so, so ....

It's basically hit or miss. Some episodes work , some don't.

---------

Episode 1: Kidnapping Pretty good. Interesting and kept a good pace throughout. Made me queue it up for the next episode.

Episode 2: Pill Mills Meh. It was interesting, but it's a story that has already been told MANY times on various true crime shows. So, it wasn't anything really "new" but rather more of a "rehash" if anything.

Episode 3: MS13 What a boring, overly narrative episode. Quite literally ALL the interesting footage, photos, etc. Appear in the opening 1 minute "teaser" for the episode. Then it goes on to stretch that 1 minute out over another 40 minutes (using the same footage, photos, etc shown in the opening minute) without really ANYTHING new. Episode 3 is essentially just listening to 2 guys talk for 40 minutes. After the first minute, there's no need to look at any screen, just listen.

Episode 4: Garden City This was an interesting episode for me. Although it was essentially 90% narrative, it was done much better than the overly narrative nature of episode 3. Perhaps merely because it was 4-6 people telling the story rather than only 2.

-----

I do think this is more of a "podcast on tv" type of show. The visuals are few and far between and most often it's 3 or 4 photos and perhaps some B-roll. If they have more, they do show more. But it certainly is not a "never before seen" type of series. It's more of "from the mouth of the FBI agent" type of series.
