slowly reveals the mystery hidden under the facade of a medical procedural.

While the premise of Watson is captivating, audience enjoyment boils down to character development and how skillfully the series can weave medical mysteries that enthrall viewers more than confuse.
