Star Wars Will Finally Answer One Of The Biggest Questions We Have About Stormtroopers
Image
"Star Wars" is at its best when it is simply exploring the ramifications of its setting, painting a picture of the weird little corners of the franchise's universe, and telling stories that challenge what "Star Wars" can even be. It's what made the one-two punch of "Skeleton Crew" (a delightful space pirate adventure) dropping right before "Andor" (one of the most poignant TV shows of the decade) so effective.

This is something "Star Wars: Visions" does extremely well, telling non-canon stories that take the imagery and tropes of "Star Wars" to the extreme. Shorts like "The Duel" or "Into the Stars" completely reimagine what the franchise can be, while "Visions" as a whole tends to prioritize stories that speak to the real-world's history.

For volume 3, "Star Wars: Visions" is going back to its roots by tapping Japanese anime studios to tell a variety of different stories. One of those shorts...

John Carpenter
Peter Kwong of Big Trouble in Little China and The Golden Child has passed away at age 73
John Carpenter
We’re big fans of director John Carpenter’s 1986 action extravaganza Big Trouble in Little China here on JoBlo. We’ve sung its praises with a Revisited video, named it the greatest cult film of all time, and dug into the film’s three best scenes… so we’re very sad to hear that actor Peter Kwong, who played the super-powered martial artist Rain in the Carpenter film, has passed away at the age of 73. According to Variety‘s report, Kwong died in his sleep Tuesday night.

Kwong is best remembered for playing Rain, but that was just one of almost 90 screen acting credits he racked up over the course of a career that stretched back nearly fifty years. Hailing from Sacramento, California, Kwong got his acting career started with an appearance on a 1976 episode of the TV series Visions. Among his many other credits are roles in the films Straight Time,...

“The animation just gets better by the year”: The Godlike ‘Tales of the Underworld’ Animation Can Save Star Wars, Only If Kathleen Kennedy Lets it
Image
The Star Wars franchise has had a better track record in animation, especially as its big-screen installments received increasingly more criticism. The Tales series is quickly becoming the flagbearer of the franchise’s limitless potential in the medium, and Tales of the Underworld is another glowing addition to the lineup.

The third season of the series, which originally started as Tales of the Jedi, tells the stories of the bounty hunters and criminals active in the underworld during the Empire’s tyrannical reign over the galaxy far, far away. Fans of the franchise are in love with the show’s improved quality in the latest installment, and here is why it might just be what the Star Wars universe needs right now.

Star Wars fans cannot stop raving about Tales of the Underworld

Star Wars received an anniversary present when Tales of the Underworld, the third installment of the animated anthology series,...

May The 4th Be With You - Lucasfilm Releases New Montage Video To Mark Star Wars Day
Image
May the 4th be with you.

Every year on this say, Star Wars fans the world over show their appreciation for all things Galaxy Far, Far Away, and Lucasfilm has now joined the celebration by releasing an all-new montage of footage from every movie, live-action and animated series in the saga.

The video cleverly mashes-up footage and dialogue from all three movie trilogies, as well as the likes of The Mandalorian, Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars Rebels, Visions, Skeleton Crew, and more.

We haven't seen Star Wars on the big screen since The Rise of Skywalker, but that will soon change. In addition to Shawn Levy's Star Wars: Starfighter, Lucasfilm has Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's untitled Rey-focused movie, James Mangold's Dawn of the Jedi (probably not the official title), and Dave Filoni's "Mandoverse" crossover event in the works.

“I think it’s a very clever way for fans...

Tales of the Jedi Star Wars Celebration panel suggests new animated series is on the way
Image
This May, Star Wars fans are expecting more big announcements than ever thanks to Star Wars Celebration. The convention last occurred in 2019 and was postponed in 2020, and is now happening next month. Some major announcements are already leaking — just based on details provided officially by the convention itself. All assumptions thus far, but exciting nonetheless.

Star Wars Celebration announced all of its panels officially today, including one that doesn’t quite confirm rumors of a new animated anthology Star Wars series … but definitely doesn’t strongly suggest the rumors are true.

The panel, titled “Tales of the Jedi” and hosted by Amy Ratcliffe, will also feature special guest Dave Filoni. You know, just the man possibly best known in the Star Wars community for his work on the animated series that have released since Revenge of the Sith.

Additionally, the description for the panel specifies the presentation will be about...

