No Disintegrations

1 review
6/10

An enjoyable short "Star Wars" film...

Well, I happened to stumble upon the 2022 short fan-made "Star Wars" film "No Disintegrations" on YouTube here in 2024. And given my love of the "Star Wars" franchise, of course I opted to check it out. Sure, I had not heard about it, and thus didn't really have any expectations.

Writers Roman Santa Croce and Matthew Sumner put together a fair enough script and storyline. But running at 16 minutes only, of course it was limited what they could cram into the narrative. It was an entertaining story, though, and it was enjoyable.

Needless to say that with "No Disintegrations" being a fan-made film, of course I wasn't familiar with the cast here. I will say, though, that the acting performances were fair.

Now, the special effects in the short film were good, and the CGI definitely helped to augment the narrative. But what was truly outstanding were the costumes, props and sets. They put a lot of effort into those, no doubt about it, and it shows. I was especially loving the various species of cantina patrons, even though they were essentially just extras. But their costumes and outfits were good, and they added that particular "Star Wars" feel to the screen.

If you enjoy "Star Wars", and if you have a love of the over-hyped Boba Fett character, then you definitely should check out "No Disintegrations" from director Roman Santa Croce. I was genuinely entertained throughout the course of the 16 minutes that the film ran for. It was made with a passion and love of the "Star Wars" franchise, and it shows.

My rating of "No Disintegrations" lands on a six out of ten stars.