The Most Popular Star Wars Character Is One of the Last George Lucas Helped Create, Says New Study
Image
After Star Wars Celebration wrapped up only a few weeks ago and Revenge of the Sith has returned to theaters everywhere to celebrate its 20th anniversary, there’s no better time to be a Star Wars fan than right now. The latest season of Andor recently hit Disney+ last week, and it’s already earned the title as the highest-rated Star Wars project ever. Fandom has conducted a new study on the Star Wars franchise by collecting data from fans, which has revealed the favorite characters, movie/TV shows, and even games.

Leading the charge for the favorite character is Ahsoka, voiced by Ashley Eckstein in animation and portrayed by Rosario Dawson in live-action. Following behind Ahsoka, in order, is Ben Solo (Adam Driver), Snoke (Andy Serkis), Darth Sidious (Ian McDiarmid), Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), Darth Maul (Sam Witwer/Ray Park), Darth Plagueis, Rey Skywalker (Daisy Ridley), Count Dooku (Christopher Lee...

Disney Reveals New 'Star Wars' TV Anime 'The Ninth Jedi' Is In Development
Image
The Star Wars: Visions anthology series has been a breath of fresh air for long-time fans who weren't impressed by the recent sequel trilogy. But, it appears that Disney and LucasFilm love the animated anthology series as much as fans do, because one of the best short films from the show, titled "The Ninth Jedi," is being adapted into a new series. This year's Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, Japan brought about many surprises, including Ryan Gosling taking to the stage to promote his new Star Wars movie with Shawn Levy. But, no one expecting a brand new, previously unannounced show to be unveiled.

That's exactly what happened during the third and final day of Star Wars Celebration. The Ninth Jedi series was announced by LucasFilm's senior VP of franchise content and strategy, James Waugh, to roarous applause from the crowd. "The Ninth Jedi" short film was written and directed by Kenji Kamiyama,...

Another Star Wars Celebration has come and gone, but there's plenty to look back on before we put it all behind us. Here is a quick recap of all the movie and show news that fans can start to prepare for in the following year.

The Mandalorian & Grogu

For the first time ever, Din Djarin and Grogu are coming to the big screen. The Mandalorian & Grogu, which is now expected in theaters on May 22, 2026, will send the clan of two on another epic adventure across the galaxy.

Pedro Pascal will reprise his role as The Mandalorian himself, and fans can expect to see plenty of faces, old and new -- and in IMAX, too!

Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 2

'Star Wars' TV Series From 'Lost's Carlton Cuse, Nick Cuse, in the Works
Image
Star Wars Celebration might be over, but that isn't slowing down the news from a galaxy far, far away, as one of Lost co-creators is working on a new series for Disney+. After a weekend filled with news about new films and animated projects, one notable absence from Star Wars Celebration was the news of any new live-action Star Wars series. There was a lot of attention paid to Andor and Ahsoka Season 2, but there was nothing new about the status of Skeleton Crew, or maybe a decision to reverse course and renew The Acolyte. It appears, though, that Lucasfilm has something in the works for live-action Star Wars television, but it might not have been ready in time for a big announcement at Celebration in Tokyo, Japan.

Variety reports that Lost co-showrunner Carlton Cuse and his son, writer Nick Cuse, are working on a Star Wars series. No further...

‘Star Wars’ Celebration 2025: All the biggest announcements you might have missed
Image
Andor will end with its already-acclaimed second season, but there are still plenty of Star Wars stories on the horizon. This year’s iteration of the semi-annual Star Wars Celebration convention, which took place in Tokyo, Japan over the weekend, gave plenty of star-studded updates on both fan-favorite Star Wars projects and new, previously unannounced installments. Here’s a roundup of what you may have missed.

What did we learn about existing Star Wars shows and movies at Celebration 2025?

Disney+ shows abound, but the last theatrically-released Star Wars movie remains 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. That will change next year with The Mandalorian and Grogu, a cinematic conclusion to Disney+’s first original series directed by series creator Jon Favreau, who was on hand at Celebration to promote the movie alongside his creative collaborator Dave Filoni and stars Pedro Pascal (reprising his role as the titular Mandalorian bounty hunter Djin...

Star Wars Celebration: ‘Star Wars: Visions’ Reveals Season 3 Release Date, ‘The Ninth Jedi’ Standalone Series
Star Wars: Visions (2021)
He was just supposed to be passing by, but Ronin, the former Sith Lord character who appeared in the first season of the animated anthology Star Wars: Visions, will be returning in the third season of the Lucasfilm series which debuts on Disney+ on Oct. 29 this year.

The big reveal came at the Star Wars Celebration event in Tokyo, in a panel dedicated to the hit show, where Visions executive producer James Waugh confirmed that three of the most popular storylines from the first season of the show — “The Duel,” “The Village Bride” and “The Ninth Jedi” — will be continuing in the upcoming third volume of episodes.

Waugh also revealed a “bold new direction” for Visions with the introduction of the Star Wars: Visions Presents banner, which he said would be giving filmmakers a chance to tell deeper and more longform stories without the constraints of the shorter runtime of the typical Visions episodes.

With Tales of the Underworld, when is Star Wars: Visions Season 3 coming out?
Image
Tales of the Underworld was announced earlier this week, which was a surprise to me. Not because I didn't think that they wouldn't do another Tales series. It's more that it broke the pattern.

For the last four years, Tales and Star Wars: Visions have alternated their release order. Visions has been the odd years, and Tales were the even one. If the pattern continued, then Tales would have come out in 2026 with Visions having the 2025 slot.

So then, when is Visions coming out if Tales took its slot this year?

I know we're more than likely going to get a release date announcement for Star Wars: Visions Season 3 at Star Wars Celebration Japan in just a couple of weeks. But where is the fun in waiting when we can just speculate on a possible date?

If I had to guess, we are getting both anthology shows this year because...

Review: The Star Wars: Visions manga shows we need more stories than just "The Duel"
Image
If there is one favorite child that came out of Star Wars: Visions' first season, it's clearly the first episode, "The Duel." This single short has had multiple one-shot comics as well as a full novel to explore its characters and world on a much deeper level. As a fan of Visions, I adore seeing any of the episodes getting some love despite the Ronin not being my favorite. However, if there is one thing that the Star Wars: Visions: The Manga Anthology showed me, it's time for "The Duel" to step aside and let other characters get a chance to play.

I waited two years to get this anthology. I remember seeing the first artwork of Dan G'Vash and Tajin Crosser cross my feed with the announcement this would be serialized in Japan. "The Elder" is absolutely one of my favorite shorts to come out of this series. While...

Star Wars: Visions win big at the Annie Awards
Image
Star Wars: Visions won big at the Annie Awards. The awards show that celebrates everything in animation honored two shorts from the anthology series.

First up was the fan favorite "Screecher's Reach," which won Best Direction - TV/Media. It won over Scavengers Reign, Pokémon Concierge, My Dad the Bounty Hunter, and Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire. The other winner from Visions was "Aau's Song," which took home Best Music -TV/Media. It beat out Animaniacs, Babylon 5: The Road Home, Pacemaker, and The Smeds and The Smoos.

They weren't the only Visions shorts that were nominated at the Annie Awards. "Sith" was nominated for Best Production Design - TV/Media and Best FX - TV/Media but lost out to Netflix's Blue Eye Samurai in both categories. "I Am Your Mother" and "Screecher's Reach" also lost to Blue Eye Samurai for Best Character Animation - TV/Media and Best Editorial - TV/Media,...

Star Wars: Visions season 2 episodes, ranked
Image
Warning: This article contains spoilers from Star Wars: Visions season 2.

The beauty of an anthology series like Visions is that every episode feels fresh. Every episode is a brand new story with new characters that is full of possibility. The range of stunning animation and diverse interpretations of Star Wars made each episode a joy to watch.

Of course, some episodes resonated more strongly than others. Every episode featured flawless and striking animation, meaning that these rankings will focus more so on the story and character development than the animation of each episode.

Family and sacrifice in Star Wars Visions
Image
One of the most fascinating things about Star Wars: Visions to me is that none of the studios collaborate with each other. And yet despite this, over the course of two seasons, there are certain themes that rise up among the different shorts. For example, in season one, all the shorts were from Japanese studios. With Star Wars heavily influenced by Akira Kurosawa films, it wasn’t a surprise that many of the shorts focused on the lightsaber and its importance.

Star Wars: Visions season two is no exception, as many different themes bubbled to the surface. One in particular that stood out to me was the bond of family. Found family is always prominent in Star Wars throughout the entire franchise. But when it comes to these shorts, there is a focus on blood relations and the community around them, which isn’t as common.

“In the Stars” was the first of these,...

Star Wars: Visions remembered: Akakiri
Image
With season two of Star Wars: Visions coming in 2023, I wanted to look back at each short from season one and celebrate why they’re great. This is Visions Remembered.

It took me a long time to truly appreciate Akakiri. As Science Saru’s second entry after To-B1, I did appreciate it had a completely different tone and style from the cute Astroboy-inspired episode earlier in the season. Still, I struggled with this short for a long time. I thought it was a real bummer tone to end Star Wars: Visions on. But the more I sat with Akakiri, I began to see it in a different light. Each time I watched it, I came to appreciate the story more and more. That’s because I had a realization after talking with a friend of mine about Rey and Ben Solo’s relationship.

The truth is Akakiri is one...

Star Wars: Visions remembered: The Elder
Image
With season two of Star Wars: Visions coming in 2023, I wanted to look back at each short from season one and celebrate why they’re great. This is Visions Remembered.

The Elder is Studio Trigger’s second entry for Star Wars: Visions season one. Paired with The Twins, it does a fantastic job showing the studio’s range from bonkers crazy high octane anime battles to this episode, which is slower, methodical, and focuses on one of the core stories of Star Wars which is the relationship between a Jedi Master and his padawan.

Looking back, this is the only episode of Visions that focuses on the traditional relationship of the Jedi. There are found families or adopted parents in Visions. But because The Elder is structured in a more traditional way focusing on the Jedi, it’s actually quite unique compared to the other shorts because of this. It...

Star Wars: Visions remembered: The Ninth Jedi
Image
With season two of Star Wars: Visions coming in 2023, I wanted to look back at each short from season one and celebrate why they’re great. This is Visions Remembered.

The Ninth Jedi is actually incredibly hard for me to write about. Brought to us by Production Ig aka Studio I.G., the reason this was the hardest one for me to tackle is the fact that The Ninth Jedi is so good. It’s the most solid entry from Star Wars: Visions. There’s a reason why it’s universally thought to be the best of the group or at least in people’s top rankings. When things are this good, it’s hard to point out just one or two things that make it stand out. I could probably write a full-length essay on this episode. I’ll do my best to keep this somewhat short.

I think...

Star Wars Visions remembered: Tatooine Rhapsody

With season two of Star Wars: Visions coming in 2023, I wanted to look back at each short from season one and celebrate why they’re great. This is Visions Remembered.

Look, I want to try and talk about all of the Star Wars: Visions shorts as equals and not give some special treatment over others. Of course, I have my favorites and least favorites, but this series on Dork Side of the Force is about pointing out the good in each of them.

But Tatooine Rhapsody is my favorite! I know I have to try and be unbiased when writing these editorials, but Tatooine Rhapsody is my precious child and doesn’t deserve all the hate it gets, and everyone is just mean because this is easily the most Star Wars short out of the entire bunch and it is my sweet baby, Okay!?

Though, I do get why this...

Star Wars Visions remembered: The Duel
Image
With season two of Star Wars: Visions coming in 2023, I wanted to look back at each short from season one and celebrate why they’re great. This is Visions Remembered.

The Duel is the perfect opener for Star Wars: Visions. Not just for the fans of anime, but it’s really made everyone else who never dipped their toe into the medium. When everyday people think of Japan or anime, I’m sure one of the first things that come to their mind are samurai. Opening Star Wars: Visions with a Star Wars version of a classic Ronin story eases an everyday audience into what to expect from anime before it veers into different kinds of anime genres. Maybe The Village Bride or The Elder could have been successful as first entries too, but The Duel does a fantastic job capturing what an average audience probably expects out of something from Japan short of Godzilla,...

Star Wars Visions: 1 year later
Image
Star Wars has a long history with Japan. Samurai were a huge inspiration for George Lucas as well as the films of Akira Kurosawa. While I haven’t been in anime circles recently, I grew up with the medium. Star Wars and anime felt like they should be a match made in heaven. Fan videos and comics crafted in an anime style always clicked perfectly in my mind. It felt like a major gaping hole that a galaxy far, far away didn’t have an anime series. So when Star Wars Visions was announced, it felt like a long time coming.

Visions’ nine shorts was unlike anything else in the entire franchise. Not having to play in the rules of canon, the creators could do anything they wanted within the galaxy and could take on their own view of the franchise.

Now, one year later, Visions is still one of...

The Ronin returns in new Star Wars Visions comic
Image
The world of Star Wars comics is vast and ever-expanding. It seems like every new series brings something new to the larger Star Wars universe — even in instances where the characters, setting, and themes are familiar to readers.

This winter, the world of Star Wars Visions and one of its main players returns in comic form. Star Wars: Visions – Takashi Okazaki — by writer and artist Takashi Okazaki — will shed new light on both the origins of The Ronin and the infamous Sith.

According to StarWars.com, the first issue of the upcoming comic is part of an ongoing series from Marvel that “invites comics creators to put their own spin on the galaxy far, far away in the spirit of Lucasfilm’s animated anthology of the same name.” The series is set to kick off this November with Star Wars: Visions – Peach Momoko #1.

“The Ronin” wasn’t just the main character in “The Duel,...

Star Wars: Visions episode 5: “The Ninth Jedi” ending explained
Image
Episode 5 of Star Wars: Visions, “The Ninth Jedi,” encapsulates the purest of Star Wars lore: hope. Highlighting how those from the Dark Side use the shadows to gain their tactical advantage, this episode reveals the necessity to adapt and why the Jedi must use similar strategies to survive.

In this episode of the Disney+ series, after receiving a transmission from a mysterious Juro to unite any Jedi who answer the call, those who arrive are left wondering if this person can be trusted. While it’s uncertain if this call is a trap or not, they must wait for their summoner to arrive in a temple above the planet’s surface. While waiting, we see Kara and her father on the planet below. Zhima was tasked with creating lightsabers for all of those who answer Juro’s call.

As we see Zhima complete his work, two hunters arrive, and it...

Has Saw XI been cancelled?
Image
As soon as Saw X, the tenth entry in the Saw franchise (you can read our review Here), was released in September of 2023, franchise producers were already talking about the potential of a Saw XI. The official announcement came that December, along with a release date: September 27, 2024… but then it was said that the producers and Lionsgate had decided to take a little extra time with this one, Saw XI was pushed back to September 26, 2025. Now, our friends at Bloody Disgusting are reporting that we might not see another sequel in the Saw franchise at all, as a source “close to the production” has informed them that Saw XI has been cancelled!

According to this source, “It’s totally dead. It’s 100% over. Almost a year now.” The source added, “Everything went sideways in January 2024 … the producers started fighting.” One producer attempted to plow forward with the film, but the...

‘Squad 36’ Cast And Characters Guide
Image
Director Olivier Marchal’s Squad 36 is a grounded, slow-paced thriller that meditates upon the very topical issue of police corruption. While the narrative focuses on the actions of individuals who abuse the powers they have been given to serve their own selfish means, the thematic significance of Squad 36 holds the rotting system and the seedy hierarchy of power accountable for creating an environment where such corruption festers. Characterization plays a key role in storylines such as this one, and it’s decent enough in the case of Squad 36. The issue is that the lead, whose Pov guides viewers through the narrative, is way less interesting than the characters who remain off-screen most of the time and yet affect the story the most. For a movie that is over two hours long, it is surprising the film doesn’t even have a fleshed-out roster of main characters—a...

Italian company Palomar acquired adaptation rights to the novel in 2021 and is leading the production with Paris-based 24 25 Films, both of which are Mediawan companies.

‘Star Wars: Visions’ Renewed for Season 3 at Disney+
Image
Disney and Lucasfilm have revealed that animated anthology series Star Wars: Visions is coming back for a third volume in 2025. The news was announced on the first day of Disney’s two-day Content Showcase event in Singapore.

Volume three of Visions will return to Japan, with 9 new animated shorts from anime studios in the country. The Japanese studios involved include David Production, Kamikaze Douga+ Anima, Kinema Citrus, Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, Trigger and Wit Studio.

When it debuted in 2021, Visions was a bold creative choice by Lucasfilm as it was a collection of non-canon animated shorts created by different Japanese animation studios and featuring different animation styles. The lack of restrictions led to wildly imaginative interpretations of the Star Wars mythos that proved incredibly popular with fans and critics alike.

Gerard Butlers Has Fallen Spin-off Series Gets Promising Reactions From Action Fans
Image
One of, if not the best Gerard Butler action franchise, the Fallen saga, has expanded beyond Butler himself and onto the small screen in the StudioCanal series Paris Has Fallen, which is now available to stream in the U.K. and will soon land on Hulu in the U.S. Directed by Oded Ruskin and Hans Herbots, and starring Tewfik Jallab (Blood Coast), Ritu Arya (The Umbrella Academy), and Sean Harris (Mission: Impossible - Fallout), Paris Has Fallen has now received its first reactions and reviews and it sounds like the spin-off is a worthy follow-up to the action thriller series.

"Gerard Butler was the executive producer of Paris Has Fallen. No wonder it's so so good," declared X/Twitter user and action fan @Onahi_. @NiGhTVioLaToR adds, "Paris Has Fallen is a great series. #AmazonPrime," while @akinomoakiin says, "If you need an interesting TV series for the weekend go and see Paris Has Fallen.

‘Agatha All Along’ Soundtrack: All The Songs You’ll Hear Along The Witches’ Road
Image
If you still haven’t heard the earworm that is the “Ballad of the Witches’ Road,” from Marvel’s Agatha All Along count yourself lucky, because it is catchy. There are even multiple versions of the song, an original masterpiece by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez with various lyrics, which are fun to decipher. For example, Lorna Wu’s version of the ballad contains different verses than the original one sung by Agatha’s ragtag coven. Japanese Breakfast even covered a new pop version of the ballad, produced by Jack Antonoff.

Florence + the Machine’s song “Seven Devils” was used in a teaser trailer for the show. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer even made a musical nod to Dolly Parton’s song “Jolene,” hinting that Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha was the inspiration for that song in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For all the needledrops in the witchy Marvel series — from...

Saw XI: Tobin Bell confirms he’s back in the lead for the new sequel
Image
Tobin Bell owns a metal briefcase that he uses to house nine composition books, each one containing the notes he took to prepare to play John Kramer, a.k.a. Jigsaw, in the movies that make up the Saw franchise.. Soon, he’ll start taking notes in a tenth book, because Saw XI is on track for a September 26, 2025 release – and he has confirmed to the LA Times that Kramer is “a main part” of the latest sequel.

The LA Times reports that the first page of the notes Bell took for the original Saw “includes a drawn spiral interrogating the likes, dislikes and motivations” of his character. The other pages “are occupied by a series of questions about the character. They start with the most basic details — ‘Where am I?’ for example — and evolve into increasingly specific queries until they form an inverse triangle brimming with insight he’s deciphered on his own.

What Happened To White Vision After WandaVision?
Image
WandaVision saw the return of Vision to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after his death in Avengers: Infinity War in a new white body, raising questions about where the character is now. While questions about Scarlet Witch's death have continued to circulate, especially with the release of Agatha All Along, little attention in the MCU has been given to this new iteration of Vision. Built by S.W.O.R.D., the new version of the hero character has been given insufficient focus in the universe, although that is set to change in an upcoming series.

Though there are plenty of upcoming Marvel movies, Disney's mandate for Marvel Studios to slow down their release slate has led to significant delays on the TV side. Series like Ironheart have been delayed, and it took several years for Agatha All Along to essentially serve as a follow-up to WandaVision. Marvel intends to release...

All the Songs in ‘Agatha All Along’
Image
Spooky season has arrived early, and it flew in on the broomstick of Agatha Harkness. Ok fine, technically the Marvel witch doesn’t need a broom to fly, but “Agatha All Along” does bring the witchiest of witch vibes with its playlist.

Thanks to the cast’s performance at the D23 Expo this year, we knew that Marvel’s latest series would feature another new original song, in the form of “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road.” Unfortunately, we only hear the faint melody of it in the season premiere, as Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) unwittingly hums it in her car.

It comes in full in episode two, and on top of that, we already have a solid spooky season playlist building up in the episodes.

Here’s a rundown of all the songs in “Agatha All Along” (so far):

Episode 1 “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road” by Kathryn Hahn...

Visions of Mana Review: Reminds Me Why I Fell In Love With This Series In The First Place
Image
Quick Links Visions Of Mana Characters & Gameplay Overview Visions Of Mana's Combat Has Some Drawbacks How Visions Of Mana Compares To Past Mana Games Final Thoughts & Review Score

Nostalgia can be a powerful thing, and Visions of Mana may be a prime example of how well that can work for a series' favor. The latest entry in the long-running Mana series maintains most of its signature trademarks and feels like a classic Mana title in nearly every sense of the term. This is both a boon to Visions of Mana and a drawback - but it mostly works.

Screen Rant was given advance access to Visions of Mana ahead of its release, leaving plenty of time to explore the world, learn about its characters, and experiment heavily with its action-rpg combat. The story, which won't be spoiled here, should be enjoyable for longtime Mana fans, but it also works just...

Can ‘Visions of Mana’ Ever Catch Up to Its Rivals?
Image
Living in your siblings’ shadow is tough, and if Square Enix’s Visions of Mana were a person, it’d likely agree. Its bigger, more famous brethren like the Dragon Quest series keep iterating on traditional RPG designs from the Nineties, while Final Fantasy is always evolving and experimenting with what the genre can be.

But the Mana series has a less defined path forward. You can sense that uncertainty in Visions of Mana (out Aug. 29) as well. Despite its smart twist on familiar storytelling and a stellar combat system,...
